This is my daughter first year with connexus. She's in 10th grade. At first I was kind of scared because since my daughter would be working on her own. But than I saw how easy my daughter got everything and how quick all the teachers would answer her questions.and the teachers are great. If your child feels lonely, or have trouble on a homework. The teachers are quick to help. Plus is safe specially everything that's going around the world my child is safe at home and learning. And I'm able to check her grades and talk to the teachers if I have a problem. I do recommend this online classes.
1) Kindergarden kid- he was around charter since 3/ pre school and half of kindergarden. We adopted him and notice alot public school was not for King. Pain was all he experienced- love is what we wanted! Yes we told the ad/ teacher/ principal/ and even asked for a meeting with the other kids parents!
2) Our decision to look into home school- Florida Connection was suggested by a teacher- and I knew zero
3) I was hand held question why I think this is what King needed/ the representative cared! Listened/ and walked me thru the full process and again I knew zero!
4) King was accepted/ stress level went down, we were able to seek doctor care, our time no threats of jail, time for Dr care! We were able to breathe yes both of us. We sat and make a plan! To build an office for King. He was accepted- again we knew zero but at this point we were willing to try!
5) We meet his teacher by zoom, she has suggestion, for solving problems. She answers all our questions. Helps with the computer program, delightful. Cute, and loving. And yes we get stressed because nothing in life is essy- but Ms. Lee is calm again suggestion options!
6) The IT team is just plain AWESOME- WE call them our super hero.
Again we know zero but we are on our way to being # 1! Still trying, THE LAWS FAMILY FOR KING WILLIAMS-LAWS
Hi Felitia, We're so happy to hear that you have had such a positive experience enrolling your student, his teacher, and our tech team! Thank you for taking the time to share. We wish you and your family nothing but the best! ~Alexis
I was not eager to take my child out of the social situations of in person schooling, but we decided it was up to her. Though in the beginning it was rocky, this past year has shown that it was a good decision. She is on honor roll and has straight A's. And she's becoming Involved in things that are important to her. I Believe that this was the right choice for my child.
Hi Michelle, We know choosing which school to enroll your student in is a huge decision, and that there are many factors to consider. I'm so happy to hear that our school has been such a great fit for your child and that she has been able to focus on what is really important to her. Thank you for sharing! ~Alexis
My son would get bored in other schools because he did not need a lot of verbal instructions as he prefer to read and work independently. Sometimes I wake up at 5am to find him reading the lesson for the day. My son is in the Gifted and Talented Program which he was already in before he enrolled in Connections Academy so we saw no decline in grades or enthusiasm.
Hi Mildred, We're so happy that you have found a school that works for your independent learner! We hope he continues to excel here! ~Alexis
This was the Best decision we made as family for our son. His teachers are very professional and supportive. They communicate with him and us as Parents. They are really great at helping my son succeed this far in his Academic Experience.
Hi Veniece, Our teachers really are the backbone of our schools and it's great to hear that your student has succeeded because of them. Thank you so much for sharing! ~Alexis
This is our first year and it was kinda hard at first but we never give up and very glad we didn't because once we got over the bump in the road Inca is best thing we could have done for our soon to be 6th grader and the teacher are so caring it very nice to have teacher who care and even enjoy their job but if I had to change one thing that would be the learning coaches need answered keys to the work the students are doing I love thar about social studies and science it is a big help and help us learning coaches help the students succeed learn what they need to and help learn in the way that best for the students but overall I love this school and going in roll again next year looking forward to it.
Hi Jessica, Thank you for leaving your feedback. We know that switching to a virtual school can be a bit of a challenge, but we're glad to hear that you and your student overcame it and are doing well! We'll be sure to pass your answer key feedback to our administrators. We hope you and your student enjoy the rest of the school year! ~Alexis
This coming school year will be my student's 3rd year. We decided to continue as we can see the learning pace is good for our student as long as your student will cooperate and follow instructions the students can learn the high standard of education as for my opinion.
