You can tell trustpilot reviews of Depop those with "invited" are selectively invited by Depop to write reviews, not all the people find them good the reviews are being manipulated make to believe they are good are indeed poor, those reviews who aren't "invited" are then the genuine reviews, in trustpilot it always ask before you post "i am eligible to leave this review and have not been offered any incentive or payment to leave a review for this company" meaning you leave a genuine comment not one that has been bribe. The app simply wasted a lot of genuine seller's time to remove them for the smallest reason, supposedly you are meant to sell your secondhand goods that you don't wear but they went miles to remove them after you list - are they not time waster? The sellers had no protection whatsoever and they get scammed ever so often yet Depop kept all the scammer in there to kick out the genuine seller, these fools behind scene doesn't seem to be able to discern between right and wrong, black or white, some of those work behind scene are so arrogant and proud when dealing an issue, it's a matter of time for you to find out they are nothing helpful yet they kept sending you emails asking to review them tbh they have very low EQ and doesn't know human interaction and relationship in sales. Don't Waste your time building up your business in Depop, they took 13% fees and not long after they remove you for a stupid reason. I totally agree Vinted is growing and will soon overtake, more importantly 0% fees. I listed L'Occitane with vinted for only 5minutes someone bought the item which I had the same listed on Depop for over a month no one buys them.

OUTRAGEOUS FEES!

At this point I'm going to take ALL of my things off Depop and sale elsewhere! The fees are RIDICULOUS! I feel like I'm just giving away my stuff for FREE AT THIS POINT!

Worst customer service
February 1, 2021

I'm a seller and have been for nearly a year now, recently i had a buyer claim their item wasn't as described, although it was a custom request and it was what they asked for. There is little to no seller protection at all! They swiped money from my bank account to refund this buyer without listening to my side of the story. Will take the buyers side every time even when what the buyer has said isn't true. Honestly disappointed.

We bought an item from Nicole. Ann cos she had good reviews. She did not send the item for 1 month making crap excuses, and posting a false shipping date on depop. Did night get the item for 6 weeks! Added a fair review saying that it took a long time to come but Nicole. Ann asked depop to remove the review because it was "false ". Depop removed the review even when we appealed.
Don't believe any of the reviews, they are hand picked and anything less that 5 stars gets removed

I have been selling on Depop for a few years now. And recently my account has received several messages & emails from Team Depop support warning me about EXTREMELY FALSE accusations saying I'm doing things I have never done. And now they're threatening to close my account saying this is my final warning, but I didn't do any of the things they're claiming. I'm not a top seller and my account is smaller than most, I have 4,000 followers & over 130 sells & I have maintained 5 star reviews & (1) 4star. So I'm really confused about what's going on. I don't make a whole lot but the money I make does help especially during this pandemic so this is all quite disheartening. Super unprofessional, & unfair behavior from Team Depop

I have only recently switched from eBay as seller and started using depop. I find it easy to navagate fast and simple to load. Great presentation and lots of customers. I am actually very excited to work in this site.

I keep trying to sign up for depop and it says my number is invalid or some bull like that and when it decides to work it doesnt even send the verif code! I also bought a pair of jeans and never received it screw u depop kisss my a**

As another has stated, its run by vindictive staff who try to target & sabotage smaller sellers, whilst bigger ones can run amok and do what they please. Including stealing and using my photos which isnt even legal!
The past few days every item I've listed they instant removed. I've just now had another 30 removed and a email from a maria saying this is my last warning before account suspended. I replied back to her to point out where the valentino bra I'd uploaded BREACHED any rules eventually I got a reply of " this email address is not monitored message not recieved" bull she so got that message noticed they show pics of items removed but not the description so you cant pick them apart. I was originally targeted by another seller on my first removals ( I knew who and confronted them) but now it's just Depop agents being petty at small sellers who will have the audacity to question them, very unprofessional, they're like vindictive kids. Actually targeting their own incomes gonna cut down some of their jobs, they're gonna be sorry when karma hits. I use to just reupload all items only a copy paste job but this time I've re uploaded only 4 I honestly cant be bothered with them no more. It's just run by malicious staff & the sites full of timewasters. I've had abuse of buyers in past but then I was the one given the warning by depop and told they're not going to say anything to the other person lol. Also be very careful they manage to steal money out of one of my bank accounts that wasnt even connected to PayPal and hadnt been in months and had never been to do with depop

DONT TRUST DEPOP

I made my FIRST AND ONLY purchase on depop and it was a scam. Someone hacked into an existing account and sold me something that wasn't even for sale- they were able to prove authenticity but they had no intention of selling the product.So I have lost out on money and they are unable to help. I never write bad reviews, I generally give them the benefit of doubt but in this case their security wasn't good enough to spot this issue and therefore i have missed out. You're better off buying something off somewhere else when you know you'll actually receive the product or receive good customer service...

