I ordered a large fabric order. 2 of the 1 yd cuts were, like super heavy, and obviously NOT quilting fabric. I returned with copy of receipt and what fabric I would like to exchange it for.
But... because I didn't get their official blessing to send it back, they can't help me. So, they can't find what I sent back... they can't refund my order. WOW! I can see now, that's how they operate... by all the other comments here. I will, and hope all the other customers will share this poor practice on Social Media sites and any quilting guilds & Quilt shows they can. I passed out flyers at the International Quilt Show about them Spread the word ladies. Quilters are good people... we need to do business with the same :(
I placed an order of fabric and yarn. The fabric arrived in a long tube box, with no yarn. Nothing indicated a second package and the shipping slip included the yarn. I called and the rep was nice enough and but the bulk of the yarn was now out of stock. She sent the 2 skeins that were available and refunded the rest, giving me the date they were expected in. Frustrating that they couldn't simply fill the rest of my order when they had it. So then I order again when the yarn was back in stock, only to realize it no longer qualified for free shipping. I phoned to place the order, expecting that the rep would waive the shipping. Oh no- I had to pay the shipping then call to request a refund. What the hell? So I placed the order online while still on the phone and then requested the refund. She put me on hold for about 20 minutes. Whole process was so ridiculous. Then, it took over a week for the order to be shipped. So done with this company.
All of these reviews are so very true! I have been purchasing from Fabric.com since 2011. They do have a huge selection but the customer service is rude and they do not care. The shipping time is horrible and you have a 50/50 chance of even getting what you order. This past year they seem to have gotten even worse. I really don't understand how they stay in business or why there isn't a competitor that doesn't increase their inventory to wipe fabric.com out. It wouldn't take much. After 3 weeks of waiting for my fabric to ship, I had to cancel my last two orders. Yes, I tried again after the first 3 week ordeal in hopes of a better experience, but had the same problem. However, when I asked for a refund I did get it. They told me it would take a ridiculous amount of time to process. I complained. The representative said she would have it expedited. It was. On the website they indicate they will not take your money until they ship your order. FALSE! They also indicate most orders ship in 2-3 business days. NEVER! Do not use Fabric.com unless you cannot find any where else and know when you order that it might not work out and you might wait a month or two to get your order... if you do.
I looked at a number of these posts, but I have to say that I was very satisfied with my order. I ordered minky and fleece and got them both quickly and both were wrapped up and clean and tidy in a box. I was very happy and will use the site again.
Never order anything from Fabric.com, never. I ordered 3 fabrics from them on 10/3, received the order a week and a half later, only received 1 yard of the 2.5 I ordered of a certain color, emailed them, received an email 3 days later on the 21st stating they were expediting a replacement. For a week I've been waiting for this stuff to arrive so I could finish the upholstery on the remaining 4 chairs, today I gave up and called to see what expedited meant to these people and was told they cancelled my order. No email, no phone call, nothing. If I want what should have been delivered to me over a week ago then I have to call back on Nov 6th for a replacement order. I'm sorry but am I the only one who sees a huge problem here? This fabric showed dozens of yards in stock, the order was placed and instead of emailing or calling to inform me there was no stock they sent a the wrinkled vinyl yard to me like there wasn't a problem at all. And now, the extremely rude customer service are just blowing me off like oh well that's not our problem. When I asked to repeatedly speak to a manager they refused to connect me to one. Refused. What a horrible, horrible company. I have no choice but to wait, as I have to finish these remaining 4 chairs but I can promise you that if all other fabric companies went out of business these people would still never get another penny from me. A terrible company, horrible customer service, horrible business practices.