*The FLEXIBILITY of the schedule which helps us a lot being a working parents and assisting our student.
*The SAFETY from going to a physical school to be potentially victimized by bullies.
We were concerned about the social interaction of our students before but the school also provides opportunities to interact with fellow students virtually and it's not just school that we can get our students to have social activities but church and other social gatherings out from school.
So we're confident about this school since the teachers work so hard for the sake of the students. Thank you so much FCA teachers and Admin. We do appreciate you…!
Hi Delia, We love that you're able to supplement the socialization opportunities that FCA provides with your church. Thank you for sharing your review and we hope your student finishes out this school year strong! ~Alexis
My daughter has anxiety to new changes. While she was in school in person, she came home with migraine every day. For me was frustrating.
I decided to put her in this program and now she is feeling much better about her anxiety. I like the great communication between the teachers and parents. I like the way they have to help students when they are back in homework. Everything is good. I recommended.
Hi Lisa, We're sorry that your daughter struggles with anxiety, but are very glad that we have been able to help with that. We hope that she continues to thrive at our school! ~Alexis
I'm so happy to have found tecca I wish I knew of it earlier. My student and I are very happy with the school. They give just the right amount of work and always have support in place if needed. Staff is great and supportive. Easy to navigate website and great communication. If your thinking about enrolling I highly recommend
Hi Tricia, We're happy you found TECCA, too! We love that our school has been able to provide you and your student with the right amount of support and communication. Thank you for your review! ~Alexis
I have two kids currently enrolled in INCA and one who graduated from INCA attending Valparaiso University and excelling because of the foundation from INCA. My two are in the 11 and 12 th grades wit INCA. Both will continue on to a four year university because of the experience INCA delivers. I can't stress enough the freedom students and parents have and also the phenomenal teachers and staff. I highly recommend taking advantage of the quality of education that this school offers.
Hi Lillian, Hearing how our current and former students are excelling is amazing. We are ecstatic to be able to provide a high-quality education that sets our students up for success. Thank you for sharing! ~Alexis
When we started my daughter was struggling in public school and having ton of aniezty and failing so we decided to try the charter reach school ever since we put her in charter school she has been with less stress, more happier and the teachers are great always there to help or support your child this is her second year at charter school and we love how it fits around are schedule too
Hi Tabitha, Thanks for the 5-star rating! It's great to hear that our school has helped with your daughter's anxiety. We hope that she continues to be happy and thrives with our school! ~Alexis
I am so relieved to have found an excellent alternative to traditional brick and mortar public school. Connections Academy provides my children with talented teachers, a well rounded curriculum that is preparing my kids for college. I love the fact that they are able to learn at home in a safe environment free from the bullying and distractions that are so prevalent in a traditional brick and mortar public school.
Hi Sierra, We're thrilled to be able to offer your students a safe yet rewarding learning option! We love to hear that we are helping to set them on the right track to prepare for their futures! ~Alexis
My son is 5th grade special education and his education here is amazing! His reading jumped two grade levels in the span of 7 months. He doesn't miss any school for all of his doctors appointments being a kidney transplant kid. I also have a 9th grader. It took us while to get a good Homeroom teacher (3 minutes old ones). Her new one is amazing! She is way head of her friends in our brick and mortar school here.
Hi Sarah, Thank you for taking the time to leave this review! We love that we have been able to provide the flexibility your son needs. We're also happy to hear that your daughter's new homeroom teacher is so great! We wish you and your family continued success. ~Alexis
It's been a new beginning for my son, he has failed every class for the past year and a half in a actual school setting. Once we switched it to connections academy his grades changed, he is now passing everything with at least B's and C's. He feels more confident to ask for him if he doesn't understand anything it's like a new kid
Hi Tim, This is incredible to hear. We're thrilled that we have been able to provide your son with a learning option that works for him. We hope he continues to excel with us! ~Alexis
TNCA is awesome! They truly care about students and the curriculum is a lot more challenging than local public school. Always communicate with me regarding my students, I have 3 enrolled- 8th, 11th, 12th grades- Live lessons with interactive class, couldn't be happier with my kids education!
