I tried transferring my 401K through Fidelity to my current employer... four months later and Fidelity has sent me four checks with the same incorrect information. Every time I call them, they have some stupid and invalid excuse and tell me they are fixing it and will send a new check. Here I am four months later and still haven't received a corrected check. Then, they lock me out of my online account and I have called four times today alone to get someone to help me and each time, they give me a new number to call. I finally get the correct number for the fourth representative and they get on saying "they're gone for the day". This company has the WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE ever! Steer clear and invest your money elsewhere! I cannot wait to get out of this company for good!
Added so-called wash sale price to my transactions without any good reasons and refused to own and correct the mistake.
In November 2021, I, as the attorney for the executor of the estate, mailed to the Cincinatti, OH office a letter request for a date of death value letter with all required legal documentation and authorization. I received no reply. In June 2022 I mailed a duplicate letter with enclosures by certified mail. I received the green signature card but no written response. I called several times and each time I had to explain from the beginning what information I needed. In the interim, a date of death value letter from Fidelity was sent to the beneficiary but it had the wrong date of death. Last phone call was extremely condescending to me. It wasn't until today, August 18,2022, that the beneficiary delivered the corrected date of death value letter to me that the beneficiary received. Fidelity still has never replied to my law office and it has been nine months after my initial written request. Absolutely horrible service.
This company was taking money out of my pay biweekly and it wasnt showing up on my paystub, they had this done without my consent, i did not get any information about this 401 k for almost a year and just a month ago i just started seeing where fidelity was taking out automatic, from my pay and refusing to return the money that they stole from me, when you take anything from a person with out their knowing is consider stealing, it wasnt until a month ago that i starting seeing where they was secretly taking from my pay for a year and i never got any information from them until today, now they are saying well since they has been taking out since jan 2021 that they cannot give me the money back, i never knew they was taking the money, they said well you have to wait till you leave your job. Stay away from these people, they are gathering up all your saving and they are in control of your money, they say when you can have you money. And once it come time for your retirement you will be sharing your saving with them, you will not get the full balance, do you think they are gonna match your money and get nothing, well good luck, i dont need help saving for retirement i dont like 401k because no one will tell me when i can get my money and how much, i no how to save with out the help of a dishonest company such as fidelity or any other company, my money stays with me.
Fidelity shut down my account and banned me for life because I was an active trader. They said I was costing them too much in commisions when there were no commision fees. There was no warning about overtrading, only a shutdown. I will never use them again and I am in shock about that this even happened.
I went to Ameritrade and love it there. No Issues.
Fidelity investments! Do NOT bank/ invest with this company. Ex. "you transfer funds to your account and while waiting for your funds to clear called customer service numerous of times AND gotten hung up on. To the last representative I spoke with told me "My account has been closed and their holding my funds for 10 days. Are You Serious? I have bills to pay and it's the beginning of the month. Stay away from fidelity TRUST
My husband passed in January 2021. I am still trying to get information (August 2022) each time I call them they need different information. I have sent more information through the mail than I feel comfortable with. I will never use this company again.
I was somehow signed up for 401k through Fidelity and sadly didn't notice until it was deducted from my paycheck. I had to get the deductions to stop(hopefully) and will be taxed on my refund on something I never agreed to. My payroll has no idea how this happened which is also very concerning.
After 2 weeks of giving them the correct banking information and paying well over 20% in penalties, my deposit has been rejected 4 times because they've purposely entered the account as a checking instead of a savings. Even put them on the phone with a banker directly. Now they've forced a mail in that can take a month or more for me to receive. OH yea, that's costing 25 more bucks. Thank you for absolutely nothing.
Fidelity has the absolute worst customer service and once they get your money, good luck getting it back. My Dad was killed in an accident in 2017, and here we are in July of 2022 and I'm still fighting to get his 403B that he named me the beneficiary of. I reported them to the BBB last week and since then I've spent more than 2 hours of the phone with fidelity (most of that time on hold) and then after insanely long hold time they hang up the phone. This company is outrageous and I hope anyone that loses a family member doesn't have to go through the hell this place has put me through trying to get what my Dad left for me.
