I have enjoyed crave for about 2 years. Now starting in july the app on my phone no longer works and the chromecast tv no longer accepts the cast. Support from crave indicates my phone is no out of date and my 2 year old tv (toshiba) no longer accepts cast from crave. I paid for a year subscription and 2 months into this everything has stopped working. I want a refund, but Crave doesn't provide refunds, so that's 10 months of free money to bell/crave, what a bunch of thieves..
Its very difficult to connect and stay connected to crave, not nearly as user friendly as Netflix. It took 2 hrs to connect today... unhappy with the service.
Nothing new same old stuff from last year I would like to see them change the show lineup once a month
Crave offers no phone access for customer support. Crave will take your money without giving you the opportunity to cancel your subscription. They have no customer support to speak of. I have requested a refund as they charged me for a months service which I did not want. They offered no opportunity to speak with a representative and no assistance when needed. I would recommend against using this service as they are dismal at providing adequate support.
The selection is pretty sad, but what most turned me off is that there is no browsing for the starz add-on: it just shows 10 movies on the front page or you have to search, if you know the title of the movie you want to watch. Not user friendly. The worst, though, is their customer service. I cancelled on the last day of my subscription, and they said it was too late- because it was a prepay service they had already charged me and there was no refunds—- $270 annually!—- they wouldn't give me my money back for the subscription even though it hadn't started yet. That is epically shady. Stuck watching for another year but I'm going to now make sure I never get bell for phone or internet or anything - I don't want to be directed to that call centre ever again.
It's 2020. Hire better engineers when you charge enormous amounts of money for your subscriptions. Terrible video player. Can't change episodes, it gives an error when you try to play a different episode and you'll need to refresh the whole page and it's incredibly slow. No previews within the episodes either. 0/5 lol
Crave is terrible. A few great shows but the poor app and customer service makes it more frustrating than its worth. So many glitches.
I complained as it kept saying that I'm watching on too many devices and only one of my two registered devices was turned on. Customer service was clueless and really had no capability to figure out what to do.
I could go on about their terrible app interface both on the phone and on smart tv but there's plenty reviews that cover that...
Everything except basic old TV shows is an add-on for more money.
User interface is terrible, you scroll through a list, click on a show that interests you, then when you go back to the main menu it starts at the beginning again so you have to scroll through everything again and again.
Does not indicate what you have watched and what you haven't.
Can't bookmark shows to go back to.
Some shows start somewhere other than season 1. Who wants to watch a show and start on season 4?
On the bright side, the video quality was good.
I am writing this review as a result of fraudulent contract renewals. I received a notification on my credit card of an annual subscription charge. I immediately went online to cancelled both my subscriptions, only to find out the annual fee charge was not going to cancelled until July 21 2021.
As per "Contracts Under Civil and Common Law":
Unlike other agreements, a contract is a legally binding promise; if one of the parties fails or refuses to fulfil its promise (for example, to pay the agreed price, to provide the rented space or to pay the employee's salary) without a valid reason recognized by law, the party suffering the consequence of this breach of promise may call upon the courts either to force the defaulting party to carry out its promise (specific performance) or to demand compensation in the form of damages.
Conditions
To be valid and therefore legally binding, five conditions must be met. First there must be the mutual consent of both parties. No one can be held to a promise involuntarily made. When consent is given by error, under physical or moral duress, or as a result of fraudulent practises, the contract may be declared null and void at the request of the aggrieved party. In certain types of contractual relationship, the law demands that the consent of the party be both free and informed. This is the case, for instance, with contracts involving medical treatment.
Consumer Protection and Good Faith
Increasingly, provincial and federal legislatures are acting to protect citizens against certain abusive commercial practices. Consumer protection law, in which rules and standards are imposed to suppress fraud, to avoid forced sales and to protect the consumer against dishonest practices, is an example of this type of action. The new provisions of the Québec Civil Code concerning performance in good faith (article 1375 QCC) and abusive, illegible or incomprehensible clauses (article 1379 QCC) go a long way to promote fairness in contractual relationship.
This is legal documented contract law in Canada.
Today after advising one of your MANAGERS of this contact law, I was told this law only applies in Quebec, and not my home province of BC. I advised your representative this was incorrect and in fact contract law is all of Canada. I was then told I was in fact emailed a reminder 15 days prior to my contract renewal for 2020. I checked my email and had not been notified. I asked the representative if he could confirm on my account that this email reminder had been sent, which he replied Crave was not responsible for providing this information to its consumers.
