Thank you for your message. Unfortunately, it sounds like you have been in contact with a scammer. These scammers will often pose as FlexJobs employees or say that they work for FlexJobs in some capacity and then they will attempt to get work or even money out of people looking for jobs. I’m very glad you brought this particular user to our attention. We take these reports very seriously.

First, we want to remind you and your network to always use caution when responding to anyone on social media, via email, or on direct messaging apps that claim to be with FlexJobs. Can you please send us the link to the profile you are communicating with? Once you have done that, please report the account and stop all communication with that person.
It’s important to note that FlexJobs is not active on WhatsApp or Telegram (we only have a FlexJobs channel where we share warnings about this scam t.me/flexjobsofficial) and will never reach out to job seekers on those apps.

It’s also important to know that if someone from FlexJobs (an official FlexJobs employee) reaches out to you, we will not keep the conversation on the social platform (LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Reddit, Pinterest, TikTok). Rather, we’ll use the platform to make contact and will move the conversation to email. All FlexJobs emails will have [email protected] [email protected] domain—it will never have any other domain attached to the email address. You should never give anyone any of your personal login information for email, job sites, etc. This is another common tactic of these types of scams. Additionally, any efforts to make contact through social media or email in regards to a job will also inform you of an open position we have and will direct you to apply directly on our site. Now, here’s what you need to do:
1. Send the link of the scammer’s profile or their contact information to [email protected]
2. Report them on the platform they are reaching out to you on.
3. Block them from having access to your profile or messages.
4. Remove them from any other location where you may have them as a contact (like Gmail or Google Hangouts) and report them as fraud on those platforms.
5. If the scammer offers to send you an iTunes gift card as a form of payment (which is common), report it to Apple.
6. Report the scam on the BBB Scam Tracker: https://www.bbb.org/scamtracker
7. Submit an internet crime complaint to the FBI: https://www.ic3.gov/Home/FileComplaint
