We had DISH Network and the bill would just automatically go up. I had set up auto payments to pay the bill. When I called in, I was told that their system was down and nobody could help me! I called back to disconnect our service and then they could help me! They offered me a deal of 1/3 off my bill. I was told that only "special customers" get that kind of offer! Such lies! They will go out of business for sure! I would give up all tv, before I would ever use them!
Couldn't cancel my DishTv. I had forgotten I'd negotiated for a less expensive monthly package, which extended my previous contract. Before I'd figured that out, the lady on the phone had asked me why I wanted to cancel. I told her my husband had died, and I was economizing. His name appeared nowhere on the contract. She asked for his name and date of death so she could look up his obituary! I was appalled, and came close to breaking down right then and there. I cannot believe any company would be so offensive. I'm contractually obligated for another year or so, and will happily cut all ties then.
I've been with dish for 20 years, I absolutely loved and bragged on them! Sadly, this year has been a nightmare.
For one the customer service is terrible! And if you have trouble with your service Good Luck on trying to get it fixed! We have been without service for almost a week! They charge way to much for the crappy service!
There are several programming problems most notably when using HBO/MAX series. They don't stream, especially GOT. Customer service 1st gaslight you, denies a problem & when you escalate it they say it's a tech problem that will be resolved in 72 hrs. Never happens. No callbacks, dropped calls all the time. Set aside at LEAST 3 hours to try & get help.

Omg i pay 140 just gor bsic cable and boxes they play the same old stupid shows for 14 years back to back im tired the took of mtv and told me i have to pay for extra channels im switching to comcast worst thing i could do
I'm tired of paying $165 a month for tv and on EVERY commercial break it's always some erectile disfunction or some trans or ru pall drag commercial. When did mentally unstable people take over our country? Sorry dish but I'm done.
The Joey which is a box used to run off the hopper tends to be unreliable and the techs and dish knows this. It's a point of paying for something the company will tell you has some minor occasional issues, but the techs will outright tell you it's an ongoing nightmare. Yes they offer wireless boxes for multiple rooms to keep you from having to pay for hoppers, but these mini receivers will lose connection constantly...then when you call after months of dealing with it happening 100 times a day with one joey, they of course run you through the, "unplug it and plug it back in." Routine. After realizing you're not the idiot they figure...it's the usual, we will send a tech out to replace the faulty equipment with the same thing and wait for it to happen again for a repeat performance...the techs inform their employers of the tech issues, but it seems this multi-million dollar Corp. Is like most, and ignores their employees advice to keep pushing half thought out services...otherwise yea...you get the number of channels you pay for but of course you won't watch half of what you pay for cause it's nonsense.

If you have another choice for TV service, TAKE IT..

I MOVED AND HAD TO CANCEL MY SERVICE. I WAS TOLD I HAVE A CREDIT ON MY ACCOUNT. FOR TWO MONTHS I HAVCE BEEN CALLING THEM AND BEING TOLD THAT THE CREDIT IS GOING TO BE BACK ON MY DEBIT CARD BY A CERTAIN DATE. THEY KEEP CHANGING THE DATE. THEN I WAS TOLD A CHECK WAS CUT TO ME OVER A MONTH AGO. I ASKED TO SPEAK TO A SUPERVISOR AND THE GENTLEMAN TOLD ME NO. THAT THEY WOULD TELL ME THE SAME THING. WHEN I ASKED TO SPEAK TO ONE ANYONE I WAS TOLD AGAIN...NO! THEIR CHAT LINE IS USELESS. I WAS A VERY GOOD CUSTOMER FOR MANY YEARS. TO BE TREATED LIKE THIS IS JUST RIDICULOUS. MY SERVICE WAS ALWAYS BAD, BUT I STUCK WITH THEM DUE TO NOT HAVING THE TIME TO DEAL WITH CHANGING COMPANIES. A MISTAKE I WILL ALWAYS REGRET. THIS COMPANY IS JUST HORRIBLE.
I was a happy customer of dish for over 14 years… Their customer service was great… Until I needed to cancel my Internet and satellite service due to my recent job loss… They wouldn't do it! I was told they would, reassured they would, and after numerous calls, I still kept getting a bill. They shut down my Internet, but not my dish/satellite… Took me over four months to finally get my refund… And that took numerous hours on hold with customer service, and finally emailing their corporate office! Dish is very happy to take my money… On time… But do not like giving refunds! They make it extremely difficult, and extremely hard to understand when customer service doesn't speak English as a first language!
Our local service techs come to my moms house drunk or in a bad mood because they are missing the ball game! She's 86 years old! Come a day or two later than what they say. Trying to get her to get something else. Had enough! Chincoteague VA
If you want to work, and you want 40 hours at least this company isn't for you. Go to a company who cares about you and your family, and not the old mighty $1.
We ordered service but we're unsure if we wanted to go ahead with it or not, as we were trying to get internet at our home. Did not was dish to begin with. An hour after ordering the dish and being told we had 24 hours to cancel. We found a new internet service available at our home. We called back to cancel the dish and they did not want to take no for an answer. Kept telling them we wan to canel. The rep kept trying to reschedule installation. Repeatedly told her no. Kept trying to give me better rates. I continued to tell her no. Finally after about 15 minutes of asking her to cancel and practically screaming we didn't want thr service she finally agreed to cancel. Beware of this service! I will never use them
Lesson learned after a Dish Technician stole valuables from my house => Use a security camera to record the movements of the Dish Technician while he is in your house and even when he is exiting. Take a picture of his vehicle's plates. That is the only way you can prove that he stole those valuables. Dish employs contract labor as Technicians. So, they disclaim all responsibility and do not help retrieve or compensate you for the stolen items.
I was a customer for 15 years. They constantly raised my bill each year. I would call and complain and they would 'find' a special offer to keep me. Last year i decided streaming was for me as I never watched 70% of the shows in my lowest tier of service. I now stream 100% and am happy. With them now rolling out 5G a word to the wise-DON'T DO IT! Unless they up their customer service and provide COMPETITIVE rates—-GO ELSEWHERE.
I came home to find my local channels, 2,,4, 5, 7, 30 gone. These are some of my favorite channels. The technician did try to help me, but nothing worked. He set up a service tech to come to my Apt in 6 days. That's not his fault, it's just too far out. I enjoy my programs a lot, this should not be happening. If it does, a service tech should be sent out that same day. I've had no trouble with Dish service, the customer service has been friendly. It is upsetting that I'm paying hard earned money for this problem to occur.
Answer: Because it sounds great to have 1200 channels even if 1195 channels are nothing but infomercials, most people like me think wow I will have so many movies to watch I might have to record 5 while I watch 1 but after you get your 1200 channels you realize most every movie you would like to see can only be viewed if you pay an extra rental fee, another huge disadvantage to satellite tv is the frequency of commercials and the time the commercials are shown, regular tv used to be a 2 minute commercial break, dish network and directv have over 5 minute commercial breaks

Answer: They bait and switch with their supposed DVR recording option that they change to On Demand, making it impossible for you to watch what you thought you recorded.