Hello! Thank you so much for taking the time to leave your positive feedback! We're thrilled to hear that TNCA has been able to provide all of your students with a challenging yet rewarding learning option. ~Alexis
I've been attending WACA since September, ITS GONE TO TRASH! THE TEACHERS DONT CARE, THEY JUST WANT THEIR MININUM WAGE! IT KEEPS REASIGNING LESSONS AFTER BEING COMPLETED AND WHEN THE SCHOOL THINKS THERE IS A ISSUE THEY BLAME THE STUDENTS! AND THEN I GET A F ON A PORTFOLIO BEACUSE I DIDNT INCLUDE SOMETHING THAT WAS NEVER ON THE LESSON LIKE WHAT THE HELL? NEVER SEND YOUR KIDS HERE 0/10
I enrolled my son in this school almost a year ago, I should have known and read the reviews before I actually went through with this. They pile work on top of work. My son is Special needs, his grade dropped from an B average to a low D. I'm very dissatisfied, and will be looking for other schools for my son. Also you will never have any type of time for yourself or family.
Hi Denise, I tried to reach out to you privately but did not hear back. We understand that our schools offer a more rigorous curriculum and typically there is more parental involvement than a traditional brick-and-mortar school, but we never want our students to feel overwhelmed. If you haven't already, I encourage you to reach out to his teachers for more support. If you would like us to have a staff member reach out, please send us an email at [email protected] using the email address that is associated with your account. ~Alexis
This school is incredibly stressful. The assignments are easy for me, but because of the constant projects forced on me every single week I am beginning to experience academic burn out. I no longer have any motivation to work on anything. They make you do 6-4 lessons everyday which is already hell enough, and a lot of the teachers take ages to grade assignments. Some of the staff are extremely rude aswell. I had to switch home room teachers due to the harassment they kept giving me. CA is more focused on your education than a students well being, and the "mindfulness live lessons" are incredibly useless. I can't wait to graduate so I dont ever have to go back to this god awful school. Until they minimize the portfolios in classes and quit making our lives so stressful with constant tests, then maybe so many people wouldn't be dropping out from this school.
Not to mention, but their grading system is absolutely garbage. They grade you based on the percentages of how well you do in tests, quick checks, portfolios, etc. Once you mess up on one of those by failing an assignment, a 2/5 quick check can easily bring you to an F. The assignments are also super poorly written, and the teachers do not tell you when there is an alternative assignment from the messege boards. I'm hoping by spring break I can recover from this awful depression this school gives me. Thanks.
Hello, I'm so sorry to hear that you are having such a stressful time at our school. We understand that our curriculum is more rigorous than a traditional brick-and-mortar school, but we never want our students to be overwhelmed. I do want to assure you that the mental health of our students is incredibly important to us. If you haven't already, please reach out to your school counselor for support, and do not hesitate to ask your teachers for help if you feel you need it. If you would like for us to have a staff member reach out to you, please have your caretaker email us at [email protected] using the email address used to set up your account. Thank you. ~Alexis
This school is horrible and unfortunately, I have been here since the 3rd grade (in 9th now) and I have always hated it. They give you way too much to do in one day, I remember they gave me 10 assignments in a single day which all took a decent amount of time to complete so I wound up finishing school at 7 PM giving me barely any time to do things that I want to do.
