If you know someone like me where they're really into crystals then I recommend you go and get them a Valentines Crystal box. I received this last year as a gift from a friend and I absolutely loved it, it was such a cute and fun surprise. Not to mention, the packaging was just absolutely adorable. It's definitely a good way to gift a friend something they love while being in theme with the occasion. I wish I took a picture of it when I got it but this example from Etsy is basically the same as the one I received.
I have been an occasional customer since 2015 until now. I received the email that my order was cancelled. I checked. It was $184! Somebody was trying to make a purchase to my account. It didn't go through and I got the note from etsy. Then, I checked my previous order for $12.10 which I posted. It was cancelled and I never got any notification and no refund, as well. When I contacted the shop about refund (2 days later), I immediately received the refund! Like somebody was just sitting and waiting for my message? Scam and fraud. Especially the fortune tellers. Never use that service on etsy. Most of them are scammers.
UPDATE: August 2024. I finally found a courage to close this account. I was still using to buy some plants and seeds, but most of reliable sellers have an own website and I will buy on their website, if need. The fortune tellers and magic producers do very well on this site. OMG, how many naive people make them money. Stay away!
I ordered a large decal. Shipment was to Germany. Took quite long time, and I was charged customs fees that were were almost as much as the decal. The customs fees should be more upfront. I should have to go searching for it.
I am a new Etsy customer I have only made two purchases with this company. My second purchase that I just made was placed on hold for up to 2 to 3 days for no apparent reason I wasn't told why while my transaction went through a third-party verification. I have never heard this before I'm not quite sure why this was done to me and my credit card in my account but I was very upset and I did not want my purchase after learning that had happened. I contacted Etsy online and a chat and it did not go well as you would've guessed chatting online when you have a problem and there's an issue is absolutely the worst thing to do. I was not able to have my issue resolved and I felt as if I was being miss treated and Etsy was trying to keep my money because they would not cancel my order even though it was in the pending not purchased happen third-party verification stage. I was not able to get anything resolved last night it was a complete nightmare and I may sure to let Etsy know that when my item come in the mail that I will be returned back to the Cinder because I actually do not want it and not only that I will not be making any more purchases or spending my money with this company. Etsy is not a trustworthy company and when I went to actually try to write a review on their site the webpage it was not working it was disabled and I was not able to place review and I'm not surprised because his company is a not reputable. I wanted to make people aware that number one there is no alive real person to talk to about any problems that you have you are only left to resolve things to online chat by a computer. I felt as if they had hijacked my money and was refusing to give me a refund for another reason being that they are based in China.
They claim they have delivered the product even they haven't and noone is taking responsibility. They are not even interested in finding out where the ordered product has been lost and they just toik the money and thats it! They simple have stolen my money!
I'd give them no stars and when I tell you I made 4 pages all in which I was charged for and they suspended them. Didn't violate the terms or post inappropriately. I've contacted them several times with no response. At least refund my money if you aren't going to keep my page up. These people are thieves

Zero customer service, zero accountability for horrible sellers, everything on the site is too expensive and then after you never receive it, they cant do anything for you. Their sellers do not reply and they don't intervene. Just a horrible mess and the customer is who suffers!

My wife surfs Etsy and was upset with the listings of dirty ladies underwear for sale. A lot of them. Often guaranteed to have been worn 24 hrs and packed sealed to preserve aroma.