I bought multiple things all around a particular fabric I ordered from this company. Well, a few days later, they didn't ship my order, they cancelled it! Now it's out of stock they say and they're not sure if it's ever coming back in. The informed me their website is not usually updated, that they are very behind on customer service emails, and when I spoke to a rep about the situation he admitted that yes, I was basically screwed and there is nothing he will do about it. Wow. WTF kind of customer service is this?!? That was my first order with this company. This company is a joke. Now I own a bunch of things meant to match that one fabric that I can't get and is very hard to find anywhere else. Awesome. Thanks a lot idiots.com, I'll take my business elsewhere. Oh, and you can't even leave a negative review about them on their site because they won't let it get posted so what you see is only what they allow.
I was sent the same wrong item 2 times. The second time I sent the item back and asked for a refund. I got the refund but not in full as they kept the shipping fee. So dissatisfied with the way they do business.
I seriously do not know how this company stays in business. I have yet to deal with a company that has worse service than fabric.com I called no less than 6 times regarding an order and was given 6 different excuses by 6 different representatives, including a manager. The manager then told me he would call me back to resolve the issue and never did. I cannot even begin to explain what transpired from here on out because it's so aggravating. This company is a JOKE. Website pictures are horrible, swatch shipping time ridiculous and don't ever expect to have an issue resolved. STAY AWAY!
I don't know why but I have been doing business with fabric.com for about 7 years and they have gone from bad to WORSE! My most recent order has taken 12 days to ship and only because I finally gave them a call did it get out in the mail. Customer service has always been unaccommodating and could care less about ANYTHING when you call. DO NOT SHOP HERE! In fact for an example of great customer service and speedy shipping shop at hawthornethreads.com.
While I have ordered from this site in the past and had good experiences (getting a whole yard rather than a half yard due to it being the end of the bolt), their customer service is horrible. I've tried to get a replacement on a half yard of unusable faux fur, but havne't gotten any updates whatsoever.
So dissatisfied with the way they do business. 4 days after I placed order I received and email telling me that one of the 10 fabrics I ordered Is not available anymore even though at the time of purchase there were 41 yards and I only ordered 4. They gave me 24 hours to reply to that email or will send my order incomplete. They had 4 days to fail me and wanted my to rush and order a new fabric to replce tvat one. A supervisor had no idea how to handle my issue but the customer service consultants were trying there best to get me off line by saying that they don't "regularly update stocks" and "that they have some issues". Happend already with 2 of my orders. Not reliable and extremely slow when they finally send some of the orders. Not happy, will never purchase from here as there are other reliable sources out there. Fabric.com missed the mark for me by not providing product, customer service, resolution and respect. So what are they doing I wonder!?!
When you read that your order will ship out 2-3 business days from when you place your order, know that that is just a boldface lie. I try not to order from fabric.com because it is so slow but because of their wide selection I sometimes have to. In this case, I placed my order and ever since the 3rd day after my order I have been on their tails. I was GUARANTEED by a manager that my order would ship on the 4th day, and low and behold it did not ship, and now I have a whole weekend to wait to see if it will go out Monday. I find that when speaking to customer service I get horrible responses from them because their hands are tied by management. They are not allowed to escalate customers' claims per company protocol. So essentially, the customer service representatives are answering phone calls and emails with their hands behind their backs. This is an awful way to run a business and I've never been so angry with a business in all of my life.
Just call if you have concern. It is obvious that no one works incoming emails in their customer service department. Maybe "frantic.com" should put a couple of their marketing employees on the emails.
Still waiting for order to be shipped 14 days after placing the order.
Good luck everyone
I ordered on 9-22-15 and I called 6 days later, my order not even cut or sent out. I was told by customer service that they would send out a reminder the day I called. Come on! NEVER AGAIN ORDERING FROM THIS SITE! I ordered something after on onlinefabric.net and got it in the mail two days later.
