Something has gone seriously wrong with Gazelle. I previously sold them two iPhones and one iPad. I had no problems in the past with these transactions so I sent them my iPad Air 2. It was in perfect condition, it always lived in an Apple leather case and rarely left my desk. I just wasn't using it, which is why I was going to sell it. I inspected it before I carefully packed it and it was PERFECT. Then Gazelle receives it and lowers their payment by $41 because of a big scratch on the back. A SCRATCH THEY PUYT THERE! You could see from the depth of the scratch that someone pushed it away from them across a table top and some grit put a 6' long scratch parallel to the edge. Probably some summer help carelessly handled it and damaged something I shipped in pristine condition. When I refused their adjusted low-ball offer they shipped it back. Now, I have a scratched iPad. AVOID Gazelle at all cost. They've become careless, unscrupulous and didn't even apologize. They owe me for damaging my iPad, but I'll never see a cent. They probably had too many of that model and didn't want it so they low-balled me after they damaged it, or maybe damaged it so they could low-ball me- I'll never know. Very unethical company.
I had used gazelle in the past and had no problem. This time I sent in two iPhones (7plus) after agreeing to $342 for both. I got an email on 6/20 that they received my box. Today, 8/3, I emailed them asking for a status on my check and they wrote back saying the order was canceled because the box arrived empty?
I find it highly suspect that they could email me that the box was received but then radio silence afterward. Why didn't they email me that the order was canceled and that the box was empty?
It has to be someone at gazelle who stole both phones. Unbelievable.
I called their customer service and was told to call the USPS to see what they had to say. Without any package tracking info that will be a waste of time. Even with tracking all they would be able to say is when it was delivered.
I'm positive that someone at gazelle stole these two iPhones. Just today I've had three extremely suspicious calls from what looked like my old contact information from my old phone. What the hell?
STAY AWAY FROM GAZELLE AT ALL COSTS!
I was ripped off the same way. I kept a protector box and screen protector on my phone my galaxy 7 and it was in excellent condition. They quoted me a price of $60 and when they got the phone they offered $6 for scratches that were not even there, because I took pictures of my phone. I think someone needs to report the company. When I read the reviews this seems to be a recurring theme.
Sent two phones in mint condition, they lowered the offers because of "damage" then tried sending me a picture of a damaged phone that wasn't even the model I sent them. Both phones were mint condition and packaged in bubble wrap. The fight has just begun!
Sent them a flawless phone, they quoted $202. When the phone arrived they claimed there were scratches and downgraded the quote to $168. The phone had no scratches. I would never do business with them. Scammers. They quote the highest to get you to sell to them but always downgrade the price after receiving the phone.
Used be good and had used them in the past with good experiences. Must be under new management who has decided to scam people because now they will suddenly claim your device is bad condition and pay you almost nothing for it, or claim they will return it but not do so. WHAT A RIPOFF this place has become! You'd be better off donating your device to a charity that can use it.
I have used Gazelle several times in the past and had NO issues. They receive the phone and pay you fast. Easy and done no problems. Well I think either they have fallen on hard times or decided to see how intelligent the end-user sending the phone in actually is. I sent in two phones recently (iPhone 7 and 6s) that were in excellent condition. Neither ever dropped and always from day one protected in Apple smart cases. The reply back on both phones were they had excessive scratches and in poor condition (the guy that reviewed them must have left his jam jar glasses at home that day). They reduced both offers on phones by 50% almost. Look, I am not one hard up for the cash but do not like dealing with tire kickers on selling items like this on FB... etc. It is easier for me to send them in take a little less and move on. Well this time I told them just send them back and they can sit in drawer or I will let my son try and sell them on FB marketplace. I really did not care! Amazing within 24 hours I now received full price and an email stating they were exactly as I described. I would suggest looking at other sites on the net next time.
This is the second time I used Gazelle to sell a used I Phone. I accurately described the condition as extremely good as it was used very rarely and fully protected with a heavy duty Otterbox and glass screen protector. This unit was in nearly perfect condition and I offered to sell it for $161.00 as per the site 's value. Now I realize that was too low. They responded saying it was scratched, non working speakers and a broken charge port. BS! This phone looked fine and operated perfectly, except for the crappy battery life. The last time I sold them a phone, I really didn't really look it over closely, but it was used even less than this one and protected the same way. I felt that maybe I had missed some minor scratches or something, so when they lowered their offer, I trusted them and made a mental note to closely inspect the phone if I used them again. Well here we are, feeling foolish for trusting them and having to accept the offer for I suspect that if I decline, it will probably be returned with newly inflicted issues. Paranoid much?
Time to try a new service in the future, and after searching today, there seem to be several that would have made a better offer from the start. Live and hopefully learn.
