I spent almost 2 months working with Dell's Ai department and sometime human beings, trying to find a fault on these computers (2 sent both of them back as the problem was beyond their capability to fix), it's a problem that's been around for quite a while now, I have a Desktop Inspiron from 2022 that has the same problem. Run: perfmon /report
It comes back with a fault code that no one at Dell can fix. (see photo)
Bought a computer. The screen got broken and sent it to Dell for repair. They charged me 200$. Two years later, the screen broke again in the same place and sent it to Dell for repair. They wanted to charge me 300$ for the same repair!
I bought a Dell Inspiron 15 (Intel iCore 7,13th generation, 1TB hard drive) in October 2023. Shockingly, by early 2025 — only about 1.5 years later — the keyboard/system already started malfunctioning. I don't even think the keyboard is physically damaged since I can still type; this feels more like a system/software fault. When I contacted Dell support, I was told I would be given a repair quote. I waited for almost a month with no reply at all. Only when I called again did they finally send me a quote — which turned out to be very expensive, with zero explanation or apology. This is completely unacceptable for a supposedly premium product. A laptop of this specification should not fail so quickly, and Dell's after-sales service has been slow, unhelpful, and not even apologetic. I expected far better support, but this whole experience has been extremely disappointing.
On 11/04/25, I applied for a loan with Dell Credit to purchase a laptop.
I received an approval from Dell Pay Credit.
I purchased the laptop and received an order approval.
The next day, I checked the status of my shipment. And noticed that the order was canceled, without any notification provided to me.
I called Dell Customer Service and spoke to Vishmu whom informed me that my order was cancelled and I needed to speak to the verification department.
I called the verification department at *******355. I spoke with a gentleman who informed me that I needed to pass a verification process for my order to be approved.
He requested that I send my ID and mail to *******@bread. Once received, I would receive a notice if my order was approved withing 7 business days.
I told him, "Absolutely not!" I'm a U.S. citizen, who resided at the same address over a decade, and recently closed a Big Lots account with a $5,000 limit with the bank. And I couldn't wait a week. I'm a business owner and need the laptop within 48 hours.
I asked him to cancel the application and advised him that I'd purchase the computer with a credit card. I "never" sent any of the requested information to Dell.
On 11/6/25, I received a survey opportunity with Dell Pay Credit. At that time, I expressed my disappointment in the credit process. And, advised Dell that they missed an opportunity to have me on board as a customer.
A few weeks later, I received an email notification from Credit Karma, that a new account was opened, lowering my perfect credit score.
I disputed the new account with the credit bureaus. Yet the account is still listed as a trade.
Fast Forward to 02/17/26. My Dell Alien laptop stopped connecting to my computer monitor. But the monitor connects to three other computers.
I called Dell Customer Service 8x! Three calls, and the automated service couldn't recognize my Service tag. The other 5 calls I entered my Service Tag through the automated service, then had to provide it to the operator, and again to Ronaldo, who left the phone on mute and never came back, to Shiny, who did the same thing. I spoke with Bavna and she disconnected the call. I spoke with Sahithi who was beyond rude and kept huffing and puffing when I asked her to repeat herself. Because her dialect was horrible, as the other agents! She put me on mute over 10x without asking me to hold. Each time, I was on hold for over 3-4 minutes. I kept saying, "hello". She didn't answer until she got ready. She insisted that I provide a call back number, even after I told her I didn't have one. And she could email me if the call was disconnected. She was too eager to get my number. I know that they sell customer's information. So, I provided her with 777-9311. LOL
She spent 25 minutes troubleshooting my monitor. After I told her, 5 times that the monitor worked with other computers. After 2 hours, I had to hang up to get ready for an appointment and still can't connect to my monitor. Chatgpt stated, Dell has known issues with the adapter ports going out. Each representative was rude and nasty!
Dell should be ashamed, outsourcing their work to foreigners. And wonder why security breaches occur.
