I have never in my life had dealings with such a bunch of rogues. I ordered a plant to be delivered for a birthday but on acknowledgment they had put my home address instead. Impossible to contact them, no reply to emails/support tickets of which I sent many. Plant received by me instead. Early July received an email from them saying my complaint had been passed to Customer Service to reply. Now August 7th & nothing received. What tricksters! They should be investigated by trading standards and closed down. DON'T HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH THEM.
I purchased a Heartbreaker hebe from this company. 6 weeks later I received a dying hebe. Their customer service is awful. Order from this company at your peril. No phone number, Twitter account down, ticket system ignored.
I ordered plants in March, they arrived several weeks later half dead, and subsequently died a few days later. I tried to get my problem sorted with them, but to no avail. I have since escalated the situation via Resolver (which is linked to Money Saving Expert.com). I have still had no refund or replacement plants. Do yourself a favour and stay away from this company.
Gardening Express sent me a wrong plant which was genetically modified and not the variant that I had ordered. In addition, 2 out of 3 branches were broken when the plant arrived at my door - after 2,5 months of waiting time. When I sent them pictures of the damage, asking for an exchange, they told me they couldn't see any issue or damage on the pictures, instead they congratulated me to the plants that I received wishing me pleasure and joy with my purchase which is distastingly completely ignoring that I'd sent a clear complaint requesting exchange or refund and referring to the fact that they would otherwise act unlawfully. Seeing other reviews from other customers it is very clear to me they trick people fully consciously and they do this on a large scale which brings this close to fraud. I would say from what I experienced that they sell wrotten or damaged plants to online customers hoping they get away with it as the customer does only realise the plants are damaged or wrong after they've paid. A company like Gardening Express should be forced to close their business operations - they are truly unethical. Don't use them, stay far far far away from them.
Worst company I have ever had the misfortune to deal with.
Waited a month for delivery they are using covid as excuse for non or late delivery. Plants arrived diseased covered in black spots with tiny flies crawling all over them, as per their previous response to emails "ticket raised" that's all you get from them no concern of the awful condition or any suggestion of refund or replacement. Contact your bank or credit card company and get a chargeback done fill out form send pics and get your money back this is the only way to stop this sort of company from trading in this way. I have posted this on other website so hope it helps other people in my situation.
First and last time ordering plants online, this is the worst online business I have had the displeasure of dealing with. Told me my plants were being hand picked and despatched within a few days, boxes arrived damaged and plants had quite clearly been inside for weeks
Appalling bunch of cowboys. Still owe us for a dead clematis that arrived 6 weeks ago, nine weeks after ordering. They blame everything on COVID... so how does every other online company manage? They are like Banksy... impossible to contact. E-tickets? Might as well write to the Martians. See their Trust Pilot reviews too where they are ranked 193 out of 194 garden centres. They've been reported to Watchdog, the Press, Rip off Britain, various GOV sites and Trading Standards. Christopher Bonnett their MD is too busy enjoying his £1.2 million house Piece Cottage' to bother about his customers. Their come-uppance is due very soon!
Avoid at all costs, I've lost nearly£50 to this outfit; ordered plants in April waited patiently as knew there maybe a delay - DEAD AND ROTTING PLANTS received in June
Contacted them immediately with photos and am still waiting for an answer - pictures clearly showed that what they sent were probably dead before they packed them - and sent out over a week later (after they packed them tightly in tape and saturated them with water and shoved into a box) and never even received my full order

Tree never received order in April. Refusing to deal with the complaint in the correct manner. I would not buy anything from this company. They are now saying we have had the delivery when we never had it to try and get out of giving our money back. Disgusting customer service and this company are clearly ripping a lot of people off. Please keep away from this company
I placed my order in March and they arrived in June the plants were totally immature and despite putting them into intensive care they all died. The only replies i get from them are computerised. I do not expect any replacement plants as I expect that they will go out of business no one can survive this poor level of customer service.
Non existant customer service has left me £450 out of pocket. The only way to contact them is to raise a "ticket" you get a cut and paste response & then nothing else. Scammers!
Absolutely rubbish. Plants were sent in a broken cardboard box, multiple layers stacked inside. Pretty obvious to find out that the bottom ones were dead after being squashed by other pots. Actually, half of the plants didn't survive. Not only that, but it also missed out on 2 pots and never arrived. I tried to get a refund, at least for the ones that didn't arrive, but the only automatic response from customer service. I tried to contact them again but this time, they didn't even reply and closed the ticket. I know it's hard to do business during this unprecedented situation, but at least some honesty. They lack service, love for plants, and most of all, attitude to do business. I regret buying plants from them.
I placed my order at the end of May, they took my payment immediately. I am STILL waiting for my order. They cannot be contacted. They are a disgrace, i think they have taken advantage of people at this lockdown period, greed has made them accept orders they cannot fill in a timely manner.
Waited ages for this plant... then it was delivered to me dead. Kept emailing customer service via their ticket system with photos of damaged box and dead plant on arrival (they don't accept any other form of communication) and they just cancel the ticket with no refund or replacement or communication offered. This company should not be allowed to operate with how it treats its customers. Daylight robbery!

After several weeks and requests to cancel being ignored I received an abysmal collection of plants. Worst was a grafted twig. At no time did they advertise the tree would be grafted. What its root stock is, is anyone's guess. Only 4 of the 10 hostas are alive and the shrub is half the size and twice the price of one I bought in B&Q. My money was taken within hours of me placing my order and I have waited 9 weeks for the delivery. I read a review on This is Money and noted a Gardening Express spokesperson stating ´orders could be cancelled if they hadn't been posted'... All lies. My request was ignored and any returns will be at my expense. Disgusted with the shocking customer service and the appalling state of the plants received. Support your local nurseries and steer clear of this unscrupulous company please.

Paid £40 for a bi-coloured Buddleja, When it arrived it's a standard purple Buddleja with very small and branches broken. Worth probably no more than £10.
Now trying to reclaim my money via my bank, and have reported to watch dog.

I ordered some bedding plants on the 23rd of June, 2020. Then I saw the reviews of this company, I wish I had seen them before I ordered. I got canned emails saying due to Covid 19 I could expect further delays to those already stated on their website, so I asked to cancel the order. I did this by means of their website support ticketing system as this is the only means of contact offered. No phone number, no email and canned responses. That in itself should have rung alarm bells, so be warned!
To date, I still have no idea of when the plants are likely to be delivered, no information has been offered and I've had to raise a dispute with my credit card company. My bank has said they are looking at a 45 day turnaround on disputes so until then I am out of pocket.
I shop online a lot, I have to say this is the single worst shopping experience I've ever had. I feel ripped off. My recommendations would be as the title says, avoid, avoid, avoid!
I have to say, it looks to me like this company is playing on Covid 19! If they are so behind due to the crisis, then they should be stopping taking orders until such time as they can actually fulfil their existing orders. Basic business principles! They seem to be cashing in with a great little excuse for their shambolic and virtually non existent customer service.
On 22nd April order pear and salix tree still no plants, after threatening to take it further, received an email saying its with yodel but tracking no doesn't work, its a shocking disgrace at least I only spent £21 feel sorry for others DON'T TOUCH WITH A BARGE POLE RUBBISH X no rating at all
Delivers very little. Their marketing is excellent their products are poor. 11 emails numerous calls (all chargeable by the way). Products I ordered 6 items so not a small order. They arrived a month late in a distressed condition. Would NEVER buy from them again. Even if it were free.

Answer: Suggest complaining to the UK government's Coronavirus Business Complaints process as sadly many people have had the same experience including myself. Their Quality "tickets" process is all part of the scam.
