My issue with Grove is not the products they sell, those are great. My issue with them is that they auto sign you up for an annual membership, and bury the notice in spam. I will tell everyone I know to steer clear
Do Not purchase from this company. They will bill you without your consent which is all sorts of illegal.
I really wanted to love grove but the way they just add random stuff to your cart is shady. After I get an order I always go on the app and update my next order because I know I will forget. This last time I updated it I had around $60 of stuff in my cart. I got the reminder notification saying my order was about to ship but I thought I already updated my cart so it's fine…. Wrong. I get on my online banking and see I was charged $119. I go back on the app and there was a lot of random stuff added to my cart I didn't want / can't even use. I don't recommend grove unless you have time to stalk your cart every 3 days.
Didn't realize it was a subscription site which was a negative for me. Dishwasher detergent didn't do a good job, unsure or couldn't tell with the other cleaning products. Loved the 3 ply toilet paper and the reusable glass containers.

I ordered from Grove. A month later I received a bill for $173 for "subscriptions". Most of these "subscription items" were the free gifts they had given during my first purchase, the other items were what I had purchased that ONE time.
The company auto enrolled me in a subscription for all items in my first checkout cart.

Gal was very nice. I received a damaged box that was crushed and they shipped me my entire order at no charge. That is good customer service! Products are great too, love the smell they leave. I had a good experience that started off bad.
I tried Grove when I was running out of laundry detergent from Dropps. I was really excited to try the Grove laundry soap sheets. To my massive disappointment, almost everything in the welcome kit I received was in a plastic package (laundry pods), a plastic bottle (toilet cleaner, multi surface cleaner), and the sponge and caddy had a very unnecessary sheet of plastic draped around it. I will never order grove again. You cannot claim to be plastic free when more than half of your items were drenched in plastic. As someone who has not purchased single use plastics in years, this was a great disappointment.

I love everything about this company. I received my order within 4 days, everything was packaged beautifully. The cleaners work very well without all the chemicals and plastic waste. Their website is very user friendly. You can add or cancel items and subscriptions very easily.
Well first off where do i start. Well i was tricked into a so called try it free and a test our products kinda deal, so i tried it was neglected to be told it was only a free trial for a membership ended up getting charged 20$. No big deal i thought its fine ill roll with it accepted the membership, then all of a sudden i got charged an extre $40 for stuff i never bought. I ended up having to fight with them about this with them claiming i had bought these items when i never did… ended up disputing it with my bank and getting my money back. I would not recomend these scammers and thieves it is a trick to steal your money and lie to you causing you issues and possibly depending on your finatial statues to go into the red causing fees and other issues. Moral of the story if they dont straight up tell you there is a membership involved in an email they send you then dont fall for its free try it and test it deal. Or you might end up like me and almost getting scammed thank god my bank is not afraid to dispute charges with places like this.

Absolutely inconsiderate and unhelpful customer service. Misleading information, and not caring about dissatisfied customers well simply said thank you and deactivated my account instead of trying to fix things.
I clearly raised my order to the amount to qualify for one of their 'free' gifts and changed the shipping date to the next day to get my items only to be told the free item would only be included if i had clicked ship now? Is this for real? Instead of apologizing for the miscommunication and happily shipping their item, no, he suggested sending me a return label and deactivating my account! WOW i was impressed with your products and about to recommend them to my friends, but nope, I'll be returning, losing a 100$ order and warning my friends against you. Thank you very much.

Watch out they charged me a non refundable 29.00 charge which I didn't authorize. I see no less packages with this company. I don't trust that their mint antibacterial cleaner really works. It don't smell clean now does it make me feel confident it works. I thought sorry bottles were nice but they're just well made junk. Triggers don't work well. Products are expensive and you have to use a lot of elbow grease to get it viral. I WOULDN'T RECOMMEND JOINING AT ALL

I was charged, never received product, won't let me cancel my account. Had to go to my bank to get further payments stopped. I'm pretty sure there is a word for this….

