I pay for the absolute highest internet package. I get constant outages and anytime I need help they have an excuse why they can't. "It will be next Friday before we can get someone out" "there is an outage in the area so we can't schedule anyone until that's cleared up" "our stores are only open 4 days a week they can't help you either" so im stuck with no internet for a week? I can't even get att as it's not available at high speeds in my neighborhood. I hate cox if I had ANY other choice I'd leave them so fast their heads would spin. If you can sign up for any other providers, DO IT!
I qualify for free internet and they continue to draft money from my account. They promise to credit it in the future just to get a bill with a random $5 charge? Xfinity was one million times better!
Was told I could have extension on my account for internet services for 3 more days then make payment BS they turned it off as soon as I got off the phone lies very unprofessional an they say there here to help lol lol.
It is always hard to find the right number.
After many disconnects and over an hour.
I ended up with someone in wrong department.
She said her cable company hides the numbers too! And she didn't even know the correct number either?
I finally spoke to someone and told them to cancel the account!
It never got canceled and was never used again!
They never canceled and they have notes that I did request to cancel it in January!
And they know the account wasn't used again too!
I got disconnected 3 times today!
They are NOT INTERESTED IN CUSTOMERS AT ALL!
OR CUSTOMER SERVICE!
They just want to steal money when every they can!
This company is heartless and money hungry with overpriced service... I called to make arrangements, because I was in the hospital with a stroke. They ran my old card and place me of restriction saying that I had a return check... First of all I talked to someone and they told me that they will give me an extension. I paid over the phone on the date as I promise... 2 days later I get a email saying my cable facing cancelation. I call and again try to make arrangements after I just paid them 2 days ago. Now they saying my account is restricted from making schedule payments. Why they didn't say I was on restriction when I made the payment agreement 2 days ago? This guy didn't say anything about a restriction when he gave me the extension. So basically I paid the past due over $200 just to be in another past due for $300 2 days later with no arrangement? I should've just use that money on a real Bill. This service sucks and for the money it's not even worth it. All the money people spend on Cox they get VHS old movies and the same movies every other day. I'm going to pay the balance off when I get caught up on my real bills and going to use century link to stream my movies. COX take advantage of people for their service. We're in hard times from life and the pandemic and yet they so greddy, cold hearted. Please don't get their service. It's not worth your hard earned money. Now understand why my friends say they don't have cable. They stream...
They've got you by the cajones and they know it! OVERPRICED! I don't need my landline any more, but my rate will INCREASE if I get rid of it! WTF? With the kind of money they're stealing from their customers, they should fund Trump's next election campaign! Or better yet, bail out Sleepy Joe's crooked son!
WE NEED A COMPETITOR!
I'm so angry with Cox wifi, first, this is the only service in our community which means I have no choice. During my 9 months of using it, I can rate them 1.5! They are the most unstable networking ever! Especially during this month, I have no idea why they suddenly disappeared multiple times and frequently! I can safely say that it has lost 5-6 times in the last two weeks! One time during my meeting, everyone has to stop it, and it takes 30 mins for them to fix it, another time I was taking a quiz! It suddenly disconnects, I have got a low score. What's worst? Their customer service, like now, at 10:00 pm, my networking broken, and not any emergency services can provide now! Which means I have to wait until tomorrow, and this isn't the first time I've had an Internet blackout at night and no one can help me!
So, choose another company if you have a choice, a stable and better one!
Pickup self connect starter internet kit,
Hooked up... NOTHING! After 4 hours on the phone with 3 different tech support/ customer service agents- even a tier 2 support couldn't resolve issue.
Have to return everything for a new kit. Apparently quality control flunked!
Is there not an internet provider that is worth their salt. I think not!
COX IS THE WORST: Please read this!

I told Cox I was taking a break from they're internet service. They made a big fuss about it. (My tech guy said to get Tmobile's internet because it's way faster & it would take cox millions to catch up)
2nd
Today (April 8,2022 im paying $174 for cable) I told my father to watch & see how Cox makes it difficult to leave their cable.
I was on the phone for almost an hour telling them I'm leaving their cable, they had the audacity to ask me: What are you going to do about cable then?!
