Best friends made here. Good Dog makes it simple for people to get dogs from good sources and for reputable breeders, shelters and rescues to put their dogs in good homes. And we provide all the support and guidance you need to feel confident every step of the way!
Good Dog has garnered a reputation for facilitating a seamless and trustworthy experience in connecting potential puppy owners with vetted breeders. Customers appreciate the user-friendly app, responsive customer service, and the peace of mind that comes from knowing breeders adhere to strict ethical standards. However, some breeders express frustration over the platform’s stringent policies and lack of transparency regarding fees and breed restrictions, which they find arbitrary and unfair. Overall, while many users celebrate their positive experiences, concerns about fairness and communication highlight areas for potential improvement in the company's approach.

We got a delightful small Maltipoo with Big Ears ready for flying. She has a wonderful disposition and is very energetic and fun. The breeder was excellent and took a great deal of care to prepare us and our pup for our new life together.
I had a wonderful experience with Good Dog. I was able to find my awesome breeder and as a result have brought home my dream puppy. I like the fact that the financial transaction is done through the app. I think that is a plus for breeder and seller.
I went in person found the puppy that I would love to have Meka terrific and shares his progress
My wife and I could not be happier with the puppy we got from Jan. We acquired him at the age of 4 months and he was already trained for pee pads, sitting and shaking hands! He meshed with the shih tzu we already had at home in minutes and now they are inseparable. He is VERY smart also. All papers were included and the price paid was more than reasonable. My wife and I would highly recommend anyone seeking a shih tzu to consider Jan!
This app is a scam. They offer buyers protection and then don't honor it. I paid a $500 deposit, a $60 plane ticket, a $100 pet in cabin, a $76 dollar vet appointment because the breeder told me the day before she was too busy to get the puppy her 2nd shot, $75 to Uber for a ride to airport, $50 for crate to fly puppy home, plus toys and food for puppy. One hour before I had to leave for airport the breeder messaged me to tell me the puppy got bit by a snake. I have not been refunded any of my money. Please don't use this site!
I was impressed with how quickly they responded to a question. Very professional. Very knowledgeable.
They do not let you take the service fee off. I even called and they told me it would be on the next page after entering in the card info. However I was then charged and never saw the option for "Friends and Family" at 0 cost. Now they are not responding.
Hi Lloyd,
Thank you so much for reaching out! We're glad to see that a member of our team was able to quickly assist you and take care of refunding this optional Protection & Support fee for you. Please do not hesitate to reach out if there's anything else we can help you with by emailing [email protected] or calling 855-446-6336.
Warmly,
The Good Dog Team
I hope that someone learns from my experience. Do not use this website or any of their Breeders. I purchased a 9 week old cockapoo. The breeders paperwork from her vet signed off as healthy and normal in all aspects, including oral cavity and legs/gait. I took him to my vet, who immediately noted an underbite and bow hind legs. My vet issued Unfit for Purchase certificate.
I presented all of this to the Good Dog Care Team Manager. She said the breeders vet said the puppy was fine. So, the congenital defects just happened in 4 days. I had the puppy sent from AR, over 1,300 miles away. I can return him, at my expense and hope that I get reimbursed. The horrible breeder, *, at PineHavenDoodles still has puppies listed on GoodDog site. They haven't even removed her. Statement from GoodDog is that the Breeder meets their standards. Apparently they have no standards.
I can't believe I fell for this.
Please listen to all the reviews unless you want nothing but heartbreak for the future.
Hi Marie,
Thank you for reaching out. We’re glad that our team has been able to work with you through this issue and communicate with the breeder on your behalf over the past few days
We understand that the breeder has offered you a full refund of your dog payments, as well as additional funds that can be used towards transportation costs of getting the pup back to the breeder.
As our team shared with you, we take enforcement of our standards incredibly seriously and have a process in place in which we conduct an independent investigation of all complaints in order to ensure that our standards are enforced consistently and fairly. In line with this process, our team reviewed all documentation provided and determined that the breeder is in compliance with our Community Standards at this time.
We hope this answers your remaining questions, and wish you nothing but the best.

