GAME stole my money.
October 2, 2025

GAME stole my money
GAME stole money from me.
I bought a bundle GAME was selling for £304.98 the 2 products (Metal Gear Delta deluxe edition £89.99 and a collectors box £214.99)
Due to a technical error they cancelled my preorder, sent me a link to reorder it. That just brought up the bundle with a total of £304.98, paid, done.
Now they sent me the deluxe part and had to cancel the collectors part. But only refunded £150 and their reasoning is because on the new order they made me order, they built it by pricing the 2 products at £150 / £154.98.
The deluxe edition is only worth £89.99 as sold by every video game seller.
They are out right refusing to give me the missing £65.
Just to be clear, they never showed me/told me the individual prices for the 2 products before and after i purchased the items as they werent selling them individually, only as one product.
Disgusting! Iv been back and forth with them for a month.
They even had the cheek to relist the collectors box on the website as £214.99 and still ignoring me about them billing me incorrectly.

I have always bought my games from GAME UK. However, will no longer be using them moving forward!
I pre-ordered Black Ops 6 on July 1,2024 for the price advertised on their website. All was well until I received an email from them a month later saying that my order was cancelled without any explanation! I checked my online GAME account and there was no pending orders showing and I still can't see my order history for all the games I've purchased through them! I then tried to contact their customer services. There is no phone number available first of all! They also make it extremely difficult to get in touch with their online chat. Every option I selected directed me to their FAQs! I had to then select the 'Product Information' option to get me connected to online chat! The agent assured me that my order was still in their system and that the order cancellation email was sent out due to a system error! With regards to my order not appearing under My Orders on their website, he said that it will be rectified!

After a few days, I then receive another email from their customer services stating the order has been cancelled "as per my request". I replied back and said I never asked them to cancel the order to which they replied back saying the order was cancelled due to low stock. How can you run out of stock a month before a game's release date!?
The reason I am frustrated and annoyed is because on multiple occasions they provided me with conflicting and incorrect information regarding the status of my order. I asked for compensation for wasting my time by providing me with incorrect information so many times and also for the time it will take to pre order from another company! My request was completely ignored by them!
Also, they are still taking pre-orders for BO6 on their website even though they do not have stock! Go figure!

Message to GAME - Please do not ask me to get in touch with your customer services team because they were of no help! Get in touch with me if you want it dicuss providing compensation for messing me about and I'll then consider shopping with you again!

I received a notification on Saturday that DPD had received my order, I knew I wouldn't be able to receive that order on Monday or Tuesday so set the delivery for Wednesday, and arranged to work from home on that day. I was working from home all morning and was definitely at home when the courier/delivery was to arrive. Half an hour after the time a lot passed I checked online to find that the courier had lied and stated I was not at home. I reached out to DPD online chat and reported the issue. I explained I had had to arrange to work from home that day and that I needed them to deliver my parcel. I was assured my parcel would be sent the next day (today, Thursday). I have had to take another day out of the office and now my parcel is sitting in the DPD depot and there is NO WAY of contacting dpd. I place this order nearly 2 weeks ago and still do not have it and paid 10£ for delivery. I do not trust DPD to have handled it with care and am really not sure why I have to pay the price of this ill service. What am I supposed to do?

Without any response from Game I sent you another message on Thursday reporting the courier hadn't even loaded my parcel into the van at any stage I. Thursday yet their notification stated that 'an unexpected error occurred'. I had taken another day out the office to work from home to not receive my parcel. There was no way of contacting Game or dpd. No one was listening and I had lost 2 days waiting. I had sent you another ticket asking to refund my order and cancel the so called 'delivery'.

I returned to work on Friday and received a message stating dpd would deliver on that day. They same driver dumped the parcel with one of my neighbours and lied about where he delivered and to whom.

I spent the weekend knocking on neighbours doors, even neighbours I would not speak with which was terrible. I had not only paid a large amount of many for order, paid £10 for delivery, lost time from work, but had to then hunt for my parcel because of Dpd drivers incompetency. I found my parcel at no 48.

This has to be the worst shopping experience I have ever had.

Upon inspecting the outer packaging I could see the box was damaged. Opened the box to find the Hogwarts game badly crushed. I have not bothered to inspect the PlayStation after seeing the game broken. I do not trust the condition of this item after Dpd have messed it around.

I'm very upset with the whole experience between dpd and Game, and It has really effected my mental health.

I had a reply from Game on Monday 11/12 asking me to send them photos, I have and no reply. I emailed twice today, Tuesday 12/12 and still no reply. I'm asking for them to take the order back as the outer packaging and inner content is damaged and they are not saying anything.

Ordered a Pre-Owned PS5 With Controller Listed as Good Condition fully working order.
Paid an extra 15 pounds for next day delivery.
Received the item only to realize the controller was faulty and not in a working condition.
I contacted there live support and was told to send back the the faulty item (travel to a depot costing me more money). I explained that was not good enough considering i lost 15 pounds from delivery. I was given a 7 pounds refund and told that it was up to me if i wish to return the item but they wouldn't help me in any other way regarding the faulty item. I was then spoke to very rudely and sarcastically "Well if you return or not is up to you anything else i can help you with" i then asked to speak to this persons supervisor in reply i got "Talking to a manager will not change the returns policy and will only delay this further" at this point feeling like this person was attempting to stop me from being able to talk to someone else. I ended the live chat and went onto facebook and messaged there facebook page to make a complaint about this person and the way i was treated only for the same disrespectful rude person to come to facebook and respond to his own staff report complaint basically calling me a liar. At this point i felt frustrated scammed and slightly stalked. I asked for his full name so i could contact head office and report him he refused to give it to me and continued to make it out like i was the issue in this whole thing. This is still ongoing as i type but i will be contacting head office and filing a report on this person. Very much felt like this person had some sort of power trip and wanted to let me know there was nothing i could do about the loss of money.

