This company is damaging our company reputation by allowing bitter ex employees to post untruthful and racist data. Not only that but their sales teams have been aggressively chasing us to use their services, job advertising and employer branding to capitalise on the damage they already created it. Nobody there listens, they have a customer service team for what? They never replied to me. As a result of major irritation due to their overly aggressive and unprofessional sales team, I contacted their CEO on LinkedIn in a desperate plea for help. Surprise! Nobody ever got in touch with me.

I was trying to get reviews about a company I was wanting to apply for. The site told me I had to enter my current salary info to see more reviews, I did this. Then I was asked to review the company I work for before I could see more reviews, as I entered my info more boxes popped in for me to fill out. I decided to spend that time filling out this review instead. I can't even give a review of the site content because I wasn't able to see that. Asks too many questions and gives you little info in return! Great concept that is being poorly delivered to the public!

This company is horrible the reviews do not even match the company they are reviewing, Do not trust there reviews, I wish i had something nice to say but from my experience it's all bad. You can not get anyone on the phone. When i flagged the incorrect reviews they stated that they are not going to remove the reviews. What a joke of a company

I wrote a review for my previous company on glassdoor. They delete my review. No idea why.
This is total fraud. Keeping positive reviews of the company and misleading the employee is the biggest crime. Glassdoor is totally paid review site. Super safety services might have paid this glassdoor.com and all the positive things are happing for the compnay. Please dont keep faith on such a cheap and disgusting websites.

Absolutely no fact checking. They have allowed a single disgruntled employee that was fired during his 90 day probation period for being completely inept and lazy to post 10+ negative reviews. The review content is completely made up. What an absolute waste of time. I have no idea how they stay in business.

I had written a negative review of my former company. It followed guidelines and was completely factual. When the company complained... the review was deleted. I re-worked it and put up a watered down version of the first review. It was accepted and then like the first... a few days later, it was deleted. I just wrote and submitted the third review...
On the site they say that they don't remove negative reviews at employer request but this is a lie. They delete them once the employer/company complains.

UPDATE: 4/17/2016. They deleted my review again after a few days. In addition, there were six or eight other reviews that were negative, some scathing but all within guidelines. All of those were deleted as well... Glassdoor.com deletes reviews if their sponsors complain. Don't expect the straight story from their reviews.

We are running a production and high end business. At times, you hire the wrong folks. Last person was warned, completely inefficient, lazy, late. She was let go. Of course she posted a one star review, with nothing to substantiate her semi idiotic claims. Semi because we are giving people the benefit of a doubt, otherwise fully idiotic.

We let go a low performing, high paid sales guy who did not generate a single dollar after staying for almost an year. He was reluctant to leave stating that it was a wrong decision to let him go. He threatened legal action blah blah. After an eventful, high drama exit(ofcourse he was paid severance), the very next day he posts a very negative comment about the company, how people are leaving this company, how people get fired at short notice, and he also stated that his Title was Software Developer. Infact this is all not true as we were awarded Top Workplaces in the region based on employee feedback. We flagged this post but glassdoor replies that they have re-reviewed it and it meets their Guidelines. Now what guidelines did they follow to fact check if this was true, if the person who is throwing allegations is the person that he claims to be. This is just a place for disgruntled fired losers. Glassdoor does not have ANY credibility.

Glassdoor offers nothing but inaccuracy, I have read many reviews about the company I currently work for and it is very clear to me that every employees who fails in his performance at his or her position and is fired few days later I see a very negative comments about the company but none of it is true, Glassdoor has become a site for slandering companies CEOs and CFOs, managers whether is true or not it is a place for failed people to release their anger.
I belive Glassdoor owners themselves know that their site is full of hot air and nothing more,
They use the site to collect personnel info to sell to recruiting agencies, basically they make money from slandering companies and their managements they should be ashamed of themselves for running such a scam.

For years I have used Glassdoor as an insight into the culture and overall attitude of current and former employees at companies I am interested in working for. I have always understood that there are going to be really good reviews and really bad reviews at any company. That is just the nature of the beast. In addition to the great and horrible reviews there were usually well throughout and written reviews that gave an honest insight into the pros and cons of working at a specific company.

I often found that I could get insight into things such as work/life balance, career opportunity, pay scale and raises, and the general culture and attitude of people who worked there. I also made an effort to contribute my own feedback and attempted to keep it updated as things improved or got worse.

About two years ago I left an employer for a better opportunity. I was unhappy working there overall and when I left I updated my review to indicate it was a previous employer and include my position. My review was written professionally and the balance of pros and cons was equally weighted. Many other reviews about the employer were very negative and the company overall rating was low.

After a couple of months I noticed in my contributions menu that my review had been removed. When I navigated to the company page there were about twenty new reviews that were raving about how great the company was. It appeared that all neutral and negative reviews were gone. Another interesting thing I noticed was that the company was now posting jobs and other information on Glassdoor.

Thinking I might have said something that violated Glassdoor rules I decided to write another review. I read all the rules posted on their site and again wrote a balanced review. Glassdoor approved this review but then about two months later removed it. I also watched new reviews get consistently posted and then they were removed a couple of weeks later.

Curious how this was happening I talked to a friend of mine who works in recruiting for large company. He informed me that as a paying member Glassdoor will take down just about anything they request. Also many companies flex their muscles and threaten lawsuits if content isn't removed.

After this experience I no longer have respect for Glassdoor or its reliability. It's sad that companies can manipulate a tool like this and prevent job seekers from properly evaluating a potential employer.

