First time seller with Gazelle and not a happy customer! I sent them 2 iPhones in the same box tagged from Gazelle by USPS: iPhone6s and iPhone XR64GB. Gazelle received the iPhone 6s, which was not worth $, so decided to have them recycle the iPhone. The iPhone XR 64GB was worth $192, however, they are telling me that Gazelle did not receive the iPhone XR 64GB (same box as the iPhone 6s worth $0). Why would I not send it to get $192? On Gazelle's website the iPhoneXR 64GB sells for $409-$449.95! I have tried emailing, chatting on-line and calling *******520 and *******553 with no answer and no resolution. Pam L
I spent over $1,500 for three iPhones. When I tried to activate them - they were all under financial obligation - basically stolen, and now worthless. When I reached out to Gazelle - they said tough luck. I'm out GAZELLE LIKE THE PLAGUE. They are crooks.
Don't buy from this company!. I don't know who they hire to do the phones inspection but when they described something in good condition there suppose not to have a deep scratch inside the glass
Sent in an Iphone7 with minimal scratches for an initial offer of $70. They claimed that the damage was excessive and offered a price equal to their "broken & does not turn on" grading of $10. They try to get users to send in their phones and low ball them. I am currently waiting for the return of my phone. I am glad i took photos and video of my phone before I mailed it to them.
Sent them an iPhone 8 in perfect condition. I don't mean "good" it did not have a single flaw. Gazzelle said they would give me $116 for it. After I sent the phone to them they said the phone had an unacceptable number of scratches and changed the offer to $0.00. They said they would recycle it. Or I could have them send it back. It's a scam no way they would destroy a perfect phone.
BEWARE!
BEWARE! Bait and Switch. Take multiple photos of your phone, every inch. Take a video of your phone. They found scratches on my phone and adjusted my payment down. Unfortunately I only took two pictures of phone in box (before shipping) and couldn't get a close up of the area to dispute the scratches they found were not there prior to me shipping. In any account the scratches were minimal at best and on the back cover, could probably be buffed out. Doubt they were there since phone has been in OtterBox since I left the store. I used them anyway since adjustment was only $15 (not worth my time). But if they try and change everyone's by $10-$15 it's a pretty large sum.
I would recommend not using as you see by other customers terrible reviews. But if you do, cover yourself.
They offered $247 for my ipad (in super clean condition)
Then they received it, said there were light scuffs on the screen, and lowered the offer to $47!
I said rejected the offer and said send it back to me!
Bit of a bait and switch operation I fear
I sent in two phones, both in good working order. They lost one phone and then tried to say I sent in an entirely different phone. I filed a complaint in which they reported I would get a follow-up. Well, I did not. I did however get a follow-up offer stating that the phone I sent in had a cracked glass and too many scratches so it was only eligible for recycling. That is not the condition of the phone when I sent it in. I can only believe they are not careful with the phones or are just scamming us to make additional profit. I will never use gazelle again!
I was quoted a price for my phone. Sent it in then they said it was wrong & want to keep it & "recycle " it. I said no n send it back to me. Well i never received my phone back or money do I'm out both
Sent them a brand new unused phone as a test. They claimed it had to many scratches and gave me an offer for half of what they originally offered.
I submitted a Galaxy Note 8 that had been received from Verizon as a replacement for a phone that was thought to be lost, but was later found. The Note 8 was either new or refurbished and in like new condition. Gazelle offered $160 based on the condition I reported.
However, they came back after their assessment and said:
Screen Doesn't Fully Light Up: We found that your LCD screen has some discoloration, defective spots or does not work properly.
Scratches: We found that the device has more than the acceptable amount of scratches.
The screen appeared to work fine to me and there were no visible scratches or blemishes that I could see before I sent it to Gazelle.
They lowered their offer to $57.
I think this was a bait and switch situation and I will not deal with Gazelle again based in this experience.
NEVER AGAIN IN LIFE will I place an order with Gazelle. First, I placed the order, waited for my package which never arrived. I contacted Gazelle the day following my expected arrival date. I was THEN informed the phone was no longer available. So I placed an order for the same phone with less storage, which was cheaper and they said my order would be expedited for the inconvenience. The day after my package was suppose to arrive the second time I contacted Gazelle again they sent my package through regular USPS mail, the request for expedited shipping was "overlooked" which meant I had to continue to wait, and couldn't get my refund back until the phone was released. SMH. Then USPS shipped my device back to the Gazelle warehouse. My advice to anyone looking to purchase is through Gazelle "DON'T" if you have other options PLEASE utilize them. And you're welcome in advance.