Also, after I advised their Customer Service that I would leave a bad review. Now, when I go to the Dell site, my IP address is restricted. I have to access it from another device.
CASE NO *******
NEVER use their financing because its a ripoff. They lure you in with low interest then hit you with astronomical interest rates. I pay $196 each month but then they charge $147 each month for interest. Its a total waste of money and you pay double the price of the product
I have had issues with the Dell Inspiron 27 7710 All-In-One since the first week I got it. The unit goes to the dreaded blue screen EVERYDAY. Windows freeze up at random and on and on and on. Now they are telling me I am past the point in which I can send the unit back. Furthermore, as of today, they claim the issue is software related and that I need to pay them to troubleshoot. Screen shot attached is the "Problem History" clearly showing multiple issues with the HARDWARE. So after I have spent numerous hours of my own time I now have to pay someone to attempt to fix it, on top of it all. I honestly do not think this can be legal and will be consulting with my attorney.
I bought a 15" Vostro 7620 and paid for a 4-year Dell warranty. What a rip-off! One of the hinges has failed and Dell say, "Not covered". So I had an independent computer repair shop dismantle and report. He described no sign of external damage and an internal fault with the construction of the hinge. Dell refused to acknowledge receipt of the report or to respond except to say, "We already said no..." Rude, inefficient and wrong! I am professional technical (motoring) writer. Tomorrow, I will start an action against them. You shouldn't have to do this kind of thing...
Dell laptops have consistently impressed me with their exceptional performance and reliability. From the sleek designs to the powerful specifications, Dell laptops offer a seamless user experience. The keyboards are comfortable to type on, and the trackpads are responsive and precise. The display quality is remarkable, delivering vibrant colors and sharp details. Moreover, Dell laptops boast impressive battery life, ensuring long-lasting productivity on the go. Whether I'm using it for work, multimedia, or gaming, the smooth performance and speedy processing power never disappoint. The customer support provided by Dell is commendable, with prompt assistance and helpful resources. Overall, Dell laptops are a reliable choice for anyone seeking a blend of performance, durability, and customer satisfaction.
I ordered a Dell Alienware Aurora R10 desktop with an AMD Ryzen 5 3500 6-Core Processor, 16GB of RAM, and 1TB of storage. I purchased it in October/November of 2020 and was initially really happy with my PC.
By December, I had come across an issue with the Bluetooth drivers. No big deal to me because it was my first experience with tech support. Well, Dell support had me in their chat room for 5 hours (about an hour or two with one agent and three with the next). Then, I waited another 5 hours with another agent who had gone radio silent on the third hour and I waited by my PC as instructed for him to respond. They were primarily unresponsive, albeit somewhat professional. I have no doubts about their knowledge but it seems like they have so much on their plate, which I assume is a result of Dell outsourcing to less fortunate workers to exploit their time. That is biased but it is incredibly common. It wasn't until 2 am that I, exhausted, finally reached out to Microsoft support who resolved the issue within an hour.
I had 3 issues within the next year that required me to contact support, all of which were solved by Microsoft and NOT Dell. These issues were primarily related to the integrity of system updates provided by Alienware and Dell SupportAssist. Again, Microsoft somehow managed to solve the issues, so I was not peeved in any manner except for some minor/moderate frustrations with a lackluster performance on my PC's end.
Finally, my last straw was shredded. Recently, for about three months, I have had a persistent issue with my PC freezing, stuttering audio, and occasionally outright shutting down. Believe me, I contacted Dell and Microsoft, to no avail. I either got directed to wipe my PC or use SupportAssist to fix my issue. So... what's the purpose of Dell Support then? Anyway, I obviously was not ready to jump into the deep end and wipe my PC, so I checked SupportAssist. It said everything was functional. I went ahead with the wipe and lost around half of my "permanent" data, which was corrupted when I attempted to recover it. I've tried everything: resets, driver updates, and low graphics settings (which is unacceptable considering this PC ran games at ultra settings perfectly prior to this sudden issue) among other solutions that did not fix it. I am continuously researching this issue on my own time.
