ConsumerLab.com provides independent test results, reviews, ratings and comparisons of vitamins, supplements, herb and nutrition products to consumers and healthcare providers.
ConsumerLab enjoys a strong reputation among its users, who appreciate the unbiased, detailed information it provides on supplements and health products. Customers frequently highlight the site’s thorough research and reliable testing, which empowers them to make informed decisions about their health. However, some users express frustration with the frequency of email updates and recent login issues related to cookie settings. Additionally, there are requests for broader product reviews, particularly from popular retailers. Overall, while the service is highly valued for its quality and reliability, there are areas for improvement in user experience and communication.

Consumer Lab is a source of health information that I can trust - a rarity these days. I originally became a member years ago to read reviews and info about supplements, but I continue to learn so much more. In particular, CL has been a reliable resource throughout the COVID crisis. There is always something in the emails that interests me, usually several items. Keep up the good work, Consumer Lab!
Good. Good sound reviews and articles.
A bit disappointed in the one sided Covid and Vaccine articles, though.
I enjoy reading reviews and always look to your website for info before purchasing any new supplement, and been using your site for a few years. There are many other supplements that I do not find on your website, and I hope you will expand your reviews to include more.
We're glad to have you as a member, Janice! Thanks for your review. You can always feel free, as can any member, to shoot us suggestions for products that you would like us to review. We love to hear from our customers.
We always check Consumer Reports when making purchases. The research is trustworthy and their explanations of the results clear.
Consumer Lab has been very helpful in providing information on the supplements I take. I can be confident that I'm purchasing quality supplements and that I take them in the best possible way.
We're glad that you enjoy ConsumerLab.com James. Thank you for posting your comments.
In the main, I find this to be a wonderful resource. I appreciate learning about the products you have tested, and your results have influenced buying habits for many products. For all of that, five stars!
I understand that you cannot be all things to all people, but I sometimes find that specific products tested were not anything I use or recognize as something seen in the Midwest. Another issue is that some of the studies you cite of how certain nutrients or commodities affected people are based on such small numbers of subjects that I doubt their validity. Occasionally you flag those studies, but (I suspect) not as often as you should.
Nonetheless, keep on doing so much good work.
We're glad to have you as a member, Jan! Thanks for your review. You can always feel free, as can any member, to shoot us suggestions for brands that you would like us to test.
Consumer Labs allows you to avoid taking supplements containing contaminants and know how effective the supplements are based on scientific research if any has been done.
Thank you for that nice review, Carmen. We're glad that you appreciate our work. Thanks for your support.
ConsumerLab is my go to for so many health and supplement questions!
Thank you for that nice feedback, Olive! We are glad you are enjoying your ConsumerLab.com membership.
I have not bought items due to ConsumerLab's information. Elderberry is one such vitamin--no significant evidence that is does what some companies say on commercials.
The only thing I have noticed lately is there are not as many products reviewed. One example is multivitamins, previously you reviewed New Chapter and it is not listed currently.
In general I trust and enjoy reading everything you post.
Thank you Susan for your kind words about ConsumerLab. We appreciate your support as a member. We do test many New Chapter products https://www.consumerlab.com/new-chapter/ but, unfortunately, are not able to test the same brands, along with new ones, each time we repeat the category for review.
I always consult supplement product reviews before purchasing. I only wish there were more brands included with each review.
ConsumerLab.com is an invaluable tool for me when I'm going to purchase vitamins and other supplements. Their evaluations
Are extremely thorough and unbiased. Besides reviewing the most popular brands, ConsumerLab provides a great deal of
Scientific data as part of each review. I recommend this website to everyone... definitely worth the more-than-reasonable cost of membership!
Thank you very much for sharing that, Arlene. We are happy that you appreciate the work we are doing. We appreciate your support!
I find the information useful when I look for a supplement. The information has references to studies and tests of products. This is very helpful when there is so much information floating around the internet.
We're glad to have you as a member, Susanne! Thanks for your review.
Been a member for a number years and rely on their ratings and articles on health related issues. Excellent coverage of Covid in all respects. They have showed areas where supplements can be dangerous too, i. E. foreign stuff (heavy metals and others). A great resource for all.
