I've called customer service 4 times since placing an order on July 2. I was told each time that they were processing the order. On Tuesday, July 11, I called again to see if my order (sheets) had shipped., I was told the order was back-ordered because the product was out of stock. I asked to speak to the head of customer service, Pauline (she was not available) so I left a voice mail. As of today July 13, I have not received a response.
Stay away!
I just realized that for the last 6 months, my credit card has been charged $14.95/per month for Cuddledown's "VIP Service" without my consent. Not only did I never sign up for this service, I cannot figure out what benefit is associated with this. While I have been satisfied with the products that I purchased, I feel that this so-called service is nothing but a scam.
I noticed a charge on my credit card on July 5 for $14.95 labeled "Cuddletown VIP". I purchased a blanket months ago and never, never agreed to pay for a VIP account. This is blatant fraud. Don't buy anything from this company.
I posted earlier that Cuddledown had apparently lost a purchased I returned in April. After waiting more than two months, they have finally located it. I hope Cuddledown gets situated after their warehouse move and returns to the excellent customer service I used to associate with them.
I ordered a blanket from them and it did not come for 24 days so I tried to contact them. I had checked earlier on line and it showed "back ordered". After contacting them twice today I experienced the worst customer service. My first call was answered by someone who could not check on the order because it was ordered too long ago. On my second call I was told that the order had been cancelled. I never got this message via e-mail or through the post office. Their personnel was extremely rude and unapologetical. They need some customer training desperately.
My order 5 day ago has still not left their warehouse according to online information. The FedEx shipping number is 'invalid' for two days now. I expected much better based on their stated quality. I sent them a note today expressing concern and hope to see a change by end of day today. Nerve wracking!
I logged on to the Cuddledown site on May 3 to order two sets of bamboo towels (bath, hand, washcloth) to ship as a Mother's Day gift. The site showed all were in stock, so I proceeded to order. I received an order confirmation on the third and a shipping notice on the 6th - a partial order ( so Mom got a partial gift). They ignored my e-mail inquiry. When I reached them by phone on the 15th, after a veeeery long hold period, I was told that the remaining items were in the warehouse but would ship 7 days from now. They said "sorry, that's all I can do for you". No gesture to compensate with a coupon or future discount. Very frustrating experience. I will not endure this treatment again.
As you can tell from the other reviews - I wish I would have read them prior to purchasing - I too was shafted by this company. I purchased an expensive comforter. Within a few months, it became unusable because the filling shifts and you end up with cold spots. I emailed, I called, I left review and NOTHING! What a disgrace of a company that claims they have a luxury products made in America with 100% satisfaction guaranteed. I am telling everyone I know to not do business with them.
I made two recent purchases and returned both. I never got an email from them stating they received the returns, and I called today. Thank goodness I have tracking numbers, but Customer Service informed me they haven't even received the first order back yet, and that from the time they receive it, it will take "4-6 weeks for them to issue a refund". And they also deduct $9.50 from the refund for their return fee. This is horrible customer service! I informed them I will never order from them again, and now I wonder if I will ever receive a refund. This is in addition to their extremely high prices on their items.
Do not do business with this company! Purchased online a very expensive comforter. They have a 100% satisfaction guarantee. I have contacted the company 3 times, both by email and by phone, and they are not getting back to me to give me the refund promised if not satisfied. The quality of the blanket for the money is crap. My "comforter" is basically a $400 sheet, because the fill is totally displaced and completely worthless. Order from overstock, better quality, better customer service, better value. Will be contacting credit card company to file a complaint. Pretty sure this "company" is one person, hiding from all the complaints about being ripped off. Will update review if they ever respond and honor their legal commitment.
I ordered a 600 fill down comforter only to see it snowing feathers when I took it out of the zipped allergy casing one month later. I wanted to take the comforter out to fluff it, per the care instructions. What a nightmare! Feathers were literally flying like a snowstorm.
I have confirmation that this returned comforter was received but Cuddledown still won't issue credit after 2 months. Thank goodness for credit cards as this transaction was $300!
I have emailed Cuddledown via their website at least 6 times and have Never had a response. On the phone they say they will transfer you to customer service... only to have the line drop!
They used to have great products so I hadn't had any reason to complain or return an item, but since last fall 2016 I have been overbilled, billed for items that were cancelled - via email and on the phone with a person, and made numerous phone calls to try and straighten out the billing mess.
