This is the second year ordering eTags on line. The process is very easy to understand. I received my eTags within a week. In my opinion, the only way to order your new registration and eTags.
So I inadvertently clicked on the Etags link rather than the MD MVA link and paid an extra 30 bucks needlessly.
I called back and tried to cancel my order and they REFUSED; stating that it was an instantaneous transaction and that the MD MVA already had me in the system.
This was a lie.
I went to the ACTUAL MD MVA site to print out a temporary registration to place inside my rear window while waiting for my sticker.
Naturally they won't allow me because according to their records I haven't renewed my tags.
So basically, if you LIKE paying a premium ($30.00 extra in my case) then having ZERO ability to print out a temporary registration and run the risk of getting pulled over by the cops, then yes, go ahead and use Etags.
But if you wanna' save that money and be able to drive legally the very moment you pay (less) then just go to your state's website and do it yourself.
After two callbacks they cannot help me in any way.
I feel completely ripped off and stupid for not realizing that their site is not my local MVA.
Update:
A day later and STILL no acknowledgement from MD MVA that I have renewed. They haven't received a penny and according to them; I'm driving on dead tags.
Called back to inform Etags but they still refuse to cancel the transaction claiming that my stickers have "already shipped".
There is zero benefit to using this service in MD. Just go to the MD MVA site and get your tags; pay the regular price and immediately print out a temporary registration to place in your back window until your stickers arrive. Takes maybe 2-3 days.
Trying to figure out what that extra 30 bucks got me and so far; the answer is nothing but grief and aggravation.
Hopefully my stickers will show up.; after which I will contact the MVA yet again to see if they have any record of the transaction.
For something supposedly "instantaneous" it sure takes a pretty long time.
Fast and secure
Quick and easy! But had I realized in advance that there was an additional $30+ in charges and fees, I would not have used your services.
I would have just renewed via mail and saved quite a bit of money.
Tags came on time and later I got my title the same thanks
This is was very quick and easy. It helped me avoid the LONG lines at the DMV. Didn't have to take the day off of work. Thank you for this service.
Quick and easy
It was great, very good
It's as easy as 123
Great! Super fast.
Easy Quick Great Service.
Etags was a very easy access. I liked how it was simple to get into. I'm not in no way computer savvy. I was disappointed for an extra fee I had to pay on top of the registration. My registration didnt say anything other than my fees.
Great, taking care of business made easy
Good consumer experience through the process
Great and fast
Easy & efficient
This is totally awesome that you can do this online no more DMV long lines
Thanks for the simplicity of this system. The future reminder will also help greatly.
Simple to use
The convenience fees are higher than I would like.
Answer: Hi Karl, yes, you can. If you are already an owner of the vehicle, you can order a duplicate or replacement title if you lost your original copy. If you need to transfer ownership into your name, you can also request a transfer of the title only without applying for a registration. We provide both of these services in Florida, California, and Pennsylvania. New York services will be online soon. Visit eTags.com to choose the state and service. If your vehicle is not currently registered in any of those state or you are not transferring that title to that state, you can still do the same service directly with the DMV in the state you are in. Thanks for your question and best of luck.
Answer: Hello Patricia, thanks for your question and our apologies on the delay in reply as we do not check this third party, independent website regularly. You certainly can order a duplicate Florida title on our website by visiting https://www.etags.com/app/fl/print-title. If you have any questions or need any assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us directly by phone or email were we promise to get back to you in a prompt time frame. Take Care and Drive Safely.
Answer: Hi John, thanks for your question. We currently offer renewal service online in California, Maryland, and Florida. You will be able to still use our service if your vehicle is registered in California or Florida. Please keep in mind that the DMV will require we collect the past due amount along with the fee to bring your tag current through the next year. If your vehicle is registered in Maryland, the MVA requires you renew in person if you are more than 6 months late so you will not be able to complete the order online with eTags. Let us know if you have any other questions.
Answer: Hi John, thanks for your question. If you would like to no longer receive emails from eTags, you can click on the "Unsubscribe" link located at the bottom of any email you received from us. We can also unsubscribe you if you would like to send us your order ID or tag number and name on the order. To unsubscribe from emails from separate parties such as SiteJabber or ShopperApproved, please use the unsubscribe link in their emails or contact them as they are not affiliated with eTags. We hope this information helps. Take Care and Drive Safely.
Answer: Hi Wilma, thank you for your message. We apologize for the delayed reply as this site (sitejabber.com) is not owned or operate by eTags and we do not monitor communications via this independent reviews website regularly. Our support team can respond to inquires within 24 hours if we are contacted directly by phone or email. On our website, both before and after and order is submitted for Florida registered vehicle, we itemized our service fees and we disclose that your state registration fee is to be determined (TBD). The Florida registration fee is not listed on the website becuase, since we are not the DMV, we have to send your plate information to a state licensed agency to calculate that amount and that is done offline. We do provide a resource before the order is placed that allow you to estimate the amount of your state registration fee and we also disclose on our website that we are not owned or operated by any government agency. We apologize if you missed that information prior to completing your order. Your registration was already renewed on 3/24/17 and this cannot be reversed with the state DMV. Your tags were already shipped to the address you provided us at the time you placed your order. Please contact our customer support team directly by phone or email and they will be able to assist you with any additional questions or concerns you may have.
Answer: Hi Kim, Thank you for letting us know. I am sorry you have not received your shipment. Please forward either your Order # or plate number and I will investigate and get back to you quickly. Kind regards, Cole

Hi RJ, sorry to hear that you had an unsatisfactory experience. The MVA maintains a different database for licensed agencies like us which results in delays in updates to the separate database of the MVA. The MVA clerks you have spoken with should be aware of this distinction. Nonetheless, the renewals we complete are instant and valid immediately upon completion. The delay in you receiving your digital copy is unusual and we apologize that you experienced that. For reference, some of the benefits we provide above the MVA website are the option for 1 year renewal, multiple payment options including no interest loans that can be paid over time, updates and reminders by email and text message, free replacements for lost registrations and more. Please do not hesitate to contact our support team again if you have any other questions.
