Ordering meals from Freshly.com is the best decision I have made concerning food being delivered to my home. I thought it would be nice to not have to cook and was hoping the meals I selected would be good... well they were GREAT and i love not having to cook when I don't feel like it and I especially love the fact these are delicious and nutritious meals! My 88 year old mother tried "meals on wheels" and found them tolerable and I thought why not order Freshly meals for her, so I convinced my 88 year old mother to give them a try and she is waiting for her first delivery to arrive sometime today and I will provide a review for her stating exactly what she thinks (she does not have a computer so I will be her sounding board)... my mother is a woman who still cooks delicious meals but is complaining she just does not have the energy she used to have and she complained that sometimes she gets a little confused about how much of something she has added and she no longer has the strength to safely lift heavy pots and pans, and all of this frustrates her, and I too worry about her cooking and I especially worry about her lifting something hot off the stove, dropping it, and burning herself... so my fingers are crossed she will like the meals or maybe "love" them as much as I do and enjoy the freedom of not having to prepare meals each and every night!

We had been searching for a meal delivery service that was relatively healthily and had some good options in regards to food. We stumbled upon Freshly and decided to give it a try. My other half and I each picked out several meals that we wanted to try for the first week. Most of the options were fairly tasty; but, having said that, we didn't feel as if they were as fresh tasting as they were touted to be. Some of the selections had a somewhat gritty taste and many of them didn't heat up evenly in the microwave based on the recommended time on the cardboard sleeve. Honestly, I think they may be better if you had the option to cook them in the oven. They way the meal selection stands now, they are basically hyped up TV dinners. Now on to the second week. Somehow, we missed the email reminder that it was time to choose our selections for this week. So... what did Freshly do? They charged our debit card and ordered for us. If they were going to do this, the least they could have done was sent us a new and different selection of meals. Did they do this? Nope! They sent us the exact same things that we had last week. Seriously? Who wants to eat the same things every week? We certainly don't and for this reason and the reasons stated in our review, we have decided to cancel Freshly and will not be using them again in the future. Instead, we will move on to a service that better suits our needs and what we are looking for.
Hi William, thanks for your feedback. I'm sorry to hear you didn't fully enjoy our meals or our service! We do offer oven instructions on our site. We do send the same meals if they aren't updated and we're unable to send random meals as we don't know what your preferences are or if there may be any allergies that make it so you can't enjoy some meals. While we never want to catch anyone by surprise we do send reminder emails, and if you miss your deadline, we are able to adjust the meals for you 23 hours after your deadline! I really enjoy my Freshly meals. There are very delicious and just enough for my needs. That are delivered right to my door. The only thing is that the driver puts the box either upside down or on its side. I am totally happy with the meals.
Ordered meals for my mom who lives alone and is in her 80's. She has given me feedback on the teriyaki chicken and the peppercorn steak and has enjoyed them very much. The convenience and reheating is a great way for her to get a tasty meal.
Saves a lot of time in the kitchen, easy clean up and great options.
I have sent to others who are now enjoying easy meal prep.

Overall I like your meals. However I would prefer if they weren't quite saucy / too much sauce and gravy. I would prefer to have a separate compartment for the sauces so I can mix in the amount I want. Otherwise most of the meals tend to be too greasy, fattening and calorie laden for my tastes. I also need to watch my cholesterol and your meals are too high in cholesterol and sodium. Even the "low" sodium meals are not low. 600 + mg is not low. I would love to see some vegetarian meals but without the soy.

I have a sister-in-law in Beacon, NY who is undergoing Radiation Treatments! I tried to call Freshly yesterday, pressed number to be called back, and never received a call back. It's always a challenge for me to cook healthy food that also tastes good but I have found the solution with Freshly. Not only is this service convenient but the food is so delicious. Even my husband loved it. I'm so glad I found this service.

We will either remove an item and replace with something new, update the recipe on a current item or just add an item without removing one. As we continue to grow we will have plans to offer even more variety as well!

However, you can select to skip weeks, or cancel your subscription at anytime! Answer: Our meals are prepared and shipped out from our kitchen in Phoenix.:-) For Arizona deliveries we use FedEx.
Answer: The delivery window they give us is between 9am and 9pm. We package the meals to be safe for 2 days transit time, plus safe to sit outside for up to 12 hours upon delivery.:-)
Answer: Hi Nancy! We do not cook meals based on other programs' guidelines at this time. We're not overly concerned with calorie counts, but more concerned with where calories come from. Our meals are generally high protein, high healthy fat, low carb, low sugar. We use unprocessed ingredients free from hormones or added sugars, and never use chemical preservatives. First and foremost, I'd like to inform you that we're a weekly subscription service, which means you'll receive meals weekly, and get charged weekly as well. Here are the steps to follow while signing up: 1 - Add your email address and zip code in the sign-up box on our homepage. ( www.Freshly.com) 2 - Pick your meal plan. Just keep in mind that our meals have a shelf life of about 5 days unless frozen. 3 - Pick your delivery day from the available dates! The specific day of the week will be your weekly delivery day unless changed. 4 - Select your delicious meals from our 30+ selections. 5 - Add your contact info, payment details, and delivery address.

You can certainly reheat our meals in a conventional oven, however, our current meal containers are not safe for the oven or stove-top, so you'll have to transfer your food to heat it up. First, preheat your oven to 350° F. Transfer your food to an oven-safe dish (don't forget to scrape the sauce out of the tray!) and cover the top in tin foil. Heat for 25-35 minutes, remove foil, and let sit 3-5 minutes, then transfer to your choice of plate or bowl and enjoy! (Keep in mind, heating times are approximate. You'll want to reheat the meal to an inner temperature of 165° F.)

We can deliver Tuesday-Saturday in Southern Illinois--deliveries can occur between 8am-9pm depending on the carriers route for the day. While carrier delays are out of the norm, weather-related issues, road closures, driver confusion, etc. can wreak havoc. We have a dedicated delivery team that works directly with our carriers to ensure successful deliveries, and we're always sure to compensate when delays arise. We certainly hope this helps! Answer: I've been getting mine in on time, but I assume as with all packages going through USPS, UPS, and FedEx right now, things have been backed up since COVID and only getting worse. So it's not Freshly's fault even if they aren't delivered on time.
