Be careful as facebook is a great place to get a stalker. Never put any personal information on facebook as you open your self to indentity fraud.
I spend a lot of time on facebook keeping up with friends and playing those addicting games. I've had a few people contact me that I really didn't want to contact me, but overall it has been pleasant.
The games on the site are addicting, yes, but also annoying. They constantly pester you to add friends and pay real money for fake money (horrible idea). In the middle of gameplay they will pop up an annoying box telling you about a discount you don't care about.
Default privacy settings are sketchy, so make sure you take a close look at them before revealing superfluous information about yourself.
The interface periodically changes without warning which can be confusing.
REASONS TO USE:
[1] Large user-base
[2] Addicting Games
[3] Aesthetically bearable
REASONS TO LOSE:
[1] Not necessary if you keep up with friends via other means
[2] Potential Time-Killer which can prevent you from doing things you NEED to do
I like facebook, i think as long as you don't put on any personal information and don't give out what your lifestyle you can get to know people and old friends.
I am not happy with the unannounced changes and also the problems I have had with my security settings going back to Facebook's default settings without notification.
It is ok, it is that when you put your business out there on facebook, someone will find out what you are doing, where you are going out of town, etc. It is just not a privacy place to put your business out there.
In general terms, I quite like Facebook and it's good for keeping in touch with people as I live a long way from home. However, there are a few things that really hack me off.
For example, there are some businesses that use Facebook to gain new customers and then cheat them. In many cases, they openly promote counterfeit goods. The problem is that there is no way to report this to Facebook. Why? Surely Facebook has a responsibility to not to allow criminals to openly exploit their members.
I love facebook but I fear it is taking over our lives! I have issues with the face that you can never get a direct response from anyone. I had a worrying incident with a bit of a stalker once and there was no one to actually correspond with- you had to just 'Report it'. I ended up deactivating my account for a few weeks! (And missed facebook profusely!
Great way to communicate with friends but it is also annoying due to the fact that you always have updates coming in.
This site believes sharing credit card information and other 'private' data is ok. I did a facebook ad campaign about a year ago, and forgot I had entered my credit card information to pay for this service. It was NOT until my son used a gaming site, and hit the 'buy' credit button that I remembered. Yup, $100 later I learned a hard lesson. I sent several emails to facebook, as well as my local TV station did, searching for answers and some logic as to why this happened. Well, 2 months have gone by and NO response. Lesson learned, if it is on facebook they consider it public and sharable with whomever they choose, regardless of what information it is... Users be aware...
Everything was pretty good in the beginning, but as they got bigger, with all there modifications and new laws it made me consider using new sites to possibly switch over to.
I will admit, I visit the site multiple times a day. Over the years though, it seems facebook is getting reckless with user information and privacy. They also change the layout of the site way too much and make it a pain to set privacy and notification features. Advertising is starting to dominate this site and many of my friends are talking about leaving it now.

I can tell you at times that I get basically bored with Facebook. Sometimes I get invites from people to participate in games that to me are totally uninteresting although I have to admit some are more interesting than others.
Also as well Facebook does not work well at times especially if one wants to connect with someone on the relationship level.
For advertising purposes it can be a helpful tool once one knows how to use it in a right way for the promotion of one's business.
For me Facebook is okay but it isn't always at times the best.
I found all my lost connections here. I like that I am able to see what everyone is doing and talk to a lot of people that I'd probably forgotten eventually.
I'd give it 5 stars if only it weren't for the news feed in real time. That part just creeps me out.
I find FB usefull for catching up with old friends and even reuniting you with ones you have not seen for a while but I don't like how some people practicly live their lives on there. Says more about people I guess than the site itself but I really grinds my gears lol. But yeah FB is pretty awesome at what it does.
Im not a facebook freak but i like to log on every once in a while. The site is fun to use and easy to meneuver. For those people who seem to be upset about the privacy policies on facebook, you need to understand that you always have the option on facebook to make anything you want private to anyone you want. You can even block a friend! All in All its a good site.
I think it's a great way to keep in contact with family in friends that don't live in the same state as we do. But as far as privacy there isn't any if there was. There wouldn't be so many child predators on there. Also they are to willing to just give you information away so easily.
I am surprised there are only 113 reviews of this vial creature. Yes, it is helpful but damn! If they would only maybe, try to keep the customer happy. It's like they genuinely have outright stopped caring about the user and know that people NEED it now so they just go ahead and do what they want. It's like that fat mean kid on the play ground, really nice until it gets what it wants out of you (candy/information) then, screw you, buddy.

Answer: Because they don't care, and it's probably millions, not hundreds. There are no internet laws protecting consumers of that place. It would take a bill in congress, and guess who also doesn't care what FB does to its users? U.S. Congress! Zuckerberg is having private meetings with the thug in the White House, trying to cover his butt or ensure nothing happens to his precious company in liability law suits.

Answer: Same exact thing happened to me just yesterday and I'm so beyond pissed off and upset, I'm so worried whoever hacked my account will take all my videos and pics of my children and sell them to pedophiles and Facebook won't help me at all, I sent documentation to prove it is my account but they still won't fix it, UGH!
