We had a great time out on the boat with Firehatt charters but we came back empty handed, we seen a lot of cool things and one major high light was a massive whale shark just outside the harbor

In April, I booked a half-day afternoon charter with Fish Hunter Tours. We left out of Crystal River, Fl., and fished the mangrove islands along the coast. Over the course of the scheduled trip (1:00 to 5:00 pm), we hooked into a couple of really nice fish, but lost them. And these fish (the 'ones that got away') were absolute monsters. On my mother's grave, I swear they were almost as big as the boat! But despite these hook ups, by the end of the scheduled charter, we had not landed any keeper fish. So instead of coming in at the scheduled time, Captain Bryan decided to keep on fishing. He went the extra mile, and we stayed out until the fish bite (and the 'no-see-ums' bite) really turned on. We were finally forced to come home when we ran out of bait. The charter ended with a bang and everyone had a great time. I highly recommend you book a trip with Captain Bryan Frechette of Fish Hunter Tours.

We went out hoping for a shark. We caught a Bonnet head. Paul hooked a black tip shark around 70lbs but as reeling in it kept flipping out of water like a marlin and line broke. It was a great morning and Benny is such a nice guy. His boat is very clean and roomy, not to mention he rebuilt it and you would never know. We will definitely book with him again, and our fish was amazing! Thank you Benny, see you next time.

Used this service for the first time and won't use again. The captains seem to prefer bookings that come direct, seem to double book and then cancel the bookings through this service at the last minute. Disappointed our whole family and their customer service did nothing to help solve the situation.

I understand that your captain canceled the evening before the trip because of a small craft advisory. It's worth mentioning that these weather warnings can be very serious and the conditions even a couple of miles from the coast can be very different from those on land. As you were fishing on a family-friendly pontoon boat, it would not have been advisable to fish in wavy conditions, even if other boat types were still going out despite the weather warnings. It's the captain's prerogative to keep you safe, and he chose to sacrifice his potential earnings to make sure your family wouldn't be put in danger. Your deposit has been refunded and should be in your bank account within the next couple of days.

Great trip…. Reluctant to give us all our fish. Caught 3 yellow fin tuna and a thirty pound wahoo. First mate Jerry was awesome. Lots of stories and a great instructor. The wahoo was wild on the deck and Jerry took over. We were anxious about a toothy fish taking over on the boat.

It was mine and my families first charter fishing trip and we had a great time! Capt knew where all the best spots were and we were hooking fish left and right. It was a very challenging day. We had wind, rain and sleet. Jay took me to a cove that provided some protection from the wind. While the day started off rather slow it picked up later in the morning. I ended up catching six largemouth, with the largest being just short of six pounds.
