There are lots of posts in my area. I reply to most and I never got a reply. I saw a post from a couple that were looking for someone that was basically me. I mean, I met the descriptions of their ideal guy. I replied to their post and I'm pretty sure I left an email to reply to. I never got a reply and it made me start thinking about how many of my messages in the past might not have been delivered. I know I'm good looking with a pretty nice tool to work with (not bragging) so there definitely has to be another reason
I contacted my friend and used her number to create another account. Then replied to an ad I posted and as you might have guessed, the email never came in. I also checked my spam folder.
I thought it was because the account was still new so I waited a whole week, replied again with something really basic so there will be no chances of it not getting delivered because of "adult content" and well, the email still never came in.
I posted in the men for men section because of a review I saw here that said something about the site only good for men looking for men. I replied to my ad again and this time, the message came in less than a minute later. I wanted to give the benefit of the doubt and assumed the servers were down when I tried replying to my post in the other category so I replied again and as you may have guessed, THE MESSAGE DIDN'T GET DELIVERED.
So it's either my account got shadow banned or the website is exclusively for gay men or something else. None of my posts have ever been removed for any violation so me getting shadow banned doesn't even make sense
It's also ironic that they say no nudity but there's always an ad that shoves nudes right in my face whenever I open the website.
Doublelist is a complete and total waste of time.
Its use of AI, and third world monitoring services make it practically impossible to enjoy.
I do believe that at least half the ads on M4M are fake or recycled. All the ads on W4M are fake.
There are way too many looking for illegal or illicit narcotics. Way too many soliciting prostitution. Way too many catfish too.
I have written to over 200 women seeking men ads on doublelist. Only one was a real person. All the others are SPAMMERS wanting me to go to a website with my credit card or to see their pictures and get on a database. Totally a waste of time. Craigslist was the same way. What a shame!
I been here for a year. Hardly any ladies write you back! Hardly ever! Nobody even tries to see how cool a person can be. Is it all hookers? Where are the chatty ladies at on Doublelist?
For all the trouble to post here, it really is not worth it as the responses are very few. I had an ad posted here for almost 2 years. Except for the pesky suggestions that I should use less coarse language in the beginning, there was never any problem and the ads went through. I didn't even bother posting pics as a picture of a belly button might have triggered them. All of a sudden, a month ago, on renewing established ads, doublelist started disallowing and flagging these same ads with no explanation. No reworking or adjustment of the ads helped. Anything and everything flagged after that. Really bizarre. I guess they banned me. And with no recourse either except the suggestion to follow to the letter the TOS in their FAQs. But there was never a problem in the prior 2 years. On top of this, phone numbers are now required. I don't who's running the show at doublelist but I'm guessing these are the new puritans.
I have been using it for 2 years, hoping that it will get better with time. In 2 years i was able to get 0 meeting. The woman section is completely useless, the men to men section is more active, but somehow rarely get replies, like meassages do not go, or maybe ghosts, dunno. Too much regulations for this kind of sites. Overall a waste of time.
Hello everyone,
I came across doublelist after reading an ad who recommend doublelist. Since all post from Craigslist has been flagged, I decided to go Doublelist to give it a try. At the beginning my two post were flagged after following the community guidelines
I sent an email to DL customer service and asked for explanation. Since then I have posted ads even with x- rate pictures ( I didn't get flagged). After 3 weeks, I met a cute guy and have sex in a hotel.
I spoke with numerous guys, they said gays pretend to be women at first while chatting online. As soon they set a date to meet, they reveal are men. I assure doublelist is legit, not perfect though. There are a lot flakes, bots, weird people as well.
As of the is review Doublelist is no longer a going concern. It appears they shut down for reasons unknown.
Been using doublelist for two years now. Have had some problems with insencenier people, but for the most part I have been happy with the results. I am a Male and have hooked up with a lot of men for oral sex. Good job
I have been a pretty active member for a few months now. Some of my ads got through(met real people had real encounters). I got suspended from site once(when I see people posting similar or even more vulgar stuff than I did, yet moderators didn't do anything to them.} Anyways, I got an email from a moderator one of the few last posts I did a few weeks ago{You had contact info in your post, I flagged your post}. The entire TOS and moderators are a complete joke. Way too strict about a sext site. You can find responses, but unless you are super careful you cannot find exactly what you are strictly looking for.
