Poor Battery Life
September 20, 2020

Bought FitBit Alta HR. Had it about a year and a half and it won't recharge. It's just dead. Emailed customer service, thought I could just replace the battery, but NO it's not possible, so now it's just garbage. They offered 35% discount on a new FitBit, which I considered, but NO, I only get the 35% off on certain ones, not the one I want. So I purchased an Apple Watch (Series 3) and very happy with the purchase.

Fitbit Versa Lite
September 7, 2020

Terrible product with terrible customer support. My Fitbit stopped tracking my sleep and sending me notifications from my phone 3 months ago. I have contacted customer support 4 times now and still they haven't helped me. They have supposedly escalated my problem to a higher department twice yet I have received to contact from anyone. Stay away from this product.

My husband bought me a Charge 3 for Christmas 2018 & I was super excited. I got it set up & was able to not only track my exercise, etc., but also amp up my workouts & begin to lose some of the weight that I'd put on over the last few years. At the end November 2019, it started glitching. My 4 mile runs would register under 2 or 3 miles and the notification vibrations was inconsistent. Then in early December, it stopped holding a charge. I reached out to Fitbit and luckily was just inside of the one year warranty. Ten days it took for them to acknowledge the device was defective and then it took another 3 weeks for the replacement to arrive. All was well... and then at the beginning of August, the notifications stopped. The only vibration would be from reaching the 30,60, or 120 minutes of exercise. I contacted the company and after spending two weeks repeating their directions to fix it, and none of it working, I asked for a replacement. Their reply was that it wasn't eligible for a replacement but I could have 35% off of another product. Why would I spend any more money with this company that doesn't stand by their product? My first watch lasted less than one year & the replacement less than 6 months. I certainly wouldn't want to spend any more & take a chance that this one would last for 3 months. And this is all too bad because I really really really was satisfied with the Charge 3 overall. I just bought an Apple Watch & have my fingers crossed that this will be a much better experience!

Worst purchase ever made! I bought my charge 4 in May and after an update in June it was ruined. It stopped receiving notifications, the time was way off, then stopped pairing to my phone. I have spoke to several CSR's and was told to wait it out for an update to fix the issues. I have called, emailed and chatted. When requesting a refund I was told several times that It was past 45 days that a refund was not an option. Although for one, I was told to wait therefore putting It past 45 days and two, this was a technical issue on their part. It is now November and no one has resolved my issue yet. So now I am stuck with a useless device losing money while this fraudulent company banks off of people buying their products that don't work after an update.

I bought a charge 3 with insurance. About a month ago the exercise tile just stopped syncing at all times. I have gone back and forth with customer service while they researched what was wrong. I sent pictures, descriptions and more. I HAVE INSURANCE TO REPLACE THIS TRACKER and yet they say they won't because the replacement will have the same issue. They offer no replacement watch, no upgrade for free, nothing! They say i just have to give them more time. I 'm sorry i thought i was the customer? Then when I asked to speak to a manager (after a month of back and forth with them) I conveniently got disconnected. The only reason i have not switched to another brand is because I already paid for the insurance. Trust me, the next time i need a tracker, i will NOT be purchasing anything from FitBIt. What a joke!

Customer service
August 16, 2020

My band broke on my Fitbit and get another one I need to know what style mine is. To do that, I need to log in to my Fitbit account. I tried to reset my password with at least six different passwords about twenty times and each time it told me it needed to be more complex. I used nice characters, capital, special character, and a number. Customer support was absolutely worthless. I spent about an hour on a password change. Got cut off twice because apparently if you don't interact within time limits they discontinue the chat and make you start over. They just kept telling me to try different passwords. So now I still can't get into my account and still have a broken wristband. Absolutely terrible customer service.

I purchased a fitbit Dec 2017. This product stopped working June 2019. They sent me a replacement 1yr 6m after the purchase date. The replacement fitbit I received in June 2019 stopped working on July 2020. I contacted fitbit as I thought the replacement fitbit had a 1 year warranty. As it turns out, any replacement fitbits only hold the remaining warranty time of the original fitbit you purchased. Therefore, they will not replace my fitbit. All product that you received through purchased or warranty of a previously defective product should hold their own warranty. I have never heard of this. Seems unethical.

Slow, unhelpful service. Extremely unwilling to do anything to help me, provide only the same basic pre-written answers. Like talking to a robot who is particularly unhelpful. Would never buy from this company again, with such terrible service it is impossible to fix any problems.

Replacement
August 7, 2020

I've had my Inspire HR for 8 months. It is supposed to be water proof up to 5meters. It was working just fine and one weekend decided to act up and quit all together after swimming. I don't dive deep or swim marathons... I called fit bit the next day. There was barely a wait to talk to someone and the gentleman was extremely helpful. Within a couple minutes he sent me an email and a new fitbit is on it's way! No hastle what so ever. Wish it could get here sooner than a week though, I've become overly fond of my fitbit lol.