Like everyone else who signs up with glassdoor.com, I did so because I needed a job. After a year of getting four to six emails from them a day proclaiming "New job listings in your town!," only to discover that the listing had either expired or I'd seen the "new" job in different emails from glassdoor four times in the past week.

I've also begun getting spam job-referral emails from at least a dozen companies I never registered with, and they're all as bad (or worse) as glassdoor. Don't waste your time with these guys. They're only trying to make a buck off of our need for suitable employment by selling our email addresses to similar sites.

L signed up on Glassdoor which requires you to sign up for their site and leave a review from a former company you worked for. Once you have left the feedback, you can access what they claim are available jobs... NOT... I saw three jobs that l was interested in, once l clicked onto the company website the job was not available... and guess what? Wait for it... the job was posted that day... This jobsite is a joke, don't waist your time.

Fake positive reviews and companies pay to remove negative reviews. You will not get accurate information about companies that are truly awful to work for as those companies are the ones who pay to remove anything they don't like. Glassdoor you suck!

No screening process!
December 18, 2015

This site has no screening process! Every disgruntled employee (who potentially has been let go for just cause) can say salacious and unfounded things to attack businesses; rendering the rating system unreliable, injuring the reputation of the business, CEO's, and/or personnel. The damage is done once someone says something negative to tarnish the reputation of the business or about people who work for the company. I think Glass door needs to sincerely look at the screening model and do a better job unless it wants to be the TMZ of job search websites.

Beware!
December 3, 2015

Wow I wonder how long these guys are going to stay in business?!?! No fact checking - Allowing any disgruntled employee, vendor, boyfriend/ girlfriend, neighbour etc... basically anyone can write anything, no matter how slanderous and false, thus rendering the site useless. Negative reviews are one thing and expected from people who are fired. But making personal attacks and very serious false accusations? I don't even know if it's legal to publicly post such slanderous things! Yikes!

This site is a sham. They will publish anything without checking any facts contrary to their claims that they take "editorial review and checking very seriously." They are biased against employers and then will solicit the very same employer for paying ads and service with the "implied promise" that their editorial diligence about your company will be "more fair."

This is an extortion based revenue model. Avoid them at any cost.

Glassdoor allows companies to review and delete reviews they feel hurt them and they are allowed to post countless positve reviews of themselves via network reputations sites and if they pay, Glassdoor will fight negative reviews by not allowing them for countless ignorant reasons. I post recent about a company wide furlough at a major Aerospace Company and Glassdoor rejected it becasue it was too specific. It was becasue Honeywell was trying ot keep it quiet and Glssdorr is helping them. I thought it good idea to post a honest review on my company. It was not a good review but it was accurate. I read their guidelines, followed what they stated, and they removed the negative review anyway. Glssdorr alwayts rejects bad reviews but never good reviews for the same reasons. I see good reviews stay and bad reviews removed some time later. So they are trying to get more good reviews so they will get support from employers? I thought the were a respectable company, but not anymore.

So here is my opinion. I use other sites for a while but Glassdoor came to my eyes, so I thought it good to post a honest review on my company. It was mixed review with good and bad and what can work. I read their guidelines, and followed what they say. I made sure they are well written. Then, the review was removed by moderator. No feedback or any. I went back to their guideline and rewrite several times, same thing.

When I look at the reviews posted in Glassdoor, all are short, rough or lack accuracy. They are aligned from good, so good reviews catch eyes. Filtering works similarly. So review quality is no good, do not give an inside look and even gives a false impression. I searched the internet, I found quite a few complaints about similar situations.

When Glassdoor removes honest and informative reviews, they are just giving a false impression. The quality of reviews varies, so moderation is not done the same way for all reviews. I see Glassdoor reviews are censored or manipulated passively by that way, so it gives biased reflection of employee reviews. I thought they are reliable, but not anymore.

If you are considering believing reviews on this site consider this:
1. Companies can post their own reviews as often as they want. This will offset negative reviews and make the company appear better.
2. Fired Employees can post as often as they want. This will result in a "good" company appearing to be bad because one person (who legitimately could have been fired for theft, violence, discrimination, etc) goes on endless tirades.
3. Almost all reviews for all companies come in date clusters. This is because of the above where an angry ex employee posts endlessly which is followed by the company HR department posting twice as many (or vice versa).

Unlike "Yelp" where reviews come from actual diners and you can look at other reviews from the poster to gauge the trustworthiness of their review, this site makes everyone (company or fired employee) anonymous and you can't link to their account to see all the things they have posted. (i. E, a person has posted dozens of reviews on dozens of companies in a short period of time; likely it is because they keep getting fired or keep quitting v. s Yelp where a reviewer might have a dozen reviews but because you can click the user and see what they have said about other places (some of which you might have also been to) it helps set a bar for their reviews.) In the least, Glassdoor should allow access to any post made by the same user but they don't because they know it would tell the aforementioned story and kill their ad revenue that they generate by saying their site has X amount of unique users.

If you are in the market for a job, don't let this site and the reviews (positive or negative) enter into your decision making process. If you can get an interview, go to the interview, ask questions and if you are still unsure, ask to talk with some of the other employees that you would be working with. Most companies (if they are at the stage of offering you a position) would have no issue with this as they would be equally happy to ensure everyone is a fit for each other before officially offering the position.

Glassdoor is a SCAM!. If you pay, you are certain to receive at least 4 star. We are a small business and we were approached by glassdoor to sell us " a better way to profile the company". A marketing word for extortion!.

Bigger companies (Facebook, Amazon, etc.) are all at 4 stars and more. The reason, glassdoor is either scared of them or hoping to do business with them. We all know the story published in the New York Times about how horrible is Amazon. Except at glassdoor. 5 stars!
