Discover blew up my phone and email demanding I sign a consent form to exchange information with the IRS, review tax returns and verify me? If I did not do it immediately, they would close my account. I do not expect this from a credit card company that I pay on time and in full monthly. I declined, paid my full balance and closed the account. Then they added another $55 with no explanation. I paid again and closed. They sent a form saying I can never ever have a Discover Card again because I closed it. Shady ballsy company!
I got a discover card 10 years ago when I was 18 and it's been nothing but a leech on my account ever since. For example, I have put 120$ into it over the past 2 months and I have seen 20$ of that reflected in my account. The other 100$ has gone to "fee's and interest".

I had an absolutely terrible experience dealing with Ti*ara a supervisor in their customer service department. She was not helpful at all while I was trying to find out why there was a security hold on my cards and they were not processing my balance transfer. She said it would take 7 days. She canceled it and say it would have been ready tomorrow. It would have been transferred on a bank holiday? Why not just say that. Discover sucks with its promotions. Dont work with them. Find a company that give a ****.
I ordered a $2475.08 Hobie Kayak.July 2022. The website was a fraud. Discover will not help me because they say the merchant provided documentaion that proved I made the purchase, problem is I never received it! DIscover would rather believe the criminals will not help me! I am 72 on limited income and can't afford to pay for something I didn't receive! There is NO PROTECTION! The merchant cannot prove that they sent it to me! Should be a really easy search to prove that I never received the kayak! This is creating pain and suffering for me and I am going to turn this in to a lawsuit against Discover! SHAMEFUL!
Avoid Discover. A Houston car wash made unauthorized charges to my Discover card---fraud. Reported it & the charges were removed. Yay?! NO. After getting a new card (never used it once), what do I see? The SAME fraudulent car wash charges on my new card. I spent 6 months trying to get 'em removed ONLY TO BE TOLD by Discover the charges were removed! Lying liars. Had to pay it to avoid a late charge and my credit score getting dinged. Discover damages customers.
Husband applied for a personal loan with a credit score over 800 and 7% credit usage. They asked for a copy of his driver's license, a copy of his Social Security card, a copy of a bank statement or utility bill, and bank statements for past three months. I thought this was going way overboard for this credit scenario on a $12K loan. It was three days before we logged in without any notification from them to check my application status, where we found out they declined the loan because they could not confirm his identity. What couldn't they confirm? We supplied all the information they asked for, and they just closed out the application without so much as a phone call or asking any questions. We called, and the representative tried to pass it off as a problem with his credit report. I just pulled the credit reports, where there was nothing unusual. Now, his score dropped eight points because of the hard inquiry. Consequently, this has made it harder to shop for another loan as the quoted rates are now higher. Bogus! Thanks a lot, Discover!
I only have bank accounts with Discover, not credit cards, by design. They're very, very slow in posting transactions - which is a problem when I may forget about certain transactions & am used to being able to check online.
I signed up for 2 factor authentication, and there's an option to place a checkmark in a box telling the website to recognize my laptop. Customer service has been worthless, telling me I should check the box (it's been checked for over a year) as well as referring me to their FAQs which are worthless. I actually believe they don't bother to review prior messages in the thread, based on ludicrous and angering answers.
I was scammed by a company called monkey feet... Discover refused to refund me... said I don't have proof they did not refund... Like y'all see my account...you know I wasn't. I provided proof of the scam and that I was supposed to receive shoes...
Still said nothing they can do... I closed my account and won't be back! Never in all the years have I had a problem. The customer horrible!
This was the dumbest thing I've ever experienced from any company in my lifetime. Applied for card, got approved, said they'd withdraw sec dep from my bank acct, sent email saying it was successful and to expect my card in mail. Get card, try to activate it, doesn't work. Call them. Wasted 30 mins of my time being sent from dept to dept. Apparently my account was closed bc the transaction from my bank didn't go through. Only solution is to apply for the card again. Except this time, I wasn't approved! Brilliant stuff. Makes a lot of logical sense. Definitely will never be using them in the future. If the transaction failed, they should contact you and try to find out what went wrong, rather than sending a worthless card that does nothing, and telling me after the fact. MAJOR FAIL.
Worst card to use for Balance Transfers.
If you have balance transfers with different expiration dates, any payment over the minimum payment will be applied to the transfer that has the latest expiration date. Not the earliest expiration date. This of course does not allow you to pay off a transfer before expiration date. This allows Discover to then charge the full interest on amount of older transfer. I wanted to pay my oldest transfer off, but was told only 116.00 of my payment would go to the oldest transfer, and the rest would be applied to the transfer that expires in 2024.
If you put your bank password in wrong more than once your $#*!ed and can't apply again for a week I won't be applying ever again thanks
My interest rate was good at first, but went up 7 times since I got it! My payment became so high I canceled the card. Sneaky and greedy as far as I'm concerned!
I applied for a card before Christmas being a single mom of 3. I was approved for an 1,800.00 limit and yes used it all for Christmas but since then have been paying it off weekly if not twice a week. I received an email that they turned my card off due to them not able to verify something but with all honesty you should have done that before approving me. I totally understand people apply and never pay but these POS have been receiving payments weekly so why turn it off. My advice for anyone go somewhere else this company either just approved without checking or whatever but they suck in my eyes and even a person paying weekly they don't give a chance but had no problems taking over 100 points off my credit score and despite seeing payments made weekly they don't care. If someone needs to see proof of my payments I have no problem showing to help another person out. No one should have to go thru what I'm going thru.
Loyal customer, always paid bill in full before due date. Process of moving ex roommate used my card for junk removal without my permission. Filed report w police. Made claim on card. Investigator called and accused me of lying, slammed my character and was so aggressive and rude! Been going back and forth since September 2022! It's such a small amount I should just pay to have it over BUT I'm fighting it only for the principal of the matter BUT to prove that investigator wrong! Once over I'm closing account and posting to my social media followers.