I did not mean to order anything and after the order went through I tried to find a way to cancel it and couldn't. I emailed, messaged, and they never got back to me and never canceled my order. Now I have a $32 card payment charge for items I never meant to order.

They advertise all natural products, and lure you in with free "gifts" to get your to try their products. I ordered a bunch to try them - the idea is good, but the quality of their products is very poor. The dish soap they sent me caused my hands to crack and bleed. I got a really bad rash from it. I tested twice and stopped using it for a week. My hands got better, but as soon as I used it again, the rash was back. Their laundry soap leaves your laundry smelling like it was never washed. Their dish machine detergent leaves your dishes looking like they were last washed in the last century - and when you try to return the items you paid for, they tell you you will have to return every single item you got from them in order to get a refund. How do you return toilet paper that you used? Or cleaners you used to test the products? Every free "gift" is charged to your card when you cancel if you haven't ordered enough from the company to cover the "free gifts" they sent you that you never needed or wanted. This is a scam of the worst kind! Their business model is to lure you in with the free gifts, and then keep sending you their bad, dangerous products, month after month, and overcharging for them. DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY!

I received an email today charging my PayPal account for $68.35. I did not order anything from them and after talking to a supervisor, Anthony, I was very disappointed to a point where I cancelled my membership. He agreed that it was an error on their part and apologize 10 times but there was nothing he could do unless I agree to receive the shipment and take it down to UPS to return it and until I do that they will not credit my account for $68.35. I was not on auto ship and Anthony verified that. He does not know how this happened. Quite frankly, I have seen the products I like at Rite Aid and in other stores. I now understand why their ratings are so poor.

The automatic, sign you up for VIP membership and do not tell you they charge you $20.00 after a month if you do not know this and they sign you up for automatic delivery if you do not cancel that too. Again you have no choice they just do it. They change you order and ship thing you do not even order and charge you for it. And they wait 30 days to ship your order so you can not return it as there is only a 30 day return policy. Buyer BEWARE!

I found their site through a facebook ad and had been wanting some Meyer peppermint products. I placed an order not knowing I was signing up to get the same thing once a month and billed for it. I was finally able after a hassle to get that cleared up when I get a charge months later that came directly out of my bank account for a yearly subscription to their website! None of this is shown on your order, these business practices are extremely deceptive and you have to waste your time trying to put a stop to it when you realize what is happening. Buy your cleaning products somewhere else and save yourself a HUGE headache!:-(

After I received my order, I opened one of the MANY promotional emails sent by Grove Collaborative and checked my account -- and toy amazement, found out that they 'd established a subscription for EVERY SI GLE ITEM I'd ordered. NOT ONLY THAT -- but they had added items to "build" another cart -- which I would buy if I pressed 'Ship". Probably by accident. The other subscriptions would be auto-shipped. There were SEVEN.
And THEN -- in a separate part of the Account section -- I saw that I was enrolled as a "VIP" -- and that I would be charged $20 for that after my "trial" period.
I wásn't aware of ANY of that when I ordered their products. Why? Because that information appears very briefly among the BS blurbs. What they're doing is deliberately just this side of illegal and totally on the side of unethical.
I immediately removed every single subscription and, after some searching and extra steps, was able to cancel my "VIP" status.
Their whole operation and approach makes me want to vomit. And, really, for a "sustainable" company that wants to save trees -- their overpackaging, as well as the whole idea of shipping cleaning supplies -- uses LOTS of trees, and leaves a big fat carbon footprint as well. The products I tried were OK, nothing special. And their concentrates made small quantities of product when diluted according to directio nd -- so weren't a bargain, either.
I learned 3 lessons from this:. READ THE FINE PRINT, DO THE MATH, don't deal with companies that want to be your best friend while they're full of BS. Never again!

Another auto-ship subscription scam. Decent products, but you have to agree to auto-ship subscription to buy anything.
Just let consumers buy stuff. Don't bury the small print and sign people up for an expensive subscription services without their knowledge. You also can't change your payment method online, you have to call them. I despise companies that don't allow full user control via their site. This screams of scamming.