Sent them very nice iPhone 7 like new offered me 200 than after they got it
Said it was scratched said offer now
100 phone had no scratches at all
Run from them
I sent my pristine Iphone in and at first they said I had Find my Iphone on. I knew i didn't so i called them to have them recheck. After that they were claiming the device was scratched and not unlocked when it had no scratches and was in fact unlocked. I am waiting for it to be returned and I am glad I took pictures of it ahead of time and can confirm the phone condition and IMEI. Do yourself a favor and do not do business with this company.
Like many people, Gazelle lowered the money offered by $100 after they received it. The phone was kept in an Otter case and had a screen protector from the second I bought the phone brand new. How does a phone get scratched when in an Otter case? I examined the phone too before I sent it in and there were ZERO SCRATCHES. ZERO. Z - E - R - O. So, I call BS on Gazelle's business model and had them send back phone. I wonder how many people that just agree to take their lowball offer.
I was promised $150 for my iPhone. After I sent in my phone, Gazelle notified me that my offer was updated to $50 (yes, $100 less than originally promised) because 1) my phone was not unlocked and 2) it had too many scratches. Both of these are false. My phone was indeed unlocked, and it had basically no scratches. I asked them to explain why they lied to me. They gave no explanation but still immediately updated my offer to $110, still $40 less but with the same two reasons. So now my phone is worth $110 instead of $50 even though the reasons for why it's not worth the original $150 is the same? What is wrong with them? Only when this happened did I search up reviews for Gazelle and realize that the same thing has happened to way too many people. I wish I had known that before, otherwise I would've never gone through with the hassle of interacting with Gazelle.
They promised $63 for my I-Phone the changed their minds and said $9 because it was scratched, A NEW PHONE? I took a video before sending it for this reason, these people are liars thinking we are fools... stay away!
Gazelle switch my excellent condition phone when I refused the lower offer they sent me. They sent me back and old scratch up phone save your time and your phone they bait and switch BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY.
Their entire business model is based on bait and switch.
They bait you with the offer for your device, only to receive it and switch the offer (always lower).
Run away and look elsewhere to sell your devices.
There is a better company based in Missouri called Tronics Pay. Stay away from Gazelle. Tronics Pay is legit and do not scam. They will buy many brands of smart phones. They buy smart watches. They buy ipods and iPads and iPhones. They buy Sony, LG, Nokia, Motorola and more. Visit www.TronicsPay.com to sell your phone.
I have an iphone 6s I was trying to sell. I went to the Sprint store and they were going to offer me a $70 in store credit for it but I opted to go with Gazelle since they offer cash. The phone is only about 8 months old as my previous 6s had to get replaced through my insurance plan. Sprint said the phone was in perfect condition.
The initial estimate that Gazelle sent me was $120 which sounded great. I did make an error and accidentally selected iphone 6splus rather than 6s.
When I got the quote from Gazelle they downgraded the quote to $3! The reason was that they claimed my screen was cracked and that the phone had an unacceptable amount of scratches. I thought perhaps the phone may have been damaged enroute to the Gazelle office.
I turned down their offer and had the phone sent back to me. When I received it it's still in its perfect condition. The rep I spoke to did not have any answers and said I could send it again if I wanted to.
Complete waste of time.
I have used Gazelle once before without a hitch. April 1st I purchased a used AT&T IPhone again, went to my AT&T store to add to my account only to be told the previous owner did not pay off the phone and the one I received could not be used as the IMEI was reported. Emailed Gazelle twice with no response so I phoned and was given a rude customer service rep who told me to return it but could not give me an ETA on how long until a refund would be credited and stated I needed to provide info from AT&T stating the phone was not paid off? Will not use Gazelle again, now I am out 400$ and have a stolen phone!
I shipped an Ipad to Gazelle in excellent condition. The iPad sat on my desk for years and did not have a mark on it. I packed and shipped in the Gazelle USPS box. The box is half the thickness of former boxes from Gazelle. Now they claim the iPad arrived cracked. Too bad for me. I won't use this option again.

Paid for a phone on a monday with Expedited shipping. Nothing happens all week. I call on Friday and " your order got lost in our distribution system" and they told me they wouldn't have ever known if I hadn't called. They said they "dont have alerts for this kind of thing". Seriously? You dont have alerts for customer orders placed with "X" shipping that arent fulfilled in "X" time? SEEMS LIKE THE #1 ALERT THAT AN ECOMMERCE SITE SHOULD HAVE. They said they would push it through on Monday. I call again on Monday for an update... gues what... NOTHING HAS HAPPENED. No sign of anything happening on their end. Overall, terrible experience. This was my first time using this site and I'm never using it again. It's the end of day 8 after purchasing and have no idea when my phone will be delivered.
Answer: No experience with that. Experience with their staff and their customer service, don't fo business with them. My phone was returned in October, and I still have not received my refund. They finally sent me an email saying my return was received, in December but tracking showed it received in October, and still no refund.
Answer: I would not buy from or sell to Gazelle regardless of what they claim.
Answer: No! Dishonest! Had to file a dispute with my credit card company tinged my money back and that took 3 months
