I have a Smart TV. I called to see how to get the access code. They refused to tell me. I suspected something was wrong. I tried to call Crackle 3 times and yet to get to talk to somebody. Thanks for the reviews from everybody!

The commercials are really super loud. If it weren't for that I have no complaints. It is that annoying to warrant 1 star.

Over 2 mintes of the SAME moronic comericals every 6 minutes of programming. Makes watching anything painful. Would be less painful if they played different commercials, and even better if there were less commercial breaks. Going to celebrate deleting this POS app.

Annoying
July 3, 2018

Does Sony have to stick 5 -6 commercials (and long ones at that) in every 5 minutes! It turns a hour and a half movie into 3 hours! If you want to get to bed early, don't bother watching Crackle at night! They need to shorten them and spread them out more (like every 15-20 minutes of the movie) At least the Roku Channel does this! Oh well, I can still watch Netflix and Hulu!( not saying Crackle doesn't have some good flicks, just do a better job with the ads!

Unable to connect.
July 3, 2018

We've been trying to "activate" for 4 weeks. Their site will never connect with ANY of our devices. Our internet is no speed-breaker but we can connect and stream with the other sites on our ROKU. Crackle is just a tease. We won't try them again.

Now much like Megan R., I can sit through four minutes of commercials every 15 minutes, but they still better go back to the movie. Because if a person is trying to stream a movie, but the commercials just leave the person in a paused state, the streaming service will not gain anymore visitation from said person.

I wouldn't loathe 4 minutes of commercials every 15 minutes (WTF) if the volume on said commercials wasn't twice as loud as the show or movie itself, not to mention once they start, you can't exit. So 9 ads later, I can finally exit back to the menu. Not to mention, the ad timing needs to flow with the show.
SONY: The more people that view your content the more you can charge for commercials, the more you charge for commercials the less commercials are needed to make money. So please for the love of God, take that step, spend money to make money Sony. Commercials need to be cut in half, to reflect cable tv commercial lengths, anything longer and they are going to lose viewers= less money for ad space. Just a strong suggestion.
Look at all these people who say flat out, it isn't worth it. Listen to your customers. 12+minutes of ads in a 27 minute show, is rediculous.

It's too bad too because there are a lot more good movies than on Netflix. But you can't watch them! I am starting to wonder if it's too old technology to be compatible with Windows 10. The worst is that the movie just stops running, leaving you with a screen shot that doesn't move. Re-booting the site doesn't help. The adds would be all right if it wasn't for this. (You can always turn off the sound and look a Facebook or check your e-mail for awhile.)

What a mess!
February 3, 2018

Hands down the worst designed Roku channel I've ever seen. The interface is highly confusing and unintuitive and seems to lack basic functions. Tried watching one movie on here, but it dumped out very quickly. This was after trying to figure out the interface and locking up the whole channel somehow. With so many functional channels supplying ad supported content, this is not worth it.

Everytime I get into a movie or t. V. show it kicks back to home almost everytime a Red Lobster ad comes on it kicks me out. I know this is free but damn shouldn't you be able to enjoy it too?

Commercials too loud
December 7, 2017

Ok I know it's a free app so I won't start off $#*!ing solely on the amount of commercials they play. That being said, I would not mind sitting through 4+ minutes of commercials if they didn't jack the volume of said commercials up to 3 or 4 times that of the actual movie I'm watching. Trying to watch a movie before you fall asleep? Yeah, don't even bother with this app, it will blow you're $#*!ing eardrums and that's barely an over exaggeration. Now back to length of commercials... I get it it's free and you have to get income somewhere, but over 4 minutes of commercials for each round of commercials during a sup-par (at best, and that's being very generous) movie is absolutely ridiculous. I'm writing this review as I watch this movienoj crackle that will be my last movie from this service. I will gladly pay the Netflix fee for decent and above movies and avoid the house shaking commercials. Now for the subtle jab I've been waiting for: this is what Microsoft get a for allowing a sony service. This service is garbage, you're better off paying for a service that actually gives you a halfway decent product because everything crackle offers is not worth the putting yourself through the advertisement volume and length.

So, I watching Jupiter Ascending on Crackle for the first time when I noticed:

Does anyone with a really functional attention span really have difficulty finding enough time away from social networking to give their full attention to a movie?

Only a millenial would think to put Facebook and Twitter widgets just there in the middle of a movie screen costing millions of dollars to provide the viewer with credible visual dynamics. The adds are annoying enough without this. Why not just make the Facebook and Twitter tabs cover the entire viewing area and be done with it? Make the ads scroll continuously through the entire movie, while playing loud annoying musial accompaniment in the background? Ad addicted idiots. Commercial broadcast television was virtually ad free compared to this rubbish. At least, we don't have to watch anything at all if we don't wish to. Life isn't just about selling or buying stuff 24/7.

Unbelievable
November 26, 2017

It is beyond me how in 2017 a company like Sony can put out a streaming app that hangs up constantly and apparently cannot buffer on a 60 mbit connection that runs Sling, Prime and Netflix flawlessly, without the slightest hiccup. I am talking about the Firestick version of the app. A complete waste of time and an impressive show of incompetence.

Waste of time
November 18, 2017

We spent more time watching commercials than the movie. The commercials are repetitive and pop up at the most random times. If you have remotely spotty internet connection, watching a 2 hour movie turns into a 5 hour ordeal. This app is terrible and useless.