I recently downloaded the app to purchase some sneakers my sister wanted. She sent me the link and I ordered them. After I ordered the sneakers she comes back to me and tell me she realize this were fake and she didn't want them. I didn't feel safe buying fake sneakers so I reached out to the seller And and never answered me back until 2 days later. I was worried so I reached out to the app costumer service and PayPal. Let me tell you PayPal is a joke and fraud! They refuse to help me get my money back they told me I had to wait to receive the item and once I receive it to make a claim with them they will give the seller 10 days to respond and after I might get my money. Like I had no choice to change my mind! I reached don't to the seller again I requested a refund the seller said she will process the refund and next thing you know I get a notification that my item was shipped. When I tried to go back on the app my username and email "didn't exit". This is all bull and a scam. I emailed the app kelp desk but I'm pretty sure they are all scamming. So I'll be reporting them with my credit card company. BIG FRAUD DO NOT PURCHASE FROM HERE. INSTEAD OF RESOLVING MY ISSUE THEY DELETED MY ACCOUNT.

I've been selling on multiple other apps as well as Depop for years now, and Depop is the only app that doesn't seem to care about their sellers or buyers! The sellers that scam never get suspended, and the buyers who get scammed can never get a contact from depop since they have no direct in app payment system. Everything is done through PayPal and they don't seem to take any responsibility of anything that happens on the app.

They say they don't allow drop shipping but yet they give verified badges to drop shippers sourcing all their products from china.

People get suspended out of the blue for no reason, and cannot contact Depop for any assistance.

Lastly, please listen to the people that are dedicated to your platform. The majority of users are simply asking that you implement new, useful changes that prevent spam, abuse, etc along with fixing the current algorithm

Doesn't work

I tried signing up for Depop. I downloaded the app, entered my phone number (which seemed very suspicious), then i was sent a text message with a log in code to finish setting up the app. When i got to the end of the set up it said "an error has occurred" and i was not able to finish my account set up. I tried it the next day as well and the same thing happened. I also tried it on a computer instead of my iphone. Same thing happened. This app just seems to be used to gather phone numbers. I am concerned now that they have my phone number.

Worst platform

If someone doesn't like u or u don't accept their lowball offer, be prepared for them to report your items, and for customer service to keep threatening you. Many people can be posting the same things as you, but you get threatened and items deleted. Customer service is the worst I've ever experienced. They don't care about their sellers AT ALL. They punish you based on false accusations. I've sold over $300 of stuff this week on there yet they are threatening to ban my account bc of a false claim. Not a company I want to be profiting off of me, another platform that treats sellers with respect will gladly take my money. Not to mention, buyers are scammed so frequently and don't see their $$$ back, but they don't do anything about THOSE sellers. Depop you are THE WORST I DO NOT RECOMMEND!

Stole payment

Ordered a bag worth $70 on May 2020. Never received it. Followed up and kept saying they already shipped it. And Depop kept saying a promised tracking number thru email which it never did. Paypal doesnt want to credit me as well as Depop. This is a con company who steals your money. Never again. They should be reported to the highest goverment consumer department.

Depop sucks
September 3, 2020

Depop takes down user's accounts for no reason and the support is very problematic. Depop doesn't care about in app bullying as I've reported countless situations and Depop didn't take any action or even email me back on my reports, but they'd email me false accusations about conduct on my account. Don't bothering trusting AppStore reviews about Depop as they delete any honest reviews that effect their ratings.

My daughter used this site to buy from a seller. Product did not arrive, she tried to resolve with the seller, however was told by the seller that she had no responsibility after posting the item, she did not provide refunds and did nothing to resolve the issue. Depop did not do anything apart from side with the seller and removed my daughter review. Buyer beware, these are private sellers, and you appear to have no rights as a customer. If you do not receive your goods the only recourse is to claim via paypal (if you have used it), if the goods are not of the nature or substance expected and they seller has stated no refunds you appear to have nowhere to go based on our experience

Fraud
August 26, 2020

Depop is full of scammers, every other designer item listed is a replica. I have attached a photo of my PayPal dispute resolution page (I have been scammed 5 times by Depop sellers this year alone!) - all items were purchased in Depop and were either never shipped or counterfeit. Thank god for PayPal's outstanding customer service all were refunded. My favorite one was a pair of Valentino trainers for £300 that were as fake as the light of day and the seller was refusing to own up, had to compile a case comparing them to my genuine pair just to get my money back.

Then Depop closed my successful selling account of 4+ years with a total of all 5 star reviews for apparently trading "outside Depop" - in reality all my items are listed on both Depop and eBay and by default eBay listings get way more traffic and 9/10 times sell there first. Meaning I would have to mark Depop listings as sold.

DEPOP WAS SILENT WHEN I WAS BEING SCAMMED all those times but the minute they falsely assumed I was saving on fees they suspended my account.

Depop have removed my listings many times due to incorrect hashtags and keywords. I have emailed them many times to ask them to educate me and explain what exactly I am doing wrong. How will I know which words are the offending words if they don't tell me (there are no brand names). They simply ignore me. I really don't understand how they expect sellers to continue to sell on their app if they have such a poor level of service. If Depop want to succeed long term, they really will need to listen to buyers - after all, this is how Depop make their money. Without the buyers, Depop have nothing. Simon Beckerman, take note, if you want long term success, train your customer service team, or maybe invest in taking on more staff if resourcing is an issue. At the moment, you are really failing.