HORRIBLE Horrible company to deal with and the product quality has declined to the point this is one of the biggest rip-offs around. Don't get me started on the outrageous prices!
I ordered a $300 "down proof" comforter from this company. Every time I take it out of the duvet there are feathers EVERYWHERE. I live in a 15th floor apartment. Where am I supposed to take this out to wash the duvet? There is no hole either, the feathers poke through from all over the fabric. So I called customer service and she was incredibly rude. Kept interrupting me and told me my only option is to send it back, which leaves me without a comforter on my bed but whatever, I want this thing gone. So I asked if this happens often (trying to decide if it is just defective and I should order a new one or just get a refund), and she said "I don't know, it's not like we have people calling every day with leaking feathers, I'm just in sales". So I asked if I could talk to customer service and she said "This IS customer service". Ok, fine. Hopefully getting my money back soon and will NEVER order from here again!
Bah - humbug. They ruined my Christmas. I ordered 2 pillowcases and a nightgown for my mother as a Xmas present on November 29,2016. On December21 i called them because the order had not arrived. The claimed to have required proof of address in a letter they mailed me even though they had confirmed the order by email and that was the reason they gave. They no longer had the nightgown in the size I wanted but I agreed to a larger size. They said the would overnight. Today, on the 23rd I got the two pillowcases but no nightgown. I phoned twice because the first person I talked with only took new orders and told me to call back. I was finally told that they cancelled the nightgown yesterday because the 4 they had left were defective. No phone call or email about it. I now have to drive 30 miles to a mall and find a gift. I will never spend another penny at Cuddlefown as long as I live
Early in 2016 I purchased pillows, with which I am happy, but that one-time purchase was completed. Now I find that I have been charged $14.95/per month for some mysterious VIP service for which I did not sign up, nor have I received a single service or product in exchange. My credit card has been charged without my assent, and when I called to ask about it, the person with whom, I spoke, "Kai" could not tell me what service I had purchased. He could only say that it was a free trial offer (through his laughter at my anger). For what? What was I to receive in return? It is shameful that Cuddledown would have to resort to such pitiful, sharp practices to raise money. I will not shop here again.
I have purchased a lot of bedding, blankets and furniture from Cuddledown over the years, mostly by phone from their catalogue, now online. Cuddledown had a program that tested fabrics and contents, certifying the contents and purity. In a world where 90% of cotton is GMO, and harsh chemicals are applied throughout the fleece, cloth and fiber industries, it is necessary to find decent products for your bedroom and bath. Most businesses just lie and cover up, and that's who Cuddledown is today. The certification of its products is no longer credible, its products are made in China, not in the United States, and the fabrice comes from unknown sources. Its customer service is appallingly bad. Cuddledown takes your money because you had to provide your card online to get the order process, yet they refuse to provide a detailed order or order summary to you by email or mail. They then give your personal financial information to 3rd parties without your knowledge or consent. You can contact their customer service 15 times over the course of a week, and no one ever gets back to you or responds. When your products don't show up for weeks and weeks and weeks, despite very high shipping charges, you can't find anyone in customer service. When you complaint, Cuddledown steals more money from your bank account, without your knowledge or consent. Cuddledown charged my card 3 times despite failing to deliver any goods at all to me. When I complained that I received nothing, they charge me again. They are married to FedEx, so that's 90% of the problem with the nonexistent and unreliable delivery. See the FedEx reviews for feedback from a whole lot of unhappy FedEx victims. What happened to this company? Is this another formerly good company going down the toilet? Apparently so. It turns out some company bought Cuddledown a few years ago, a company that trades in online marketing. No experience with the product line. No success with shipping and warehousing. People who insist on the poorest possible customer service, and ug! The new owners are trying to fire all the Maine employees and move the entire operation offshore. The new owners intend to destroy what was a great American business, Cuddledown, and in the process, all that was once great about America and small Made in America businesses.
Answer: Not sure. The product seems accurate, the rest of the processes, customer service, shipping are barely there.
Answer: You can contact them but you will not receive any help from them. I am stuck with a comforter cover that I never received the matching pillow shams.
Answer: Quality got me there - and their customer service and incompetence sent me running away! It was HORRIBLE and it still ain't over -