I said it's none of your business to ask me that, however I said I'm tired of price rises because we only have regular channels.
The Cox Guy said I have HBO, Starz, Showtime & Max.
I said no, I never ordered those channels.
He said I've had them since I got rid of internet.
I told him I never Ordered or Gave Permission to have those Channels.
He Did Not Deny that Fact about the Channels I didn't Order -Yet Argued on -If you leave you will lose your loyalty plan and can't do anything about if you come back.
(There's more than what I'm saying right now but everyone should get the point. Cox loyalty is only they're pockets)
Had Cox for a few years and they are the absolute worst. Internet constantly going out. Wasn't able to watch the masters due to internet and therefore cable issues. Do not use this service if any other is available, they are the worst!
Cox thinks it is ok to limit its customers internet access. They "filtered" the ports on the router (which means closed the ports) and refused to reopen them. They think it is ok to do this like some kind of nanny state nonsense. I can handle MY OWN internet security. They have disallowed me access to my Brothers Plex server. This is not their concern and none of their business. We pay full price for their so called "service" but do not get full internet access. That's just loose butt hole and they can go 'ef their selves. After their little discount for the dissatisfaction, we will be switching to Century Link fiber. Century Link does not take it upon themselves to decide for their customers what they can access or not access. I'd give a big fat zero on the stars here if I could. Cox needs to add the name Suckers or Sockets to their name.
Over the past few weeks our internet has been going out intermittently at our home, forcing us to use hotspot on our cellphones for our occupations as a teacher and a grad student.
When we called Cox, they acknowledged that our internet had been periodically going out, and said the next step was to send someone out.
The catch?
If Cox determined that anything else was causing the issue that we are paying for (i. E, faulty wiring in the walls), they were going to charge us a $75 fee for checking it out.
Basically, in order to fix the issue with the internet, we were threatened with a fee.
It gets better, though. They tried to sell us ANOTHER product, a "protection" JUST IN CASE they determined the problem with their internet was *our* fault.
Unbelievable. Truly terrible service.
Is there enough people here who would be interested in looking in to filing a class action against cox? I've been a dedicated customer to this company for over a decade and I absolutely hate them. If I could have comparable service with another company I would in a heartbeat but unfortunately my area doesn't offer any other high-speed internet services that work. I'm tired of paying $300 + every single month with all the different charges, fees, taxes that I don't even know what they are half the time. I NEVER have the same price bill. We can never get anyone to truly help us get anything resolved. They treat long term customers like $#*! for lack of better words. It's got to a point it's disappointing, it's frustrating & frankly unbearable to pay so much. If there are enough people maybe we can force the hand of this monopolizing company who does not care about their customers. It's enough. It doesn't help that we literally pay for gigablast internet services and still have issues constantly. We could at least get what we pay for you'd think. Anyone truly interested in taking it to this next extreme?! I don't see them doing anything to help or fix these problems without going to this extent.
I think many of us Cox customers should just sue and demand our Government to take action against this company. They are throttling upload speeds, blocking business VPN's and randomly interrupting the internet service In order to control usages across the board.
This should be illegal since they advertise that it can play games, work from home and provides internet to over 10 devices. In reality it does not even run one device efficiently and therefore they should be sued for their business practices as this does scam the customers especially without having alternatives in most areas.
Write your congressman and contact the media about these issues should your experience them because Cox will not help you without being forced.
I pay for gigablast, one of their most expensive options. Id hope to at least be able to play my game without lag since Im paying over 100 a month for internet right? Nope. I can't even stream Netflix BY ITSELF without it constantly buffering, and when I do decide to try and play my game ( even though I know there's no point because it will be unbearably laggy) I make sure EVERY device is disconnected from the internet to strengthen my chances to be able to play online but no, even with just my PC hooked up to the internet, I still lag. This company should not be in business they charge way overprice you'd be better off buying prepaid 20 dollar wifi than this. Save your time and money and take my advice I've had no other choice but to use them since I live in a military base and when I tell you I am RELIEVED to be getting rid of this absolute excuse of an internet. 0/10, worst internet I've ever had not exaggerating one bit either.
