I've found their board mods/customer support to be rude and of no help what so ever. Not sure how that board manages to survive. My recommendation: stay away
Does anybody actually pay these prices for firearms. You would need your head examined to pay those prices when there are so many other options available on the Internet
I won an auction for a bayonet from a guy doing business in Kansas. I bought a money order the day after the auction and sent it to him. He got pissy because he hadn't received payment barely 3 days after the auction. After numerous profanity-laden emails back and forth, he finally acknowledge payment and said he sent the package (complete with tracking number). This past Saturday, the package arrived and I noticed the box seem too small to contain a nearly foot long bayonet. I opened the package to find a plastic bag (from a grocery store in Kansas) of dog $#*! and a broken kitchen knife. I called the police and had them investigate and contacted Gunbroker. They refuse to respond to my emails about the fraud and the seller is now claiming I didn't pay and he sent the bayonet (he can't keep his $#*! straight). The police officer called the guy and the guy said he sent the bayonet. I filed a complaint with the USPS for mail fraud and will be contacting the BATF about this seller. I am out money and the item I paid for. It's great to know that Gunbroker allow sellers to commit crimes and cheat buyers. NEVER AGAIN!
I have never experienced such a difficult time establishing an account with any other company. GunBroker's validation process is deeply flawed, and they they don't care how much frustration and delay they cause to potential customers. Nor do they seem to care that their existing members will only suffer by being denied access to new. Why should I have to beg to do business?
I'm sorry, but I just had to comment on some of the bad reviews I'm reading here. People complain because they have to pay $1 to verify their account? That's called preventing scams. People complain because they had to pay the "Buy it Now" price on a Buy it Now only listing instead of being able to place a lower bid? What do they think 'Buy it now' means? People complain because they didn't read the description and got something they didn't want" C'mon people, show a little responsibility. One person even complained because he decided he didn't want something after he won the auction and didn't pay for it, so Gunbroker shut his account down? That's called being a non-paying bidder and any site will shut you down for that because they want to keep things honest. You know, sellers DO have to pay for listings and if you are a non-paying bidder, you are essentially ripping them off.
You know, we're all supposed to be responsible adult gun owners, not a bunch of whiny Liberals who always try to blame everyone else for their own mistakes. If you don't like Gunbroker, that's fine, then don't use it. I have only had 20 transactions on there so far, but I have never given or received a single bit of negative feedback.
I Joined Gun BROKER I TRIED TO LIST A KNIFE. What A PAIN IN THE BUTT. THEIR CUSTOMER LACK OF SUPPORT IS A JOKE. In 1876 THERE WAS A NEW INVENTION,,, THE TELEPHONE! GET A TELEPHONE AND HAVE A REAL PERSON ANSWER IT AND ACTUALLY HELP YOUR CUSTOMERS. DO NOT USE GUN BROKER, AVOID THEM LIKE YOU WOULD AVOID THE CLAP!
High volume dealer, I've sold close to 2k in guns. Do not expect a courteous reply if you need help or have an issue, stay away they're unethical and downright obnoxious to deal with.
I've had good and bad on gun broker but overall would say the site isn't worth it. Forget about buyer protection - there isn't any. The site is a scam in and of itself. The BS fees to be verified and support is run by behind the scenes alias jockeys who suck at customer service. Their only intention in to keep running and don't give a $#*! about what kind of crap users sell on there. You'll see over and over guns listed as good condition but when it arrives you realize you've got junk on your hands. Then your fun begins trying to either return it or get it working. GunBroker could care less about it - they've made their money. Support will answer easy questions on how to use their site but disappear when it comes to real problems. STAY AWAY from the hicksters and you'll be better off. Otherwise it's like playing the lotto - sometimes you win but others you'll lose and ultimately, you'd wish you would have done business with a legitimate company instead of these gomers.
I purchased a M1 carbine, in the ad it stated in "Good Condition" haha Ya," No Good" If I were to fire it the Gunsmith that I had to hire said it would Blow Up in my face! And either getting in touch with Gun Brokers or Getting a Quick Answer is a Joke. There is really NO SUPPORT they told me to call the FBI after me trying to reach the seller who would not answer. Really your better off just about any other way you can. In other words I paid over $700.00 for something that would kill me more than likely, But their going to find out who they screwed you watch the News and Read the Major Papers and Sporting Mags. I will teach them a lesson!