I so wish I'd found SiteJabber before I ordered from fabric.com. All I've done so far is place an order for swatches, and already I'm unhappy. I've spoken to two people in customer service (all of the managers were on other calls, which is not surprising now that I've read some of the reviews), and no one can tell me when my order will ship. The first person I spoke with told me 5-8 days. I was sure that I'd read 2-3 days, so I checked the website. Yep - 2-3 days is what it says. I called back and got a different person in customer service. According to her (although she didn't put it this clearly), the day of the order doesn't count in the "2-3 days" and nothing ships in two days. Then, she said, you should count on 7-10 days in the mail. (Sending it by UPS was not offered as an option, although larger amounts of fabric can be sent that way, so why not?) If you want to buy from fabric.com, I recommend counting on two weeks at best to receive anything. Apparently no one from fabric.com reads these reviews. That speaks volumes.
Slow communication and even slower shipping. And why I receive an email 5-7 days after an order goes through to let me know the fabric i purchased is out of stock! I should be notified within 1-2 days! Now that they no longer do reward points, i have no reason to shop here anymore
No fabric and at least 50 spams... i think they sold my email... aargh... am cancelling the email address cuz it is so bad. Just keeps increasing. None before them...
I could not be more angry at this company, toatl waste of time, do not buy from them because i can asure you that atleast one of the products you order will be "Out of Stock" then you have to go through the process of either you want something else or a refund or blah blah blah, and it takes forever to solve. When you finally solve you wait for it to be delivered and find out that all you order is wrong or some items are missing, so then here you go again. I would recommend you buy some pain killers for the headaches you will go through with them.
Don't order anything from this company unless you want to be bombarded forever by email ads from them. I've tried six times to request to be removed from their mailing list, including on line and calling their customer service, but inspire of their promises I still receive them. Damned annoying!
Answer: Hawthorne Threads is great.
Answer: Im using them for almost a year but no more... they keep sending me 25 % discount almost every week to gain me back... NO WAY! Yeah i order atleast 2,000 each order... total loss for them... until now they still awe me money for the fleece fabric i order long time ago, when i order it it has 50 yards of it, after 10 days they gonna tell me its out of stock, waited for replacement, until now no replacement... i got a lot of horrible experience with this company,,, dirty fabric that looks like somebody use it to rub on their body... really really sucks!
Answer: My business is making curtains. I have dealt with this company for the past two years and I think the customer service department is doing the best they can with trying to making it look like the company has it together. They do not have it together at all. There is no excuse with the volume of business that they do that they cannot afford a system that can tell you immediately an item is out of stock. I cannot tell you how many times I have purchased fabric from this company only to learn three days later that it is not in stock. Then they hold the rest of your order for another three to four days after you answer an email telling them to continue to ship the rest of the order. I have had fabric arrive to me balled up in a box that they didn't even bother to put in a bag, I have had fabric with shoe prints on it in the middle of the bolt or pieces of fabric missing from a ten yard order that were cut out of the middle of the ten yards. I am trying to eventually not use this company at all anymore as they don't have a clue as to how to treat customers or just don't care. The only problem is they have run all of the mom and pop online fabric stores out of business with lower prices (this was maybe two years ago) and the smaller businesses couldn't keep up with them so they closed. Now that they have the market they have raised their prices because they have very little competition out there. If you leave a good review for this company you are one in a million that have had a pleasurable experience. Just because you bought from them once and don't have a complaint means nothing, consider yourself lucky.
Answer: It's a US website, so they'll take the money in US dollars, but if they take orders from Australia your bank or payment processor will have to convert the currency according to the current exchange rate and I think they may also charge a fee for doing this.
Answer: Thank you so much for your inquiry. Please feel free to send your contact information to [email protected], and I would be more than happy to forward it to the appropriate people.
Answer: You would have been better off contacting fabric.com directly. It doesn't look like they even know about this website.
Answer: I would call or email them, including as much detail as you can... order #, what fabrics were ordered and approximately the time of the order. Have never had this happen to me from Fabric.com, have from another online site and was lucky that I got the help I needed. Good Luck.
Answer: As a customer of theirs, almost an ex-customer of theirs at this point, I can honestly say they have made absolutely no changes for the better in my case. They have paid absolutely no attention to any of my issues with them, which is why I'm about to become a former customer.