I had a mobile check deposit available to my account when I first opened my account with fidelity. I made a couple of deposits via mobile deposit. Later, they changed my account to only mail them the check. I was not notified nor given any explanation of the sudden change, which I don't appreciate. For that reason, I will not recommend Fidelity to anyone.
Been with Fidelity for over 25 years. Wanted my account converted into a trust. Took over a month and 4 trips to a Fidelity store. Major hassle. End result I asked them to do one thing for me in 25 years and they screwed it up. I bet they never screw up the process of getting their fees. If I could I'd be gone. Go with Vanguard.
In the course of attempting to transfer assets from my account to another person's Fidelity account, Fidelity loaned me $250k at 8. Xx% interest via a margin debt, without contacting me for approval beforehand. The cash proceeds of this unauthorized margin loan were then transferred to the other person's account. Note that Fidelity was clearly instructed to do an asset transfer, NOT a cash transfer. Fidelity created the cash in my account via the unauthorized margin debt loan. I never authorized a cash transfer because 1) I did not have $250k in cash available (at least before the unauthorized margin debt loan) and 2) the receiver of the $250k of assets were the one's to pay the taxes on the transferred assets when the receiver decided to liquidate the assets. In the process of undoing/correcting this unauthorized transaction, Fidelity then balked at my re-done Letter of Instruction(LOI) because I only specified the dollar amount of each fund to be transferred, not the share price of each fund to be transferred. After ranting with the Fidelity rep., they told me that they would process the LOI as written. I am waiting to see if they are true to their word. My question for myself is why the hell am I with Fidelity after all of this?
While the rest of Fidelity seems to operate well, their "Fraud department" that is supposed to "protect the client" refused to follow my instructions regarding my account. It is my money, and I should be able to appoint whomever I want as my power of Attorney. Not only did they require me to have a power or attorney, but also they dictated to me who I could NOT have on that Power. In other words, Fidelity did not accept my choice of Power of Attorney. I had to find someone else and this made things my life a living hell. Fidelity does not have the right to chose who can or cannot be my power of attorney, but they arrogated this right to themselves and caused me great financial damage. During the time my account was blocked, I lost a great amount of value, and also incurred huge expenses because of their inability to first come to a solution that I could live with, and second, after receiving the paperwork that they had requested, they were sloppy about removing the blocks that they had unreasonably added. They clearly care more about the appearance of "covering their $#*!" than they care about the welfare of their clients.
I initially set up an account for options trading and sent money into the account. The mo n ey seem to take for ever to get posted. Fidelity stated that once the initial setup with my bank was established that funds would clear a lot faster. This was not the case. I had the same delay in posting funds for my second deposit. Robinhood fund transfers are the next day. I closed out my Fidelity account. Not for me
I opened an account at Fidelity after years of bad experience at Charles Schwab. This company is just as bad. I have been on the phone for 1 hour, mostly on hold, trying to get a simple question answered. Nobody knows anything; any question you ask, they say "let me put you on hold for a brief second." Of course it's not a second, nor is it brief. And when I finally did get a person who knew something about the problem I was having, he was unable to solve it. If you open an account here, you're on your own with the website. Forget about customer support.
They are so bad and rigorous they're after money they took my money away, nobody reply my complain on their admin
They scam you. I had a financial advisor through them and they drained my 401k for themselves. I highly recommend avoiding them at all costs.
I'm not understanding why I can't withdraw my money. This is the second time I've been denied a withdrawal.
I've had a fidelity account over 20 years. Pros, fidelity is a trustworthy company, customer service is top notch w/ excellent agents. Fees are reasonable and not hidden. That Earns them the second star. Cons Unfortunately I do all my banking from my phone. In the last six months Fidelity's app has failed miserably fingerprint no longer works or is erratic. I no longer use the app. Logging on to their website from my phone is cumbersome. The website is very outdated for Android phone format. It seems their technology is stuck on Windows 98. Which is adequate for desktop users. Hopefully they will modernize this antiquated system, patience is running thin. In-depth research some investing CD's and rollover activities are limited without speaking to an agent.
Answer: Expect to wait on hold for 15mnto 30mn and get nowhere when you get someone on the phone.