Bryan was very friendly and more helpful than basspro grate bunch of people thay treat you like family thanks guys
Gunbroker is full of wonderful deals. I have completed over 700 transactions on there and never once had any issues. Many sellers offer a secure checkout that allows you to pay with a credit card, or you can mail the seller a money order or check. Being as easy as their site is to use, I find it extremely odd that there are so many bad reviews of this site on here.
Visit and bid regularly. Never had an issue. Tech help was fine when I needed them. Not sure where the negativity comes from.
Gunbroker is a great site to find what your looking for. The major problem is the bidders out there, people take what would be a fair price for a gun and try and outbid the next person. By doing this they win the bid but end up paying hundreds of dollars more then the gun is worth. Why not let a person get a fair price that bid before you instead of just bidding the price up why past what the gun is worth. That's why I say people are just crazy, not smart.
I have been trying to use gunbroker.com and all I get is nonsensical. I used my user name and password and it told me it was wrong. I had to go in and try to change what it told me to. It would not let me do anything. It told me that my zip code was wrong. I don't think so.
I would never do business through this website. No one to talk to no matter what. Very poor with customer relations, many more sites that are much better. STEVE C.
This outfit charges those with a "free" email address a one dollar "activation" fee. They claim it is for verification reasons. BULLS_IT! This is just a way to get your money.
Stay away from these people!
There are plenty of other sites out there that broker weapons.
DO NOT USE THIS ONE!
I can't imagine how this place stays in business. With the reviews it gets you would think potential buyers would learn from others bad experiences. CUSTOMER SERVICE FOR BUYERS OR SELLERS DOES NOT EXIST its that simple. Hope the local or federal fraud busters get to them soon, right now would be perfect. A sham of a business from the get go. Don't waste your time and do like i do tell all the readers on other gun related boards to stay away. One star is two to many for this bunch of wasters STAY OFF THEIR SITE AND TELL YOUR FRIENDS IN THE WHOLE GUN COMMUNITY TO DO THE SAME
They don't have a customer service phone number.
And if you have a seller that doesn't want to complete the transaction, you can give them a bad rating but Gun Broker wont do anything until they get multiple complaints.
One complaint should be enough to remove them from listing. I guess buyers don't rate.
Yeah These guys suck! I should have know this, 12,000 auctions and 6 bidders All gunbroker emails now go to forever spam. My beef with Gunbroker is VERY rude! St responce from cus. Serv. Then every E-mail from GB when opened went to a malware page. Almost locked up my pc 3 times, and the 3rd time was right after I read responce from Cust. Serv. I went to go back in to GB and again a Malware Page. I was done! Made 2 purchases all went well. Then started reading reviews, And thought, Yes I could see GB doing all that was said in negative reviews. And GB sellers Many are like GB and assume people are stupid. Thanks for lookin!
I had my eyes opened when a deal with bad with a seller that did not like the bid he got and would not ship the item. I sent payment with shipping fee within hours of getting the bid. Seller wanted more for shipping. Some sellers want to make a large profit on shipping/handling. Seller's true self (pushy, unreasonable, I call all the shots jerk) came out in emails from him. Thuggish Gunbroker (GB) customer service. GB sides with the seller without even hearing the buyers side of a problem. I sent GB the emails and my side of the case and they totally ignored them. You get the impression you are involved with the mob when trying to communicate with GB. GB branded me a "non-payer" and the dealer relisted and got more $ the second auction like they wanted in the first place. With GB the volume seller is god and the customer is crap. Do not get involved with GB and save yourself a lot of grief.
Answer: Asking the wrong guy, will never return to that site, quite pleased with Auction Arms
Answer: One can hope the FEDS would shut them down you and every one else that uses them is in serious peril from the web site owners. They are the most unethical people you will find, In for the quick buck and non existant customer service. PLEASE try other sites to conduct your legitamite business on GB stinks.
Answer: I would absolutely look locally, ask a policeman where they would recommend you shop or google gun dealers in your area and then check the reviews. Under "no" circumstance would I suggest you do anything with GunBroker except delete, block and ignore. Run form them. Integrity does not exist here. My guns were withdrawn within a week or so of listing and now almost a year later they are still trying to access funds from my credit card. These people are not to be trusted with your personal financial information. Unless of course you enjoy drama, problems and working with people of questionable ethics.
Answer: I paid my seller within hours but he did not like the closing bid so he added a to high shipping. He relisted and sold for more $ and GB branded me a non payer.
Answer: Part of their scam
Answer: How many ways can you spell scam