Nightmare don't buy any iPhone 11 Pro Max) I spent $1,069 total. This is a scam they sell a locked phone that is useless junk to buyers, this cost me days dealing with this. L spent money with other services trying to unlock it and didn't work, Gazelle stated the iPhone 11 was unlocked but it is not. Warning do not be a victim just buy from Apple because this place is a rip-off
IPhone 11 Pro Max 256GB (Unlocked) - Space Gray / Good #1 iPhone 11 Pro Max 256GB (Unlocked) Space Gray / Good $1,069.00 this was a lie and untrue. It was not unlocked
Phone sent in was in excellent condition, they downgraded it from $258 to $60. When asked they said "it was either scratched or damaged" but could not say where, after arguing they went up to $120 which was still less than half of the original quote. I took video and pictures of the phone when it was sent in too.
I had also purchased an iPhone XS from them in "excellent" condition. When it arrived battery health was at 95%. However within two weeks battery was at 70% health. Now 6 months later the phone will no longer power on, and understandably they won't do anything as I could have damaged it. However, I know I didn't. I have a feeling when I bring it in to Apple they will find non-Apple parts.
I had used gazelle 4 times before this. Twice to sell my phone, and twice for my wife's. Three of those times were flawless but also years ago now. In my opinion it seems they have gotten too big for their own good and don't seem to care about customer assurance anymore. I will choose from one of the many other options to sell a phone in the future. I will also most certainly never buy from them again.
Purchased a used iPad. Gazelle asserts that they thoroughly check each device including camera, battery and operating system.
That assertion seems unlikely because I received a locked device that requires the original owner's Apple ID and password to get into the device.
Very disappointing and they say it takes 5 days to issue a refund once they receive the returned device.
This was a complete waste of time.
I had an iPhone 6s that was in near perfect condition. I used it for only a year and it had no scratches that I could see. They offered me $45 but then after receiving my phone they claimed it had scratches and was only worth $1. I think they try to rip off their customers by offering nothing in hopes that they just accept it to avoid further hassle.
I used Gazelle a few times before. It's been a couple years though. It was always so easy and fast. I loved them and would recommend them to everyone. Not anymore. I recently sent in an old laptop that stated it would be $79 for it. The laptop had a couple minor scuffs on the outside but worked perfectly. I cleaned it out, set it back to factory settings and sent it in. I got a "revised offer" that said I would get $0 for it because it was an "unsupported model" I emailed asking what model it was and was told they weren't sure but that I could request a re-inspection. I requested one and asked if they could let me know what exact model they think it is. Got no response till I followed up and was told again it was just an "unsupported model". No answers at all. If they are going to deny giving me what was promised, they should give more of an explanation than that. I will never use this site again.
I bought a phone from this company and i was so excited considering it took TWO WEEKS for it to come in. I bought the iPhone unlocked (keep that in mind) when i went to go connect with my carrier i found out i was lied to and it was LOCKED with a different carrier. I have been phone less for some time now and I'm stuck again with no phone! DO NOT USE GAZELLE
Beware - they will ask if you want to recycle the mobile device for $0 rather than purchase the device. Gazelle will claim there are multiple problems with a device that is in great shape.
I submitted an offer for my iPhone 7 that was in great condition. It had always been in a case with a screen protector - no scratches to be noted. When they received the phone, they stated "excessive scratches" and lowered their offer by $60+. I declined, and they mailed a phone back. The phone returned to me does have quite a few scratches. The battery was also at 10%. I mailed mine in fully charged. I don't trust this company at all.
Answer: No experience with that. Experience with their staff and their customer service, don't fo business with them. My phone was returned in October, and I still have not received my refund. They finally sent me an email saying my return was received, in December but tracking showed it received in October, and still no refund.
Answer: I would not buy from or sell to Gazelle regardless of what they claim.
Answer: No! Dishonest! Had to file a dispute with my credit card company tinged my money back and that took 3 months