I usually don't bother to write reviews, but I needed to share my experience with those looking to buy a Fitbit. I wished I took the time to read these reviews before I purchased a Fitbit. But as usual I had that thought of. It won't happen to me.

My FitBit cost me RM450++ (I am from Malaysia). It was my 1st fitness tracker & I absolutely loved it. I used it for swimming, tracking my exercises & also sleep patterns. However, before it hit the 1 year mark, it suddenly refused to Sync to my phone, and when I plugged in the charger, the screen went black. I contacted customer service, and after a couple of frustrating troubleshooting experience. They decided to replace my Charge 3.

Now... my warranty is obviously over by then. 6 months down the road, my replacement device experienced the same thing! Obviously at this point i know there is nothing customer service can do. There is also no service centre in Malaysia. No where to salvage my poor FitBit. Looks like this is now going in to the bin.

I am sorely disappointed that this device lasted me only 1.5 years, even though FitBit is supposed to be a reliable company & is amongst the top fitness trackers. Due to this experience, I am not looking at the Apple Watch or Garmin. I will NEVER EVER buy a FitBit ever again.

I hope this review helps those who are willing to take the risk... Thanks for reading. Cheers!

We have bought 3 Fitbit versa 2 in our family in the last year and a half and at the time of writing this review none of them is working. One was replaced free of cost but the new one had its screen come off after two months and it was out of warranty.

The glass screen comes off on its own without any jerks or touching, probably a problem with the glue used to stick it. If the glass doesn't come off then watch will just stop working one day with screen going black and it will stop syncing. None of the three watches lasted for more than 14 months.

I would not recommend buying Fitbit versa models as Ive seen others complain about the glass coming off too. This is something to do with the manufacturing. Either discontinue the product or find a better glue may be?

All in all, waste of money.

I went on the website to buy a Fitbit Inspire HR, clicked the product, and bought it. Or so I thought. What I actually ordered was a Fitbit Inspire (not HR). What happened is that when you click on Fitbit Inspire HR it leads you to a combined Fitbit Inspire/Fitbit Inspire website which doesn't specify which device is which. I didn't even realize I was on a combined product page as I had clicked on Fitbit Inspire HR and didn't notice the little difference in product name. My mistake, of course, but still a misleading setup of the website. That's why I asked for a refund of the return shipping costs and was told a supervisor would call me back. Never happened. Four weeks after returning the wrong Fitbit the purchase price was still not refunded and they only started processing the refund when I called a second time to inquire about the refund. Again, no willingness to refund shipping costs of $8. Based on these experiences I am not going to put in an order for the correct product from Fitbit which certainly has a profit margin of more than $8. Customer and money lost, Fitbit.

Through a wellness program at my employers I received a free Fitbit Inspire (yay). I upgraded to the Fitbit Inspire HR so I could swim with it. (Again, yay!) I get it. I set it up. All looks good, until... I try to read the screens. The text on the screen is TOO SMALL I think to myself, "No problem... I will just return it and upgrade to a Charge 3 or 4 which have larger screens." Customer Service (... and the supervisor) will only accept the return if I pay shipping :( This is like receiving a shirt that doesn't look like the catalog. The device may be okay and comparable to other devices on the market, however the Customer Service is poor. I probably will NOT return the device, more money down the toilet. I will just use my old Fitbit and when it dies, I will buy something else. Thanks Fitbit Customer Service. You made a NON-customer for life today. Good on you.

There wasn't an option for a negative number. I received the Fitbit Charge 3 for a Christmas present, it's now July and not working, due to the screen being black. Customer support is not helpful and tells me that my warranty is up. This is scam company and I'd love to see a class action lawsuit filed.

I have been a customer of Fitbit now since February 2016, so roughly 4.5 years. I have gone through a total of 4 different Fitbits during this time period. I have proclaimed to everyone that Fitbits are the best fitness watches, I was totally wrong in this statement. I spent over $300 on this device 15 months ago. After calling customer service, to try and just send the device in to get fixed, they told me my only option was 25% off. If I could go back for what the prices were of these 2 products combined, with how long they lasted, I would easily switch to an Apple Watch, or another fitness brand watchc. So between the Ionic and the Surge before that, Fitbit is expecting their customers to purchase a new device just shortly after a year of having it. I find it very interesting for me that the devices always seem to start breaking right after there warranty period. They are not the type of company that wants to do right with their customers, nor does it seem like they care at all about their customers. I think you are better off going with a company that has the technical support of their products, or customer service that wants to retain customers... Fitbit is not that company. I do not EVER write reviews on products. But this company and their customer service over the years is nonsense. Save yourself the annoyance and troubles, and spend the money with a different company.
