Never again!
October 20, 2023

Brand new stove top has not worked properly since day 1. Service call 1 replaced some parts and still didn't work properly. Service call number 2 - order the rest of the parts they didn't replace on service call one. Awaiting back ordered parts called again today to find out my order was cancelled! Shameful of a company of this magnitude. Had they replaced the entire until from service call 1 my review may be different. I will never again buy or recommend this company to anyone!

On the outside of the box it calls for a 1.25" drill bit to cut a hole in the counter if needed.
Well, my granite counter needed one, so I called the counter fabricator and had them come out to drill the hole.
It further states 3 times in the installation instructions included in the box that the hole should be 1.25 inches.
The problem is, once you have that hole and try to install it, the "Base Upholder" a plastic piece that SHOULD sit on top of the counter and under the faucet assembly to support the faucet ( pretty much exactly as the name of the part describes) it will fall through the 1.25 inch hole.
Now you are left with a 1.25" hole where what you actually needed was 0.5 inch.
My first thought was that there was a part missing or the hole the fabricator drilled was larger.
Well, that isn't the case. I went on GE's website and looked up the part GXK255TBN and the instructions that came in my box ( Rev. 2 10-22) had now been updated to Rev. 3 dated 2023. I guess they are aware of the mistake, but didn't bother trying to get the boxes with the faulty information off the shelves.

This is a HUGE error on their part... and if you already have the hole in your counter, this shouldn't be a concern for you... however for anyone that needs the hole drilled, this can potentially ruin your countertop because you cannot install this unit in the hole that it calls for multiple times.
I'm out $250 for the hole getting drilled and another $130 for this unit which can't be installed in the hole that is now in my counter due to their instructions.

I purchased my GE refrigerator in January 2021 and did not even use the refrigerator at first due to kitchen renovations. Not even by its third year does it keep my food at a normal temperature causing concern for wasted money on food but also food Bourne illness exposure. Shelly the case manager at GE reaches out and tells me she can cover parts but not service fee - because what is it to them? Meanwhile, I've been covering costs for wasted foods and waisted $1438.00 to purchase the $#*!ty product. Atrocious product robotic and uncaring customer service.

There are not enough worlds to express how horrible
This company is. We have appliances that had known issues and they have been incapable of fixing it. Keep canceling and rescheduling. Customer service is a joke as they keep telling up there is nothing they can do. Five months of terrible terrible service and they still haven't fixed a thing covered under their warranty.

Beware of products
October 9, 2023

I purchased a washer and dryer. The dryer didn't work the second day they brought out a new one. Now it's been worked on 3 times and the tech is coming out for the 4th time. I don't know if the tech doesn't know what he's doing or the product just sucks. I ask for a new dryer and they're giving me the runaround about it with my dryer is still under warranty do not buy the product. It took me two hours and 45 minutes to dry baby clothes and five hours to dry adult clothes. This is ridiculous.

Washing machines
October 5, 2023

This complaint is specific to their washing machines, though all other GE appliances are equally trashy.
I'm an appliance technician who works on these appliances EVERY DAY, and what I don't understand is how GE can copy the design of other manufacturers and STILL do it wrong. All I am trying to do is replace the shocks for the tub on a front load washer, which is normally an easy job, but the pins holding the shocks in place will not come out. And this is an Electrolux design. Tell me how it's so easy to work on an Electrolux, yet GE finds a way to make an easy job seem impossible?

Within 2 months the washer started literally moaning. Sealed motor of some kind was leaking oil everywhere. Even after repair didn't work good. Just discovered today that the water temperature is not working, hot, warm, cool or cold is ALL cold. Yes, I checked the hot water valve. This machine is junk. GE cares more about profit than manufacturers a good product.

My GE oven was broken ~1.5 years ago. A GE appliance technician came, but he could not repair it. GE still charge me $129. The tech told me that if I brought a GE oven to replace it, I could get the money back from their rebate program. So I bought a GE oven. I mailed the receipt and the company form back to the company a long time ago but never heard back from them. So promises were not kept! Also, my interactions with their customer service give me a sense that this is a really antiquated company. Its operations and technology feel really inefficient and old. I think the company should probably belong to a museum.