1. You used to post pics if what you got but now the site flags your post the second you do.
2. Casual sex and normal sex is nonexistent, most users are asking for freaky $#*!. Ex. A couple near Fairfield wants a guy to "feel up" the girl, ZERO sex while doing it and when your done you ONLY watch the couple $#*!, you DO NOT participate.
3. All women of all ages (18-50) ask only for men over the age on 25 NO LESS. And mostly ask for 40+. 18-24 men should look else where.
4. Women who are interested and possibly real are either too far away or in South Ca.
5. There are no compromises, they see one feature they don't like about you, THEY WILL DROP YOU.
I don't know whether it is a fraud or not, as others contend, but I was blocked for violating TOS. No way I did that. No appeal, no recourse, no way to register another account, no answer to emails. Even if it's a scam, it's not a good idea to lock out potential marks! Never got a response either to an ad or to an ad answered.
Today I logged on and found a very hard to use format that hides my posts. I can see it is active but I can't read it? I travel; and so it used to be easy to try new places once I got there but now it is a pain to switch to another city. I gave it 3 stars just for how awkward it is to use now.
I may just delete my account.
Been using the site a few months, have had nothing come of it, I had someone post an ad using a picture of me, which was frustrating... Anyways My last add posted was couple for female, nothing vulgar, no sex work, no drugs, and I go to log on today, and receive a message that I've been placed on hold for violating TOS, no explanation of what TOS I supposedly violated, no way to reopen my account, or appeal this decision. I even reread the TOS, to be sure I didn't violate anything. I'm guessing someone got pissed off that I didn't want to meet with them, and maybe reported my add. It's frustrating. Also most of the listings are ads for other sites, and I always get a pop up add for Ashley Maddison ( or what ever it's called) when I'm on doublelist.
While some posts may get through, 90% won't. Funny how an "adult personal" website is so anal about any words you use. Doublelist can give you some replies, but the moderators are so anal about everything you can't really post what you are trying to look for. Really only a complete $#*!show of a website because of the moderators.
This is a fake site that sets up its own fake ads for local areas.
How do I know? Recently, they put in a requirement to verify your phone number to post ads. Yet only those in North America can actually do this.
In spite of this, people are still posting locally in Australia, and that is just not possible with their current setup.
They shot themselves in the foot there.
More importantly, they insist that you can't use anything suggestive or nude photos, yet they will always open a porn page (obvious scam) for hookups.
If you have had any success, it's purely incidental. This is not a safe website.
Does not deserve one star. Site wastes a lot of everyone's time, as guidelines are so tight you cannot describe what you want so you get responses that are not a match. They also flag posts and freeze accounts without explanation; regardless if what you post fits within their own guidelines and terms. Sad site.
Doublelist was alright until the recent advertisements of naked women showing their genitals on the Gay for Straight and Straight for Gay section. Wtf? Is doublelist trying to convert gay men or drive bi men to the women?
I placed ads and now my account is on hold. They not only put my account on hold but won't answer emails, won't tell my why, won't tell me for how long. Don't bother with them. They will find a way to ban you.
Ill start by saying i have never posted an ad myself, being a younger gay women is hard enough to try to meet women without guys hitting on me, my issue with this site is that when you answer an ad, you dont get a reply, i have answered between 50-75 ads in a day and i havent gotten ANYTHING, not even spam, or a robotic answer, i find it impossible that from 100 ads, not 1 real person wrote it, even if the reply is to tell me to fck off, id atleast know they GOT my email. Also, i answer ads that dont have pictures of half naked women or in bras, so i try to make sure i feel they are 'real people' i look for hints like ads that the person gives the date, unfiltered pictures, stuff like that, can they still be fake? YES, but i do weed out the obvious ones but still to not even get a simple ' im not interested' from a major city with hundreds of listings? Seems kinda impossible
Answer: It's on hold forever. Just forget about it. There is no need trying to contact customer service. There are better sites like http://joy4love.com If you are looking for hot girls - works like charm. DoubleList has always been worthless anyway. I only met just a bunch of scammers there.
Answer: Now that doublelist.com is forcing payments there will be more free sites popping up soon!
Answer: It's now 100% official, when you asked this question it was in a test phase & someone made an error of letting it go live. As of this reply you must pay a monthly fee