I truly hate cox communication, the only reason I still have them is because the complex I live in offers high speed internet at a really good price! We all know Cox is soooo over priced just on the wifi alone can cost damn near 200.00 + monthly! Anyway they also offered TV services witch later on I found out did not include the recdeiver boxes I received so I returned them at a local store in the big return box they have for customers that don't want to wait in line. (my bad) only to be told they don't have them so they have continued to change me monthly for something I no longer have, they can see has not been in use, not only that they have discounted my paid in full internet service witch has nothing to do with the TV boxes that I'm being charged for! Oh an when you call you get the run around and lied to my the employees unable to get a stright answer for anyone to save your life! Really and honestly just a horrible company all the way around, and I wish they didn't have most of the coverage in my area cause I do truly dislike Cox Communications with every fiber in my body!
I needed to edit my router settings. The settings page said they were being "automatically managed" and wouldn't allow me to edit the settings I needed to connect an older device I had that wasn't compatible with the new configurations. I could literally see the thing I needed to change right there on the page in a drop down menu that was grayed out. So I called customer service and was treated horribly.
The first person I talked to transferred me to tier 2 quickly, and the tier 2 tech support guy was nice but couldn't get me what I needed. He said he would transfer me to an engineer in tier 3, but then hung up on me. I waited a little bit for a callback, but never got one.
So I called again. I got stuck with a guy who was polite, but clearly didn't know what he was doing. He would repeat back to me what he thought my issue was, but it was a totally different thing. I would clarify and he would keep saying "oh so you need help with [completely wrong thing that has nothing to do with my issue]." Then he said I needed to pay $10 a month for more help. I have to pay extra to get support for a service I am already billed a high amount for? That's ridiculous! Eventually I convinced him to pass me onto a tier 2 agent, hoping I would be able to talk to the man who had hung up on me before (probably accidentally). Then I spoke with a woman who was very rude and lied to me, saying there was no tier 3, she was the highest it went, and that there was no way anyone could change that setting I needed changed. She also tried to say I needed to pay $10 a month to receive more help. How can Cox claim to be a good business when they won't even help you when their product is faulty?
I don't recommend Cox because they lie to you, are overly complicated on purpose in hopes of selling you more stuff you don't need, and refuse to give you full control over your own account even if you are a paying customer.
I am the administrator for my account, I should be able to change my own settings.
No one should have to pay extra for competent tech support. Honestly, what I needed wasn't even tech support. I just needed to change one setting that was already on the page. This is ridiculous.
They are the worst in everything such SCAMM
I keep paying more for faster net and it gets slower, they disconnect my router every night after midnight we have no net
I requested another modem they scheduled and rescheduled my appointment 7 times. Please please DO NOT WAIST ur time and money with this company they are USELESS
GAMERS BEWARE.
I have had cox for over 20 years.
I live in an area where cox monopolizes coaxial internet.
Long story short, cox cannot fix my problem because their infrastructure is outdated. After countless hours wasted troubleshooting their issues FOR them, a cox specialist was sent out to check the "node" that provides internet to the neighborhood. The node cannot meet supply and demand for the amount of users on their internet, so their nodes get overloaded causing packet loss. I get about 10-50% packet loss any time during the day. I'll have patches of an hour or two where I might not have any problems, but once everyone on their service starts using the internet, their infrastructure can't handle the overload, and packets get lost. It makes gaming unbearable.
I asked the specialist if they can troubleshoot the problem down the line, but he said that to make any repairs would require permits from the city, and that could take 1-2 years. Packet loss is a very tricky issue to troubleshoot, and it would take an immense amount of time to find the issue, because anything down to the wires could be causing it.
On a side note, Cox takes extremely terrible notes in their customer service. When I tried to get help, I would have to start from scratch, because they have no idea what has been troubleshooted. It was like a broken record, "let's try resetting your modem", they would ALWAYS start with. I must have gone through a dozen cox employees before I finally called them, and asked them to add notes to my account about what has been troubleshooted about my service.
I've been dealing with these issues since 2019. I pay over $160 for internet alone, because I need reliable, stable, fast internet. The only cure for this company is to move away from them.
Answer: Count me in too! Cox needs a lesson in customer service.