My wife and I recently used Good-Dog to find a dog breeder We were looking for a West Highland White Terrier We were reluctant to use online services to find a dog because of no physical contact
Good-Dog paired us with a breeder that was excellent and very knowledgeable with her trade - Deana Raymond was a very good communicator She text us photos at least twice a week of our puppies progress which made our online experience very physical, the photos showed a loving relationship between the breeder and the litter of puppies
We used a transport service that was provided by Deana to get our puppy from Alabama to Seattle The nanny Amanda also made photos of the trip and kept us touch all the way She was very caring she said that Mac didn't give her any trouble at all during the two flights and was very quiet
Mac arrived in good spirit and in excellent heath with shot records up to date and all of his papers in order Deana called us to make sure Mac arrived safely and told us that missing the puppy caused her to shad tears on the way home from the airport Truly a sign of a caring breeder
Working with Good-Dog and Deana Raymond made our online purchase very personal and exhilarating five stars for alll Thank You
We purchased our male Great Dane pup from a breeder Brittany Smoot in Yreka, CA on Good Dog. BIG mistake! We had just lost our 8 yr old Great Dane and looked at various breeders for a new pup. Unfortunately we decided on one w/ Good Dog. He's been sick since day one w/ chronic diarrhea and GI issues, needs eye surgery on both eyes and remains ill today as his health issues are congenital and hereditary. Eyes, extreme GI issues, congenital ear deformity, and an overbite. Our vet bills have mounted and continue. The breeder misrepresented herself and the health of our pups parents. She was difficult to get ahold of. Didn't respond when she committed to. Vacillated between things she stated and lied to us. She finally told us that our pup had had diarrhea 4 days prior to us picking up our pup and that several other pups from the litter also had health/eye issues as well and stated she should have been more diligent about looking into the health of the sire. We finally demanded a total refund after 3 months, which we received the funds. We reached out to Good Dog and have never heard back even after their statement of commitment. We are considering filing a lawsuit against both the breeder as well as Good Dog. Our suggestion is that you stay away from Good Dog and this breeder out of Yreka, CA. People like this should NEVER BREED ANIMALS and should be ashamed of themselves!
Hi Amanda,
Thank you for reaching out and bring this to our attention. We are sorry to hear about the health issues your pup experienced. We’re glad that a member of our Care team has been able to connect with you and take the first steps to working through this issue with you.
As they shared with you, we take enforcement of our standards incredibly seriously and have a process in place in which we conduct an independent investigation of all complaints in order to ensure that our standards are enforced consistently and fairly.
We see that a member of our Care team reached out to you to share more about the documentation we’ll need to receive in order to move our investigation forward. You can feel free to respond directly to that email, or reach out to us anytime by emailing [email protected] or calling 855-446-6336.
Again, we’re so sorry to hear about this, and we look forward to hearing from you so we can help turn your experience into a positive one.

Don't go through this company or breeders they vetted. I got a very sick 2lb dog the breeder has giardia in her environment my vet Says so. My puppy almost died. I never recieved my 1 year health guarantee or my akc papers. Good dog won't help you! Go to your vet and find a trustworthy breeder!
Hi Tracey,
Thank you for reaching out. We’re so sorry to hear of your pup’s medical needs. We’re glad that a member of our Care team has been able to work through this situation with you, as well as reach out to the breeder on your behalf.
We understand that there were some issues regarding the transporter you selected and when the puppy would be picked up and dropped off, but we're glad that the breeder was able to keep you updated along the way.
As our team shared with you, we take enforcement of our standards incredibly seriously and have a process in place in which we conduct an independent investigation of all complaints in order to ensure that our standards are enforced consistently and fairly.
Our team, including our staff veterinarian, reviewed all documentation you provided and determined that the pup had a clear health check prior to leaving the breeder, and a clear vet visit after you received her. Based on this, the breeder is in compliance with our Community Standards & abiding by the terms agreed to in their contract at this time.
Again, we are sorry about your pup’s veterinary needs, but are glad to hear about the dedicated care you are providing. We hope this answers any remaining questions you may have.