We're glad to hear that ConsumerLab.com is helpful to you, Alan. Thanks for your review!
I find that your subjects reviewed are important and current.
I find it a little bird to quickly read what I've already paid for.
The must be a way that a member doesn't have to find it necessary. My email address should be my ticket to get in. Easily.
I have been a member of ConsumerLab for several years and find it has saved me hours of research on supplements, health issues and food products. I really appreciate that the pros and cons of the latest research on products is referenced and presented in a way that a non medical person can understand. The non-biased research is educational and has helped me make informed decisions about my health.
We're glad to have you as a member, Patricia! Thanks for your review.
Awesome resource for up to date reviews and analyses of many foods, vitamins and supplements. It's a go to resource before spending money blindly on those items. The information I have found in the website has informed me many times on what to purchase.
Thank you for that nice review, Sue. We're glad that you appreciate our work. Thanks for your support.
CL is my go to for supplement facts and that is important because products can be advertised for all sorts of miracles and may not have any truth about their claims nor ingredients. My recommendation for CL is to not group all B vitamins into a lump and be more specific to each and I would like to see lab results for oils such as jojoba, sweet almond oils, coconut oil, etc.
Thanks for your nice review and suggestions, Priscilla! We do have a review of coconut oils (at https://www.consumerlab.com/coconut-oil/) and many other oils, with more on the way. Our B Vitamin Review does breakout the single B vitamin supplements, but there are also many combinations (B "complexes"), making it hard to separate these due to the extensive overlap -- but we'll certainly keep your comment in mind.
This is my go-to site before I buy supplements, food products, and Covid info. Thanks for doing the detailed testing and compiling research on all these products and issues.
Thank you very much for sharing that, Kathleen. We are very glad that you appreciate the work we are doing. We appreciate your support.
I became aware of ConsumerLab.com while reading my Nutrition Action newsletter. It has been so helpful in assisting me on what products to get and which to avoid. These two companies are my Bible for nutrition, physical fitness and overall health. Keep up the wonderful work you are doing!
Thank you very much for sharing that, Edna. We are very glad that you appreciate the work we are doing. We appreciate your support.
As a member from early on, I happily keep up my membership for peace of mind. With no way of knowing what's actually in a product underneath the sales hype and glitzy packaging, I've been known to look things up while shopping. Who doesn't love a company that removes the worry factor? Because toxic ingredients are in our everyday products—i am grateful that ConsumerLab vets under-regulated products for us all.
We're glad that you are enjoying your membership to ConsumerLab, Suzy. Thanks for the great review!
Answer: Hi Denise, We have actually covered this topic on our website https://www.consumerlab.com/answers/does-prevagen-really-improve-memory/prevagen-memory/.

We show the calculated cost per month for reference, so you can see that the 2-year subscription is less expensive. If you would like to cancel, please email [email protected] with your name and email and we will process your request (typically within 1-2 business days).
Answer: Hi Frank - I believe you are referring to the review of ConsumerLab from 2004 Journal of the Medical Library Association. Our content and website have continued to expanded annually and membership has increased over those 16 years. Answer: Not yet, but we may next year. We have written about PQQ: https://www.consumerlab.com/answers/is-pqq-similar-to-coq10/what_is_PQQ/
Answer: Hi Theresa - As noted on our site, we permit subscribers to print a copy of our reports for their personal use, but we do not permit not copying or downloads. If you were somehow able to download content from our site, it is quite possible that it would only work while your membership was current.
Answer: There is no single best supplement or brand. It's best to focus on the type of supplement you are looking for, e.g., multivitamin, fish oil, probiotic, herbal) and read our Product Review for that specific category and see which product is our Top Pick for that category. Here is a list of our current reports: https://www.consumerlab.com/results/
Answer: Yes, we recently published a new report on turmeric and curcumin supplements as well as turmeric spice (ground root powders) at https://www.consumerlab.com/reviews/turmeric-curcumin-supplements-spice-review/turmeric/
Answer: Hi Barbara - You can give a gift membership to ConsumerLab.com from this page: https://www.consumerlab.com/giftcerts/. We have a link to this at the bottom of every page, but the font is a bit small. Hope that helps.