They have no way to call or email the store to see if they have items in stock or if your order comes in they don't contact you by email or phone and you can't contact them so if you wanted to find out if an item was in you'd have to keep going into the store. This isn't the dark ages that's prehistoric.
This is the modern age. Sort it out. Poor poor higher Management decision.

Staggeringly poor Customer Service
February 9, 2023

I bought a game for my daughter in-store that was marked as reduced to £9.99, only to be charged £19.99 at the till because staff had forgotten to take the 'reduced' sticker off. There was no member of staff senior enough to take a commonsense decision to charge the advertised price (as a matter of good customer service) and I was told to raise the issue with Customer Services online. Oh boy! In an exchange of emails there was not one single acknowledgement by them that displaying the wrong price was poor practice, just an insistence that the law is on their side because the error was realised (only after being pointed out to staff by me) before the purchase was made. Despite my emails to them being courteous, I was told that I wanted them to conform to my rules, but that they had to follow their policy (despite not telling me what their policy is, other than - apparently - preferencing their legal protections over positive customer service and politeness!). According to GAME Customer Service, not reimbursing a customer for the difference between the price charged and the price advertised is "a matter of principle and fairness". Staggering!

NO IN-STORE CASH REFUNDS
November 13, 2022

This Christmas, DO NOT buy in-store at GAME. Any protection you assume you have for returning incorrect or unwanted consoles or games, your wrong as you will only receive store credit as a refund!

Instead go to Curry's, Argos or Asda in-store who all sell at the same price but instead, offer the basic returns rights you would expect at any other reputable company of this size in this day and age.

Couple of weeks ago, I decided to buy a new Xbox console plus some games as a gift. I chose to drive past Curry's, Argos and Asda, wrongfully choosing Game to be the best place to buy a games console, expecting unrivalled customer service being the specialists. I also worked for Game many years ago myself.

Purchased the console in-store at Berryden Industrial Estate, Aberdeen, but unfortunately my gift was unwanted. Having never even taken it out the carrier bag, I expected nothing other than a run of the mill return for full refund. Instead I was informed I could only get store credit back (nearly £500).

The Manager Craig, couldn't have been less sympathetic, repeatedly shrugging his shoulders telling me its a recent policy change and 'it is what it is'. I asked him why it wasn't made absolutely clear to me when spending a large amount of money (for me) that the goods were non-refundable other than store credit, and his response was that he and his staff simply dont have to inform customers and it's not normally as issue because people don't normally return consoles.

Craig pointed out it was made clear on the receipt which it absolutely was, but that's not much use to anyone after the point of sale. He also added there was clear information on display explaining their policies under the counter. I had to take a step back and crouch down to read a poster not in plain view but instead, roughly floor level to just above my knees (I'm 6ft1). I asked him why this wasn't pointed out or even better, on top of the counter where customers can see it before they make their transactions but he didn't have a response.

I found Games' returns policy is completely different for online orders despite being the same business, offering a 28 day no fuss returns, as you would expect. Manager Craig's response was his familiar shoulder shrug.

Furious with the situation, I can't get my head around how a business gets away with this. I will never use Game again and hope others will read this before they make the same mistake in the lead up to Christmas.

Nice Website
January 25, 2022

The user experience is commendable but it could be better. There were hassles and I made payment online which they didn't receive because of site bugs. So the game pads I paid for they couldn't recover. I recovered that payment through crown oak tech

BAD RETURNS DEPARTMENT AND CUSTOMER SERVICE! I would leave 0 stars if I could! I recently bought a PowerA Fusion Pro Wireless controller from game for my boyfriend, within a couple of days I decided to return the product as it was not the right feel for him, he did not use controller he only opened it for inspection. I tried to return the product through their "14day right to change your mind" policy, where it states the product can be opened for inspection but not used, which is what happened. I have been talking with game over the last 2 weeks as there returns department rejected my return claiming it had been used when it had not! Game have also refused to refund me the money I paid to send the return that was rejected on false pretences! I will no longer use GAME to order my products online. Extremely dissatisfied with how they have approached this matter!

Ordered a PS5 from GAME. Royal mail delivered it to the wrong address and it has since gone missing hence royal mail lost it. As I paid for priority insured delivery I contacted GAME. There is no phone number only there terrible email service. In the mean time I have been dealing with royal mail complaints who have taken full responsibility for my lost PS5. Any other company it would be easy you just phone speak to someone they contact royal mail put in a claim and send me a replacement ment. But no not GAME. After a week I get a email back saying its not there problem contact royal mail. So I phone royal mail and the consumer advice bureau and they both said it is GAMES responsibility to contact royal mail and as royal mail have accepted responsibility for the loss it is just a simple case of sending a replacement. I emailed GAME back and yet a week later no reply.

Made me wait over 5 hours for a PS5 in a queue. Finally got to checkout, console only was sold out so had to get a bundle, once I paid and order confirmation came through email I got a second email cancelling my order. Security problem? My personal card, my registered address, my email and my telephone. How can it fail? I've used Game for years but no longer a fan. They've upset alot of people today and this is going to cost them in the long term. 0 Stars.

Poor service no telephone number
February 1, 2021

Ordered my item on the 10th December, I emailed to cancel on 22nd due to no comms only to be told it was on its way. Returned item on 31st Dec. Took over a month to refund, despite many emails, I had few responses. I decided to email CEO (twice)(Martyn Gibbs AKA Mickey Mouse), never replied. The man and his organisation is a waste of space. Avoid!