Hi John, I'm so sorry to hear that you are frustrated with the amount of schoolwork. We recognize that our schools can be more rigorous than a traditional brick-and-mortar school, but we never want our students to feel like they have more work than they can handle. If you are feeling overwhelmed with the workload, please be sure to reach out to your teachers. If you feel like you need additional support, have your caretaker email us at [email protected], using the email address that is linked to their account, so we can put you in contact with a staff member. ~Alexis
They are ruthless, and dont help out only complicate, harass you to do what they want. If you do not agree to meetings, they call the cops on you. They harassed me so much to have a 504 meeting but the principal didnt attend. Then why make the meeting when hes not available? Also if your busy with meetings, actually having a job, its against their policies, My husband and i dont have the ability to answer calls when they call bcuz of meetings or taking calls. I do not recommend this school to anyone. I only put my kids in this school because of Covid, but I regret ever putting them in this school. They dont have 1 on 1s if kids need help even though we asked that before enrolling them, and they lied to us just for the funding for their school..
Hi Gabby, Our goal is to provide a high-quality education to all of our families and I'm sorry that hasn't been your experience. We do recognize that our school includes more parental involvement than a traditional brick-and-mortar. I would love to have someone reach out, when you are available, to address your concerns. Can you please send us an email to [email protected] with the first and last name of your student as it appears in our system, so we can locate your account and have someone contact you directly? Thank you. ~Alexis
Answer: Work at your own pace is the biggest lie out there. Supplies are usually quick to arrive though.
Answer: That is a very good question Dee. We were drawn in with that promise as well. They use exampmes of child athletes and child actors (at least they did when we were going through their website looking for schooling options) as examples of how flexible their program is but we found it to be a very different experience.
Answer: Do not put your child in this program i hate it i switched to connexus i could get more time in the gym and work out i used to spend five hours in the gym in normal school but now im only limited to one hour a day because i have so much work.the teachers never respond and its horrible they dont help me and when im at gym they call then i cant i pick up so they call my parents who are at work and will get in trouble if on there phones. I hate tis school and everyone in it and your kids will to so DO NOT DO IT! 1111
Answer: Attendance is more important to the school keeping it's Charter, than making sure a student is truly on track academically. The School has no communication skills, which is why it probably attracts lazy teachers.
Answer: I find that people take the time to vent about bad experiences rather than take the time to write reviews for good experiences. If things are working, why scour the internet for reviews. Every kiddo/parent will have a different experience with Connections Academy. Like any school program, it's not going to be right for everyone, not everyone will like a teacher, or administration or class... It's a rigorous school, not a homeschool program with lots of flexibility and curriculum that can be changed. It's working for my 7th grader, but it is hard and we wouldn't be enrolled if he didn't have me to sit by him 80% of the time. Otherwise he's getting an excellent education in Oregon and we love the teachers.
Answer: Yes, you can do you your at any time. I start at 5:00am and finish at 11:00am.
Answer: Maybe once a month. The student might get a phone call from his or her homeroom teacher on a monthly basis. Other than that, unless you or the student contact the teacher individually, then the interaction is done as a whole in the Live Lesson rooms. And so much outside stuff goes on during Live Lessons, the students do not get a lot out of them.
Answer: Hi Tina, Teachers schedule LiveLesson sessions (usually one per subject per day), and other work is done independently. Teachers are available outside of the virtual classroom for more support if needed. Outside of the LiveLesson sessions, work is done independently, and students can typically complete their schoolwork any time of the day, any day of the week. ~Alexis
Answer: Hi Malorie, Teachers schedule LiveLesson sessions (usually one per subject per week), and other work is done independently. Teachers are available outside of the virtual classroom for more support if needed. In general, there is no set time to log in outside of the LiveLesson sessions, so students can typically work any time of the day, any day of the week. For information specific to the school(s) in your state, please email us at [email protected]. Thanks! ~Alexis
Answer: Hi Monique, Many students with special needs thrive in online school. Can you please email us at [email protected] so we can connect you with the Special Education team in your state and also provide you with additional eligibility information about the school(s) in your state? Thank you! ~Alexis

Hi Angela. This is so good to see! We love hearing that your daughter is thriving in our school. Thank you for sharing your experience. ~Kim