I recently learned that it may be my power supply causing the issue, which generally, at least in my experience, has a life span of at least four or five years. It has not even been three full years and something is obviously not right. Given my other solutions and attempted contacts with Dell, there aren't many things that can be wrong except the power supply and RAM.
Not only are their products unreliable, but their support is severely underwhelming. Despite the fact that I can most definitely be incorrect about my assumptions, it remains true that the PC's performance, regardless of its exact "location", is horrible.
Have purchased dells for 35 years. Finally need to use service contracts that I have paid thousands for over the years. They set up a meeting time/place for tech to arrive and I stayed home for the day. Tech no show. Called at end of day and said they need to show tomorrow - agreed on 1130am. No show. Called to reschedule and I said no thanks. They said they could come now but forgot parts. Called dell and told them I needed a different tech. Battery not charging, they sent battery, no instructions, no comm, no call. I researched and installed myself, no fix. They sent battery charge cord, no fix. I called them and they said the parts were not even in until yesterday. I asked why I took 3 days off of work if the first tech didn't even have the parts. I asked for a refund on my service contract plus interest for value of the money today. Person on phone said they would check into it and call me if they needed something. I asked when I would receive contact regarding the refund. He said he didn't know that I even would because it's a whole different department. I guess a 35 years purchaser of personal and business computers for multiple businesses is no longer important to them. I will never buy a dell computer again.
I spent over $3000 on a new Alienware computer, and it breaks every other month. I've had to send it in each time, and support doesn't help at all. Each time it's some random issue, and each time they completely wipe my hard drive, and I lose some important piece of data that didn't make it into the backup.
The chassis is crappy plastic, which is terrible for a computer this expensive. And the worst part is, the "support service" costs $150 a year, and I need to keep paying for it just to keep my computer running.
Save yourself some trouble, don't buy a Dell. I've never had these kinds of problems with HP or Apple.
Update: I installed Linux on it and at least now it's not breaking every other month. But the battery doesn't hold a charge anymore so I have to keep it plugged in at all times.
I bought a monitor, and the sale assistant sent me the wrong item, so I have to return it and re-order the correct one. After that, it has been a problem with no solution. I make payments for my monitor, but they still have the other returned into my account as a debt, I have been looking for help to refund or remove it from my account, but nobody has helped me. I have made so many calls and chats, but the only department you can talk to is sales, so they only want to sell their products but ignore the customers after buying them. Now they are making me pay for something I don't have, saying that they will send me to a collection even if I return, and also, I have the FedEx email confirmation. Once again, they only want my payment, but nobody has responded to my problem. I don't recommend this company to anybody.
They said I had to wait around a week and a half to 2 1/2 weeks to receive it and then after that they made me wait another three weeks because after that one and a half to 2 1/2 weeks was just to process my order and they say it wasn't even processed up until the 2 1/2 week mark so which means it's probably not even going to be here at the end of the three weeks. I'm just really pissed off at this because I have been wanting a computer for pretty much my whole life. I've never made enough money to get one and now I have the opportunity to get one. I have to wait two months because you lied to me I'm just tired of all those bull$#*!
It has been a year since I have had a Dell laptop, I have changed the touchpad 5 times already, and I have changed almost every part of my laptop till now. I am still highly disappointed. Wasted $1800 on this laptop. I will never recommend any of my friends to buy a Dell laptop
Dell computer discovered that the alienware notebook they went me was faulty. They sent a replacement computer to the wrong address - I repeatedly called them and emailed them and they still sent it anyway. The address was set up by a thief - I let Anytime Mailbox know and they cancelled the mailbox. We had to go to the mailbox to receive it - how unprofessional of Dell! I've been a longtime client of Dell and purchased many computers from them. I'm very disappointed.
I purchased a Inspiron 16 5625 earlier this year, paying over 750 for it. It has never worked properly, and trying (and failing) to get them to fix it has been the very worst customer experience of my life.