I had been a Discover card holder since 2005. I paid my bills in full and on time for the entire 15 years. When the pandemic and shutdown hit, I stopped using the card in June of 2020. Six months later I received an email on Christmas Eve of all days saying that my account was being closed for lack of usage. Six months and during the pandemic shutdown. I thought that this was a mistake and called customer service to resolve it. After several calls and frustrating conversations, I was transferred to the misnamed "customer advocacy department". What an insult. That department did absolutely nothing remotely close to customer advocacy. The service was worse than with the initial customer service representatives.
Discover was once an excellent company with great customer service and benefits. It has hit bottom in those areas. While other card companies were assisting customers during the pandemic, Discover did the opposite. I didn't need the deferral of payments because my card was paid in full, but the lack of consideration during the pandemic exemplifies how bad this company has become. Discover has disrespect and disregard for its good, long, and loyal customers. What was once a stellar company won the race to the bottom.

So, I have been with discover bank for a long time I just got a credit card with them in January of 2022, and I have never missed a payment or anything and I only have a 2000 limit were I make ******* a year and have a score of 700 and me and my brother got are discover cards at the same time he had a score of 650 and a 700 limit and he missed 3 payments now his score is 625 and he is at a credit limit of 3000 what the $#*! I do not thank I am keeping this card since i am not going to be rewedded I called to see about a limit inches was told no so no to you to thanks you to me new card from American Express that i just got hope you not like discover card
It has been 29 days since I reported that charges were not mine. After so many calls I lost count. Given so many answers & all different. Countless letters 1 said to call did & no one knew why I was calling. After last review here got a email stating I would have a answer in 48 hours been 72 hours and nothing. They really don't care about card holders. Just the money. All the letters not 1 person would give a name or number to call.
Stopped my card... didn't notify me... account manager very rude talking over me then threatened to end call without fixing problem cause she spent to much time on me.
Suck!... will be moving my business elsewhere.