Heard from a couple of fellow breeders that this new platform was great. So figured I would give it a try as well and applied to become a breeder. I have 16 years of experience with dogs. Applied and waited. Answered all of the questions. While waiting to be approved, I started filling out my breeders page. Putting the pics and descriptions of my adults. Pictures of previous litters and new pups I have to offer. Decorating my page with a special touch and love. Month goes by. Second. I email the support asking what is the status of my application. Next day I get a welcoming email saying that they are almost done with the screening process and it should not take much longer. Week goes by. Another one. Another one. I email again asking maybe I am missing something. They sent me an email that they have been trying to get a hold of me a few times and unfortunately I was denied as a breeder. I don't have any missed calls or texts or emails. So now I am confused. First I was told they are almost done with the screening and all of my answers to the application. And now I get denied? So I figure maybe it's a mistake. I call the screening team to find out. No responce. I emailed. No responce. Sent a text. No responce. Wasted almost 3 month for no reason. Disappointed. This is some kind of a joke.
P.s. While they say they don't allow color frenchies, if you start looking for pups around your area, every second puppy on good dog either blue or Merle. Hahahah. While I had all standards on my page.
Hi Alexa,
Thank you for reaching out. We’re glad that a member of our team was able to connect with you and share more information about our Community Standards, Good Breeder Code of Ethics, and Policies, and how they may apply to an individual breeding program. You can read more here:
-https://www.gooddog.com/breeder-code-of-ethics
-https://www.gooddog.com/good-breeder-center/good-dog-article-toc#good-dog-policies
Every breeder in our community goes through our screening process and must meet or exceed our community standards, including our Breeder Code of Ethics and our minimum health testing requirements, before joining Good Dog. Unfortunately, we were not able to move your program forward in our screening process at this time.
We understand that not everyone will agree with our approach, but we know that you, as a dog breeder, are working very hard and that you have a breeding program to be proud of. We continue to wish you all the best.
Kind Regards,
Good Dog Compliance Team
We had such an amazing experience using Debbie Maness with Your Fuzzy Puppy and her nanny Frieda. My uncle and his family now have the cutest puppy, Pearlie, and she's everything they ever wanted! I would 100% recommend working with them! Thanks again :)
I can't believe that good dog would even say the have trusted and has protector stories. They allow breeders to rip off the people who are purchasing dogs from them. The buyers are not protected. They allowed a breeder to scam me.
Hi Wendy,
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. We’re glad that our team was able to work with you and reach out to the breeder on your behalf to reach a resolution. As they clarified with you, in accordance with the breeder's contract, the deposit you completed was non-refundable, although we’re happy to hear that the breeder did agree to refund your other payments.
At Good Dog, each breeder sets their own individual policies with buyers, especially around whether a payment is refundable or non-refundable. We encourage puppy buyers to choose a breeder whose policies align with what they feel most comfortable with, because we do honor the policies that a breeder and buyer agree to.
We hope this helps answer your questions related to the non-refundable deposit you completed. Please feel free to reach out to us if there is anything we can do to help, or if you have any questions or concerns.
Warmly,
The Good Dog Team
I used to like good dog. Then they gave me a "random" audit. I am assuming brought on my a complaint from competitor. I literally sent them everything they asked for including vet reference paperwork where my vet confirmed I am taking all measures necessary to protect my puppies and take good care of them. Still they removed my page. Asked repeatedly why and never got an answer. I read all of the terms and conditions with all their policies and I was not in violation of anything, yet they wouldn't tell me why. What a joke, especially considering I had over 30K in puppy sales of which my puppy families paid them fees and now they have no guarantees. Quite irritating when I health test my dogs, spend thousands on importing them to the Us and there are puppy mills selling puppies on hood dog and other breeders that are lying about health testing results actively selling.
Hi Darah,
Thank you for reaching out. We're glad to know a member of our Compliance team has already been able to connect with you and share more about our Community Standards & Policies, and how they may apply to an individual breeding program.
As they shared with you, at this time, your program is not in line with our Community Standards [https://www.gooddog.com/standards-and-screening], Good Breeder Code of Ethics [https://www.gooddog.com/breeder-code-of-ethics], and Policies [https://www.gooddog.com/good-breeder-center/good-dog-article-toc#good-dog-policies]. Given this, we are not able to recognize your program at this time.
We wish you all the best with your program.

We love our pups purchased from Jeannes half pints and we also loved the way Jeanne treated us and her dogs. Every dog there is healthy, happy, and Jeanne goes above and beyond to ensure the dogs go to good homes. Our experience so far has been a 10 out of 10. Would highly recommend this breeder.
There's nothing like finding an excellent breeder... especially online.
Jill Steuber is that person!
I already paid for my puppy. I have not picked her up because the breeder keeps changing pick up dates and times. She wants the dogs to be picked up at her house, which is 6 hours away one way. I have asked for pictures and she sent one video of the Vet Tech. At this point I do not even know if she really has puppies. With all the issues from this breeder I do NOT feel safe even picking up the puppies at her house. I have suggested a public place for pick up or at least close to the freeway. I have been ignored. Do Not pay for a dog unless you can physically see the dog and pay for it as they are handing you the puppy. At this time I just want my money back.
Hi Tonja,
Thank you for taking the time to share this feedback with us. We are sorry to hear about the experience you had with this breeder, and are glad a member of our Care team was able to work with you quickly towards a resolution and refund, and helped turn your experience into a positive one.
We hope this clears up any remaining questions you have, but please feel free to call/text us at 855-446-6336, or email us at [email protected] if there is anything else we can do!
Warmly,
-The Good Dog Team
I have been raising Siberian huskies since 2006, recently I sold a puppy through Gooddog and the young couple almost immediately had buyers remorse and wanted to bring him back. I said yes, of course bring him back, however once they learned I don't give refunds until after the puppy is placed again they began making outrageous claims that the puppy was sick, without providing any proof at all. Gooddog took their word for it and deactivated my account. I have yet to receive any proof of the claims the couple was making. This company is a
"guilty until proven innocent" — yet even when you prove you are innocent you're still guilty type of business. I never even received a response when I sent them my proof of the puppy having the vet check etc before he left. This company does NOT CARE about breeders. Only in if for the money. Even after sending my "proof" that they asked for they STILL deactivated my account and never replied. Terrible business practices and the platform has gone down hill since starting.
