Consumer Financial Protection Bureau deserves a minus 100 rating. The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency rarely ever does its job, so it assigns out cases where Americans have their bank accounts stolen by banks to the CFPB who then does nothing at all but further harm Americans. What a joke. What an expensive hoax. Get rid of these robbers, thieves and liars who do absolutely nothing to protect Americans harmed by American banks.
Filing 2 complaints through you was a total waste of my time! This bureau & its processes are useless! After a company responds to a complaint, regardless of the vagueness of the response, CFPB automatically closes the complaint! CFPB does this without giving the complainant an opportunity to respond to the company's response. THIS IS RIDICULOUS & I'LL NEVER FILE A WORTHLESS COMPLAING THROUGH CFPB's USELESS-USE-OF-OUR-TAX-DOLLAR-BUREAU AGAIN!
Absolutely horrible employee, supervisor Jesse, she should be fired immediately.it sickens me that my taxes pay her salary...
I am an I.T. Professional. I am amazed on how many people are caught up in scams. So, I decided to put a list of things to watch out for.
1. No reputable business or government agency will ever call you or ask you for money.
2. If you do get called by someone representing themselves from a business or government agency hang up immediately and do not speak to them. Then lookup the number of the place that called you and call them. Ask them if they were calling you. The answer will always be no.
3. Emails stating that something is wrong with one of your accounts or there is some issue. Ignore these emails. Do not respond. Again, if you think you should talk to them call them. Do NOT Call the Number in the EMAIL. Look up the number yourself. The business you think the email came from will tell you they would never send you an email like that.
4. Do not get caught up into calling a number from an email. Definitely a scam.
5. All of a sudden you see a flashing screen saying you have been hacked. It is a scam, do not call the number on the screen. Close your browser and reboot your computer. You will see that the flashing screen will be gone. Remember DO NOT CALL THE NUMBER ON THE SCREEN.
6. The bottom line is that once someone starts asking for money or they want to fix your account or there trying to help you, to give them money, they are scammers.
7. If you receive an email that says you won something or something is being shipped to you, remember that if it is too good to be true, then it is. Do not believe it. They are trying to scam you.
8. Before you do anything you would regret get hold of the company directly and ask them if it was them that sent the email or called you or any other kind of contact method. The answer will always be NO.
9. Be smart, be safe keep your hard earned money. Don't be one of the millions that are scammed each year,.
Some Examples of Other Miscellaneous Scams:
1, You are told you won a sweepstakes or lottery that you did not enter, or that you are owed money from a class-action lawsuit.
2. You are asked to pay upfront taxes or fees – either foreign or domestic.
3. You are being pressured to act now and, in this most recent scam involving us, the scammers will threaten that the CFPB will open an investigation if you do not send your payment. Scammers don't want you to take the time to do research or to think too carefully before parting with your money.
4. A person claiming to be a government official contacts you to confirm your windfall. The emails sent may even appear to be from real government email addresses, but if you look further the email used is not a ".gov" email.
This company does nothing for the consumer. I filed a complaint about navy Federal doing the same thing to me what they did to their customers 7 years ago and got fined for but consumer financial protection bureau did nothing but help out navy Federal. This company is a joke
Sad to say that my hopes that the formation of the CFPB would provide protection for consumers aginst big finance was just a hope and nothing more. I recently filed a very detailed wrong doing complaint aginst Discover Financial and provided evidence, admissions from the company regarding their mistake which caused me financial harm, and in one interaction CFPB did nothing but cover for Discover. If you file a legitimate complaint with CFPB don't get your hopes up that anything will be come of it. CFPB will go thru the motions and in the end side with big finance. Not even a slap on the wrist to let big finance know that someone is looking at them. What a waste of Tax Payers money.
If you are reading this, you probably read my other reviews. This review is connected to those.
The consumer the 2017 CFPB chose not to protect is the United States.
How are regular consumers like you & me supposed to believe the CFPB will fight for us?
The CFPB was created after the last financial crisis to protect consumers & hold parties accountable that harm consumers.
In 2017 the CFPB became a enabler & protective force for parties that harm consumers. Add to that the CFPB doesn't answer to anyone.
I sent my report to the 2022 White House, who sent everything to the FTC.
The FTC filled a complaint against CFPB with the CFPB. I attached the response the CFPB sent me.
I didn't file the complaint, the FTC did.
Why is the agency telling me this?
In 2017 Wall Street was given a green light to destroy the economy & get away with it.
I'm pointing out that still green light to both the United States government & to you my internet family worldwide.
That green light worries me.
This so called " consumer " agency is basically a scam! They are supposed to help consumers with problems with banks. They contact the bank via email and inform them of your complaint. The bank sends this " consumer " agency their reply. This " consumer " agency accepts whatever they say and then close the case in the bank's favor. A complete waste of time.