Don't buy any GE product
September 29, 2023

Purchased a range - within a week of installation after using the burners 5 times & the oven once, after turning the oven off for less than 5 minutes, 2 three inch sparks flew out of the right front of the range. GE Appliances won't authorize a replacement & Home Depot won't take it back. Five packages of repair items were sent to my house. Three technicians were sent. Once it's "fixed," I'm not sure I'll know how the range is supposed to work because of items that don't work like the owners manual says they are supposed to work. Even a letter to the president of GE (Kevin Nolan in Louisville KY) did not get results other than someone following my repairs. I will NEVER buy another GE appliance again. So sad.

I bought the oven in 2020 and have had service twice. The factory did not set the range properly. Both service calls were about the ability of this range to reach temperature or that it took 20 minutes for it to reach temperature. The second issue is not resolved. Now I am on a third call on the extended warranty and the control panel went out. I had an appointment for today and the technician was cancelled this morning. They have no one until next week to fix it. The first technician was incompetent. That is 2 weeks without an oven. Do not buy their products. They are scheisters.

Purchased GE Profile brand new on line Feb. 2023. The end of August the compressor stopped working and we have no refrigerator.Sept 19,2023 not repaired and it is under warranty and we also took the costly extended coverage. We had to go out and buy a replacement refrigerator (not GE) to get by until the repairs are completed.GE customer care (laughable). Would strongly advise against buying a GE product. Haier is the actual manufacturer. It is awful the way we have been treated after spending 3K

I have been trying to get my rebate for a year now and all I get are excuses.I bought the 5 appliances from Spencers in Glendale and so far no help at all. I have called in and had the claim escalated and exception advanced twice with a further promise of a check a month later. I call back every 2 months and get nowhere. I am on the phone with Eric at rebate and again I am getting excepted and escalated as they cant find anything on the last escalation number again. They also cant do anything on the phone without at least a mimum 1/2 hour converstaion. I have to select a one rating because there are no negative numbers.

Once a fan, no longer
September 15, 2023

We purchased GE Monogram fridge, double convection oven and microwave as part of a kitchen remodel (cooktop and dishwasher are Bosch). Inside of 8 years microwave has failed and been replaced and fridge has had $2K in repairs and died this morning. New KitchenAid coming tomorrow. Every appliance retailer I called said LG, Samsung, Frigidaire and GE were at the bottom of their reliability ratings. My experience supports that. Plus call GE service and it's a week for a "diagnostition" to come to your home and then another 7+ days for parts. Use 3rd party service and they try to tell you your warranty is void. All this while you now have no fridge to store your food and have thrown away $400+ worth of food. Will never buy GE again as their quality has gone downhill after the were sold to Haier.

Avoid this product - ours cost $1000 and failed three months after the one year warranty ended. The opening of the drawer and operation of the compactor is entirely dependent on a flimsy, plastic foot pedal with weak hinges. Once the left hinge fell apart, we were unable to easily open the drawer to even put trash in. Our previous Whirlpool compactor lasted 30 years. The times they are a changin'!

Washing machine
September 14, 2023

I bought a GE top loading washing machine 4 years ago, for $1200. Today, I had to buy a new washer. 4 years old, and too much money to repair. What a rip-off. I will NEVER buy GE again.

Service repair takes a minimum of 3 weeks
September 13, 2023

After two separate attempts to get my refrigerator repaired, which required two separate visits each and took a minimum of 3 weeks for each service call (10 days to 2 weeks to come assess the problem, another 10 days to 2 weeks to order the part and return to install it), my refrigerator still won't maintain a cold temperature. You would think a failed refrigerator would constitute an emergency considering all of the food that has to be thrown away, but after two months I still don't have a functional refrigerator.

I recommend not burdening yourself within one of their crappy appliances because if something goes wrong it's essentially unrepairable.