The cursor appears and disappears, selects and deletes swaths of text all on its own, grabs tabs and windows and minimizes them and moves them around, when all I'm trying to do is move the cursor. It's been happening since I got the machine. No amount of complaining will get them to successfully repair it, replace it, or refund my money. It's an absolute nightmare of a machine.
I spent all of that money, and now I'm going to have to lay out a few hundred more to get a Chromebook so I have something I can actually work on.
This is coming from someone who has been buying Dells since the 1980's, and I have gone through a LOT of them. I learned to accept the fact that they never last long, because computers become obsolete quickly and need to be replaced for that reason anyway, but this experience is my breaking point. No one should have to put up with this kind of treatment from any company, especially one they have been loyal to for decades.
I have easily spent ten thousand dollars at that company, all told, over the years. If they would send me a defective piece of crap and refuse to make it right, how do you think they'll treat you?
Have owned this dell XPS 15 9510 computer for 1.5 years First the mouse pad had to be replaced. Hardware issue in the first month but they refused to replace the computer. Sent someone to replace the part. Then the charger left it's male part in the computer. Broken and in need of replacement in the first 6 months. And now another hardware issue. Apparently "The Killer(R) Wi-Fi 6 AX1650s 160MHz wireless Network Adapter (201D2W) Adapter is experiencing driver or hardware related problems" Needless to say a computer without Wi-Fi is useless. THIS COMPUTER IS A LEMON. Not to mention that I hardly use it because the mouse changes position at will. While your typing you can look up to find that it inserted itself in the middle of another line. This has become the worst computer I have ever owned
I thought dell had a great reputation, I was wrong. Bought a labtop $1500 =+ tax for my son. 4 months blue screen, bad harddrive. Tech came in after hours of contact with dell. Opened lap top and week later replaced the harddrive. But in doing so ruined the keys, as now are now popping off. Poor service, poor product. $1500+ have no value? Shame on dell. Recommend go to Costco. Good service and products. They ruined the alienware line of products also
In general, the computer offers great value for its price. It's a breeze to set up, boots up swiftly, and the video camera can be easily toggled on and off. The only drawback is the screen resolution, which may require some adjustment period when it comes to reading text. If you're planning to utilize the computer for tasks like movie-watching or high-end photo editing, it may not be the ideal choice. However, for most day-to-day applications such as web browsing, managing personal finances, and general usage, it performs admirably well with remarkably fast response times.
I am beyond furious with my Dell computer. This thing is an absolute nightmare. I have lost count of how many times I have had to call a technician to come and fix it, and it seems like every time, a new problem arises. The fact that I have to constantly shell out money for repairs is outrageous.
But that's not even the worst part. The customer service at Dell is a complete joke. Every time I reached out for help with my computer, they completely ignored my problems and offered no real solutions. It's like they don't even care about their customers.
I have wasted countless hours on the phone with Dell customer service, and I have gotten absolutely nowhere. They are unhelpful, rude, and dismissive. It's like they want me to just give up and buy a new computer.
Failed to install win 11 and drivers dell software properly customer support is a joke cout sourced to INDIA, INDIA probably wrote the software horrible
Tried doing trade in with Dell and they have the worst trade in Value of their own product, worst you have to wait for the Trade in credit few days after before you can use it to purchase a new device. So much for encouraging people to consider recycling old devices in favor of new ones. Other companies like APPLE will give you better value when you trade in and can use the credit the same day.
I purchased a Dell Premium Service contract from Dell and the first time I contacted Dell for support it was a effort in futility. First I tried a chat session which lasted well over an hour only with no resolve to my issue. I then called Dell support and the technician set up a call back for the next day. Needless to say, NO ONE CALLED BACK. I then received several emails asking if I was still having issues. I explained in a return email no one ever called. I finally requested a refund for the service contract and now it is a wait and see if they will refund my money.
Answer:I did. I bought a machine that had hardware issues right out of the box and returned it within the 30-day window. They refunded me 100% of what I'd paid, no problem.
