Customer service contacted me based on the 1st review I did and I was very pleased to have such an understanding rep (Jennifer) + the fact she said I could return the computer and be sent a new one. It was defective to the extent the batteries in the mouse didn't work but I eventually fixed that and everything, except the monitor, worked. 8 hours in 3 days talking with 3 HP cust svc reps and they all said the CPU had motherboard problems. Many hours of my time on the Internet led me to believe the real problem was the monitor was not compatible with the CPU. Discussion with a Best Buy rep as to buying a cable for $15-$40 to make it compatible is the remedy so why return it to you? Plus, since the monitor is 9 years old, I'm buying a Sceptre 22" for $89 at Walmart instead of a cable. Would buy it thru you but you don't sell them! So, I'm a happy camper, think your company is quality (researched you B/4 ordering and was impressed with the accolades) and may order a tv thru you guys. Thanks again for caring enough to contact me and Jennifer sure beats those New Delhi, India, based HP reps. They're gonna get an earfull from me. 8 hours with them, 3 guys not once mentioning maybe it's the monitor causing the problem, and it took a retired 75-year old CPA who has no computer savvy to come up with what the problem was? Gimme a break! My expertise with computers is to be an expert using Excel with accounting programs and pulling up ESPN for sports updates! Why couldn't HP experts raise an eyebrow about incompatibility when I told them all how old the monitor was?. After all the talk with them and then for me to find out what the problem was? YIKES! So thanks for your concern. You truly do care about your customers else I would have heard nothing. And if HP can accept returns from Walmart - they sure oughta accept them from Colamco!
