I was using Gixen long before there was a pay option. The free service is still available and would probably suit my purposes, but I'm a paid customer because I appreciate the work that has been put into the site. It is simple and effective and when there are upgrades they are genuine upgrades and not just 'moving the furniture around' to look like something is being done. And by keeping me from getting "auction fever" is has probably saved me more than I've paid.
I have been using Gixen for some year and I suscribe to their mirror service too, the only problems I have had have been when ebay implemented new security mesures but in a few hours they solved them. Photo below is a purchase I made in Ebay Germany

The best kept secret in auction bidding. Hasn't failed me once. Allows me to place the maximum I'd pay with no emotion involved. Continued support, no complaints.
I'd never used a snipe tool before, but I sure had heard about them.
After many losing bids, I decided to give GIXEN a try, and to my surprise it really made a huge difference. It's totally easy to use, extremely reliable and it really WORKS! Way better value than all the others, only a small annual subscription fee. Huge difference, I'm a verrrrrry happy customer.
Gixen is second to none amongst Sniping services in both quality and value. The owner, Mario - a great guy who I've personally communicated with - is like a modern day Robin Hood in that he could charge much more for his service but instead opts for the "Glory!" God Bless him!

Gixen's web design hasn't really been updated since it launched, but the service is excellent and the back end has kept up with the latest (Ebay API, etc.). The service is very reasonably priced and there's no ancient desktop software to make it work. It has all the features you need and no nonsense. It has no doubt saved me thousands of dollars in snipes.
I have been using Gixen for well over a year, first the free service, and then finally I paid for two-years of enhanced service about a year ago. I haven't had the slightest problem in using it. It's so easy and economical. A Gixen button displays on the eBay page for the item you are bidding on, and you simply click that to bring up a Gixen window with the item number already entered in the window. You then sign in and enter your bid. Simple. I will definitely be renewing my two-year subscription when it runs out.

I highly recommend Gixen as an auction service. I've had Auction Sniper in the past but found that I am more successful with Gixen. The cost of the service is well within reason than most of it's competitors and their customer service is right there to assist if you have any questions. Gixen is my auction sniper of choice.