I am FLABERGATED at this companies blatant lying to its consumers. I suppose its more profitable to force sales, even though you certainly will receive any return customers from myself or any other person I will be speaking to about this. Your company might run good margins, but this email will be posted to all social media websites and google review pages. Your company may think you can abuse the little guy, but the current state of media really should be taken into consideration.

Download to Go? Don't try to download to your PC and take to the cottage because Crave downloads do not support that device, only can download to your smartphone. Poor competition to Netfliks; Canadian Eh?
But unfortunately Canada seems to be owned by Bell. I like the shows, hate the app. This is why people pirate.
For all the hype and promotion, this is an embarrassment. I can't believe I spent so much on so little. It would've been cheaper to rent the handful of movies I actually have any interest in - and I'd be watching them all a second time. And it seems more geared to the politically enamored than those seeking actual entertainment, with categories straight out of identity politics.
The customer service model leaves much to be desired. It auto renewed my subscription even though I canceled. Their response no refunds per our terms & conditions. That would be OK for a monthly subscription but it totally unfair for the yearly subscription. Save your money too little content for the price, new content not added often enough to justify price. Have to pay extra for HBO and movies
The charge a full year with refund I never asked to be put on a renewal. I call as soon as I saw the charge they refused to refund me and said I have to pay for the entire year, a service I never used. Very rude on the phone too. It's a racket and they are like mobster stealing money from people.
(TelusOptic is my provider) Crave provides 4 movie channels and 2 HBO in my package. At times my options on these 4 channels include 'Canada's Drag Race', 'Legendary', the end of 'Legendary' and 'The Chi'. On HBO at the same point in time, I can choose to watch 'Ru Paul's Drag Race' or, again, 'Legendary'. Does 70-80% of my viewing choice have to be some super-woke statement piece?
I support their right to provide whatever programming they wish, but pushing an agenda for the woke crowd is enough. No longer supporting it. Speaking out.
I signed up for Cravetv then halfway through my subscription they made shows that were originally part of my package add ons. Not at all what i signed up for. Now today, almost a year since I cancelled my subscription I started wanting to watch some of their programming, as they have a decent selection. Went to re-subscribe and they only way to do it is through ITunes and they have no more yearly subscriptions that you can pay in one shot. Now I remember why I canceled, they are not getting my business again. Horrible services and very inefficient. Pass On CRAPTV!
Don't take the free trial! They will charge you. They did a one month free trial during the Covid-19 pandemic. They charged a bunch of people regardless. Its a scam in order to make money during the pandemic. Terrible!
I just signed up for crave tv for $9.99 and all i get is 12 movies you have to pay another $9.99 if want to see any decent movies that is BS. So my subscription lasted 20 mins when i found that out. So they scam you. I will never recommend Crave tv to anyone.
I'm french and I like to have original version but I'm not bilingual. So, I want to have it in English but with french subtitle but it's not possible! If I want it in english, I can have the
Subtitles just in english and if I choose the french version, I can have just the french subtitles. If I'm french, I don't need subtitles in french! I need subtitles in french when I choose the original English version! And I'm pretty sur that english people who want to listen in original french version need english subtitles! Is there anybody home?
L'abonnement ne donne pas accès aux films, il faut les acheter ou les louer pour les regarder.
Très mauvais...
Answer: I would not recommend getting CraveTV. Their customer support and technical support as well as quality is not upto the mark to compete with other service providers.
Answer: Because they only offer the absolute bare minimum for a streaming service, I suspect the ONLY reason it has lots of subscribers because crave seems to offer more rare shows, but for a bigger price mind you.
Answer: Not unless you want to rip all your hair out. Crave has serious streaming problems and mostly you cannot watch it. And if you can the sound is all tinny and canny.
Answer: Absolutely agreed. 100%. Also, they have the worst customer service I have ever experienced. Never give your payment information to ANY Bell Media company, because they will screw you. Contact the BBB to make a complaint.
Answer: You can't! In the settings online, there is an option, but it doesn't carry over to whatever streaming device you're using it with. Incompetent morons, owned and operated by Canada's leading internet service provider. And Bell Media wonder why people don't like them. My sister has a theory... that Bell keeps their website design backward and out of sync with current progress, so they have an excuse to charge you extra money for their incompetence.
