Product didn't work

Got my box- the soap dispenser didn't work. When I called they said it would be in next month's box. Also didn't get the dish soap and hand soap for free that I thought I was getting.

Great products, great prices

I have been using Grove mainly for cleaning products so far, and several of them have arrived with their own glass spray bottles. All the products I've used are very effective, Earth-friendly, and smell wonderful. The few trays I've ordered are quietly attractive, generous-size, and durable I am so impressed, also, by the pocket-friendly prices in the vast majority of Grove's products.

Was pleased with my first two shipments but the third was all tossed inside, broken bottle nozzle leaked through the entire box and over everything. Terrible sticky mess. Also, didn't get the "free gift" it showed I qualified for at $79 and asked that I "select gift". Thought at first, oh well, they will resolve. NOPE.
HORRIBLE customer service experience! Was told do not get the free gift bc a $4 holiday Memorial Day discount that was applied at check out without my noticing or using any code made my order just under $79 so got nothing, not even offered the lower tiered gift offerings.
They also didn't offer to send out replacements of the EMPTY bottle I received and said would get a new one WITH MY NEXT ORDER!? Why would I ever (re)order from them again without standing by this order? Never! Empty bottle and sent them all the photos.
I said would cancel my subscription so instead of trying to please me, Ian just sent me a link on how to cancel.
He could care less on trying to keep a customer. Shame. Although I can continue to buy these products elsewhere, I liked this concept of auto delivery.
Lost a customer over bad customer service. Shame on Ian.

As for how we replaced your item, we remain conscious of every box we ship and try to do what we can to consolidate shipments whenever possible and it saddens us to see that this has impacted your time with us. We also wanted to touch upon the confusion surrounding your subtotal and the bonus item in your cart. The subtotal shown in your cart is comprised of the list prices of all items in your cart. All discounts are displayed in the total discounts portion of your cart, and the total shown at the bottom is the correct amount you will be charged.

Disappointing
May 28, 2020

I have been a customer of Grove for years, and have paid for a VIP membership. I am continually disappointed at their customer service. Shipping takes forever and you have to spend money on top of more money on top of more money in order to get basic services, such as "free" shipping, immediate shipping, or the VIP "perks" that are promised to you when you originally pay for the VIP membership. They offer nice products at reasonable prices but their business model has evolved in a way that feels like I'm being robbed. Any time I bring an issue to customer service, their approach feels like, "hey that's your problem, not ours." Seems like they care more about revenue than people. Sad.

My first order through them was great. The second not so much. I spent an extra $20 to get a free glass spray bottle, and got an email confirmation with a list of my items. Only to notice the sprayer wasn't listed. In its place was a free metal caddy that hadn't even been listed at any tier of money spent as a potential free item at the time I placed my order.

I emailed customer service detailing what had happened and basically got a "well, that's not what your order shows, enjoy your caddy". I again explained what happened. A different rep responded and said, "A free replacement has now been added to your cart so you can get that in your next shipment." Even though the order it was missing from hadn't shipped yet.

This is of course after I've already stated it was my last order, and (attempted?) to cancel my free trial VIP membership. I went through the process of cancellation, but if I look at my Grove account, it still says it's going to charge me for the VIP membership in July. It won't even let me take my credit card off file unless I replace it with another card. It also seems the sprayer in question is never going to be sent to me unless I get suckered into placing another order.

Anyway. Fingers crossed I'm free of this company, but I have the terrible feeling I'm not out of the woods yet. Guess I'll see what happens in July.

I so badly wanted to love this. I love all the products and the convenience of getting them regularly. However after my first box I didn't receive an item I ordered and I didn't receive a item that was free with a minimum purchase. I didn't think much about it and was still excited about the products I did get. I texted the text customer service number I received in my box and was told that the items I didn't receive had been added to my next box... wait so I have to wait another month for items I've already paid for and paid extra to get. I didn't think that was right so I called to check and see how to get the items. The woman on the phone told me exactly what the person over text had told me, I would not be getting my items until next month or she would add them for free to my cart. I opted to have them added to my cart for free, however when I went to check out they have a minimum purchase requirement to ship of $45. So I paid $60 and didn't receive items that I paid for and they want me to pay another $45 to get those items before next month. So I posted an Instagram story warning my friends and family that I felt Grove was a bit scammy. A little while later I received a message on Instagram from their Grove account insisting they could help make this right. 3 days later and they did the same thing the last customer service woman did and added them to my cart for free (which I'd then have to wait a month for or buy $45 worth of products to get it shipped now). I was never offered a refund only excuses. Buyer beware!
EDIT: After writing repeated bad but honest reviews I was refunded for the 1 item I paid for and didn't receive...

ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE! I got lured into this site with the free products (after you order so much.) The products themselves are great! They clean great and smell even better! Honestly though, you can get most of these products on Amazon for the same price, or less. After my initial order, a second, random shipment order arrived the next month with over $100 in products. I immediately emailed to cancel my membership and went into my account to make sure a new shipment would arrive next month and charge my card. If you look in your account, they sign you up for random "subscriptions." You have to physically delete them and customized what you want. After "canceling" my membership and deleting the subscriptions, I received an email the next month stating that my shipment was being prepared. I had to, once again, go back into my account and delete more random subscriptions they had added onto my account. Under "history" I noticed they had charged for membership in April... on a card that was on file and had expired in February. I don't know how they could have charged when the card on file had expired! Not to mention, I had emailed them and confirmed the membership cancellation. So now I'm going through my bank to dispute a $20 charge on an expired card and something that should have been confirmed canceled. Save yourself the hassle and shop elsewhere. These products are sold at Target, in grocery stores, on Amazon, etc.

The frequency of your shipments is completely customizable and there is no requirement to order every month. You can edit the items in your order via your cart or your Product Subscriptions. Product subscriptions are separate from your cart, and allow you to automatically add items to your monthly shipments so you don't forget them. However, we understand that this doesn't work for everyone, so you can edit or remove these subscriptions on the subscription page here.

We apologize if this feature of our site was not made clear and for any frustration, this may have caused! We try our best to explain our service options during sign up and will continue to improve upon this using thoughts and suggestions from valuable community members like yourself!

I was a VIP member for a little over a year but just ended that today due to the frustration of getting incomplete shipments, delays, ordering a certain laundry detergent and getting another, my cart is continually full of items that I did not shop or request so I have to empty the cart each time before I place an order, spamming me with emails, demanding a certain dollar amount before they ship items even though I pay a fee to be a "VIP" member, and finally, the company refusing to send items to me that I paid for, but they did not include in my shipment. They have interesting products, but it wasn't worth the myriad frustrations when I have other options (Thrive Market, Whole Foods).

It is most likely that those items were added to your cart because of your Product Subscriptions. You can customize the shipping frequency for each product in your subscriptions or remove them completely by clicking the "x" in the top right corner of the product photo. Items in your product subscriptions will be automatically placed in your cart based on those settings. Removing items from your subscription does not remove them from your cart if they have already populated for your next shipment.

I fell in love with Grove.co's website, but as soon as I started using them there was nothing but problems. They "lost" several of my orders and wouldn't even tell me until I started a complaint. I was understanding the first time, but the third was a bit much. The sad part was that I had to cause a huge fuss in order to get my money back. They would have been just fine with taking my money and not giving me the products that I ordered. They are a horrible scam and not worth anyones time or energy!

My wife and I were both charged multiple times after we canceled are shipments, VIP, and even sent emails and said to send no more products, then to have to wait to receive them, print a label wait for them to receive it back before you get a refund. In these hard times this last charged caused a overdraft fee, and after sending an email to grove for the 6th time, no response, just happened to check email and saw a ups label, BUYERS BEWARE!

I was double charged accidentally and when I tried (within minutes) to cancel one of the orders I was told they could not cancel it because the warehouse already had the orders. I cancelled my membership and account, I was then charged the following month. Terrible company. Terrible service. They do seem good products but just buy them from amazon and save the hassle. FYI they will always promote crap you do not want, buyer beware

I ordered for the first time & have NEVER been so upset & disappointed in my life. 1st on quick view everything was dusty, dirty, and gritty like it had been on a warehouse shelf for quite sometime. Then noticed the dates go back to 2017 & 2018 its 2020! I also didn't receive everything I paid for

Missing items
May 6, 2020

Boxed badly and items were missing. Instead of resending, they say they have to add them to my next order because shipping is bad for the environment. If I would have just ordered these items, you would have shipped them! Seems like a scheme to make sure that I have to order again. Very disappointing customer service.
