Dorm I was the only place I could find to completely outfit my two new TwinXL beds I purchased. The bedding is perfect, so far. My guests said they were comfortable. The only drawback: The Coma Inducer blankets arrived soiled but washed clean and the traditional length bed skirts arrived in the wrong color. I hope to correct by exchange.

Super soft and lovely. Shipping was awkward as it was jammed into the smallest box possible and the zipper to the comforter bag was unzipped. It was like the shipper knew the box was too little but still did their best to shove it in there. Product good... employee lazy.

These are great blackout curtains and I love the suction cup system. I would have given 5 stars if they could be adjusted or at least come in more than one size. My sons dorm room windows are 60 inches long...

My order arrived very fast, given the day I ordered it. My only concern was that a small part of my purchases was used already and given to me. Nonetheless, it was a small problem and the overall purchases were satisfying.
Just what was needed for my small office. The stand provided storage and bought the mini fridge up off the floor. Perfect color and size.
I ordered over $700 worth of stuff from this company. I did not get all of my purchases (2 items). Instead of them wither refunding my money or sending the placement, they stated that there warehouse said it was sent. This was not case. The items received were good for a college student.
They refuse to take returns, don't be fooled. Dormco is quick to send but absolutely rigid and refuse to exchange or accept returns.
The description for mattress encasements ordered was incorrectly listed an "encasement," as what was sent was simply a cover. Terrible customer service! They would not offer any help other than their standard return policy, which is also quite terrible. Customer paid shipping no matter what, apparently.

We purchased the metal dorm risers for my son for college. After putting them together and placing the bed on top, they were extremely unsteady. Unfortunately I did not realize that there was a 30 day return policy. I attempted to try to return the product 36 days from the original shipment and customer service refused to honor my money back. They also refused to give me an in-store credit. I wanted to leave my telephone number with them so that the owner could call me back and they said they were not sure that they would give the owner the message. Very unsatisfied customer!
We purchased one of Dormco's shipping boxes and shipping label packages. I packed each box making sure everything was wrapped and secure. During shipping UPS damaged not 1 but multiple boxes of the 10 we shipped. Dormco insures each box for $99. So first lesson do not pack items of value together. We submitted a claim to Dormco for $307 with pictures of each item that was damaged. Dormco approved and accepted only $198 from UPS so we are forced to pay to replace the other items out of our pockets. Lesson learned we would have saved money just shipping everything ourselves and NOT using Dormco and UPS.
While Dormco SEEMS to offer a great solution to all there is to buy before your kids head off to college, they will end up causing you nothing but stress and money. They DO NOT offer refunds on their merchandise unless you pay for the shipping back to them. This policy includes damaged merchandise, which I learned when I received a comforter with a big hole in it. They will not bend from their "refund policy" and will give you a canned response, repeatedly, to refer to their refund policy. That is their right to do so, however, policies are not iron clad and when a customer receives damaged merchandise it should not be their financial burden to return it. Not providing shipping labels also means it will take up a chunk of your time to make the return, as well. I am not the only customer to have experienced their non-existent customer service. On their own website, they only iist positive reviews, but if you look on Amazon or on the Better Business Bureau (ignore the letter grade... it is not authentic... the BBB site clearly states that they are not Accredited by the BBB), you will see others who have experienced the same/similar issues regarding their return policy. DORMIFY is a Dormco competitor (I have nothing to do with Dormify) and they offer return shipping labels, etc. Dormify understands that parents and students will often need to return merchandise once a room is set up. Much ends up not able to be used because it couldn't work in the space, etc. What Dormify and others understand is exactly what Dormco takes advantage of by not offering a reasonable return policy. While a company has the right to have any return policy they want, as a consumer you don't need to shop there. DORMIFY has a reasonable return policy with shipping labels sent to you. BED, BATH and BEYOND offers free shipping and free returns. TARGET as well as Many legitimate AMAZON merchants. DO yourself a huge favor and stay away from DORMCO.
Very disappointed. Ordered the YAK ABOUT IT LOCKING SAFE TRUNK - BLACK. It arrived in a flat box and needed over 81 pieces to be assembled. There was only two pages of vague photo instructions - we followed as best we could but closed the door before putting batteries in it. This caused us to be locked out. Contacted the company - they had no solution. Asked for photos, which I provided. Finally told me to "break into it" and then to mail the broken product back to them. It was ridiculously easy to break into. I told Dormco that I had lost faith in the product because it was poorly designed. They refused to give me a refund unless I dissembled the whole safe and mailed it back to them AT MY COST. Very Disappointed. I refuse to do business with a company that does not stand behind their products.
I ordered a comforter from DormCo. It got here and was unraveling in just 2 days out of the package. Attempted to return it since it was defective and the customer service was awful, practically refusing the refund.

They sent they wrong item to my daughter. A trunk instead of a bookshelf with a trunk. She did not realize the item was incorrect until she had it all together. Now in order to get the correct item, they want her to disassemble it, lug it to the mailroom across campus, and get the item returned before they will mail her the correct item. Oh, but they'll provide free shipping. Meanwhile her books are on the floor, she has no means of transportation, and she's living in a new state that she's unfamiliar with. Dormco sent me two comforters when I ordered one and received confirmation for one. I had to pay for return shipping for their error. Not good policy...

Answer: The shipping home is ground UPS shipping so when you pack expect your stuff to get thrown around. I shipped mugs, a brita filter, and a desk lamp (with the bulb still in it) from CA to TX and nothing was damaged. The boxes looked a little beat up when they arrived. I recommend wrapping particularly fragile items (glass, mugs) in packing paper and a comforter or blanket. I think this service was worth the price. Shipping USPS on your own is way more expensive.