I had one buyer who sent a picture of a ripped bag who said it happened in shipping. Etsy returned her money. Since it was a tea item I could not even accept a return. A couple months later Etsy said one of my products was prohibited. At the same time they allowed 10 other sellers to sell exactly the same tea. They removed all of my items even though they were not the same. If they do not remove my suspension I will sue in small claims. This is easy to do. Sincerely Mojave Trails
The worst online place to shop, i had considered for 1 minute a braclet for new grand baby, cancelled imediatly, they sent out and charged me anyway, it wasnt a special order, just a little braclet, then i noticed other charges, I never order on line, this was the first, never again, they make it difficult to actualy contact them
I had ordered an item from an Etsy vendor, but unfortunately had to cancel the order after payment was taken. I immediately reached out to the vendor who agreed to cancel the order and refund my money. However, the refund had to go through Etsy, and I have not yet received my refund, although I was promised 5 - 10 business days, and nothing has happened since November 28. I have tried reaching out to Etsy support numerouos times; the vendor has also been great at assisting me with this. Neither of us have gotten anywhere. I am disappointed and frustrated, and although my daughters rave about Etsy, I will not be purchasing anything through them again. And once again... not becasue of the vendors, but because of the lack of support from Etsy.
I have only ordered from ETSY once before and was thrilled with the quality and service from the seller, so I decided to go back and order again for Christmas presents this year. I had three windchimes sent to a close relative in another state, from what I thought was a seller in a state close by. I requested a gift note to be included and tracking information. The items appeared to have been sent promptly, but then... nothing. No response from the seller when I asked about tracking. The items were ordered in plenty of time for Christmas. As time got close I began to get worried and found the seller's shop was apparently 'temporarily' closed. A few days later random AMAZON PACKAGES started showing up at my relatives house with horrible cheap mass produced junk windchimes. None of the return addresses corresponded to the ETSY seller who still failed to answer emails or give an address to return the junk to. I looked on AMAZON and felt like a complete fool because this is such an enormous scam, but it is being allowed by ETSY. Interestingly enough, Etsy fails to respond too, just as the seller does. Basically a seller is scamming customers by selling AMAZON junk at 400% profit, direct from AMAZON without the gift notes, return for refund address, parcel tracking or customer
Contact response expected. Perhaps ETSY feels it is the customer's responsibility to check every ETSY purchase against availability on AMAZON at a cheaper price. Well, to be honest, I wanted to support their principle of helping small business, independent artisans and cottage industries, so no, I did not look nor did I expect them to support scammers! But this is what they are doing by not responding, not stopping this practice and casting aspersions on all the authentic and honest artists that utilize ETSY to make a living and sell their goods. By enabling this SCAM they are hurting their brand and the honest ETSY TRADERS. What a terrible shame. Of course, the old adage applies "Buyer Beware", but in this case, I hope my experience will make you extra cautious. What started out as a wonderful marketplace for the 'little guy' has turned into a fertile hotspot for greed and dishonesty, and it seems that ETSY is now big enough not to care.
Etsy is a great place to shop when you are looking for a unique item! I have talked with some shop owners and overall just a wonderful experience! They are always happy to help and shipping is fast.
I placed an order with a seller on Etsy by the name Metalunlimited for a personalized clock. I cancelled the order since the seller didn't response to my question. But the seller refused to give me the refund and told me to ask Etsy for the refund. So far it has been 11 days I contacted Etsy several times they finally responded and still asking me to contact the seller. The company is not honest so does the seller.
After purchasing a plethora of jewellery off Etsy, I must say that the quality and result of what you buy is quite a large range. Often things arrive and they are exactly what they looked like on the website and pretty decent quality. But sometimes they are also 2 dollar store quality. Just ensure that you read customer reviews for the seller before you buy from there!
Bunch of damn crooks! I've spent $1000. 00s of dollars on Etsy in past but, the service has got worse and worse each time. The orders for most part do not get delivered in the estimated time frame that is obviously there for a reason. A lot of products do not look or are as described. The tracking is not up to date. What was once a cool site to get handmade and vintage goods is seemingly now just a place for crooks to make a quick buck. I really could go on but, hopefully someone will see this before getting the poor business I tend to receive 90% of the time I use Etsy anymore
I am highly upset with this company. I ordered 2 necklaces for my two granddaughters on November 30,2021. I am on a fixed income and this was what I spent my money on for their Christmas gifts. I have not received the items that were supposed to arrive not later that December 16. It says the package is in Niagara Falls NY since Dec. 9. I feel like this is a scam company that takes peoples money. Now I have nothing to give my granddaughters for Christmas, do you know horrible I feel...

Answer: Check the reviews, and Google the seller. Also, are the reviews written in good english? Does it seem fake? Check pictures from the buyers.
Answer: I would have to say no, with LOTS of exceptions. In the past few years Etsy has allowed business to claim handmade if it meets certain criteria. I often see many items that claim to be handmade but I have seen them on Alibaba being sold in bulk. That being said I look very closely and have purchased some wonderfu items from great sellers. The biggest problem with Etsy is that they no longer protect customers from fraud (they say they are not liable) but in doing that lots and lots or resellers and counterfeit items have saturated Etsy' s marketplace. I would never buy anything "vintage" there. What I have seen you are getting thrift store rejects or modern fake. Buyer beware! Investigate all vendors carefully!
Answer: I am agree with Ramina. 90% is not hand made. All comes from Factories. When someone has over 8000's item don't you ask who made it. They are all over from Pakistan to turkey east to west up united state. Etsy is happy just to take your money and every 4 or 5 months closing one store to show off and if you have some money as a credit they take it too. No customer service, no respect no manor, they made policy just for FUN and they have FUN with our pocket. Stay far from them FAR FAR.
Answer: I agree with Steve J on this one. A lot of sellers on Etsy work from home in the evenings for extra money. Most of them are not big businesses with massive inventories so I would give them the benefit of the doubt. Give them a little more time and if they dont send it out then file a case with etsy

Certain items cannot be returned for safety and hygiene reasons, and sellers can refuse to do anything other than exchange. Contacting Etsy may or may not change the results.
