ClassPass has garnered significant criticism for its customer service and billing practices, with many users expressing frustration over misleading promotions, billing errors, and a lack of responsive support. Customers frequently report issues with inaccurate availability information, poor communication, and difficulties in resolving disputes. While some users appreciate the flexibility of accessing various fitness classes, the overall sentiment leans negative, highlighting a perception of the company as untrustworthy and profit-driven. The recurring themes of dissatisfaction suggest a pressing need for ClassPass to improve its customer service and clarify its policies to enhance user experience.

I was given a 5 class, $60 "gift" card to classpass. First, I was unable to set up my account so was on with chat ( as there is no phone#) for 30 min. Finally, I was given a link to set up my account. Imagine my surprise when it allowed me to enter my gift code but also asked for a cc#. Why do you need a cc# when my "gift" has already been paid for. Many customers report not being able to get refunds when their card was incorrectly charged. Im sure this procedure is also illegal in my state. I have asked that the original purchaser be given a refund of her $60 as I have no intention of using this service. Good luck. Thank you.
Typical Bait and Switch-you don't get what you bargained for! They altered the material terms of the membership agreements unilaterally- They should be sued!
They just raised the price of Classpass in SF to $175 a month! This is crazy considering there are very low costs in terms of infrastructure for their business. I can go to one of the nicest gyms out there for that monthly price. The one time I had a problem (which was their fault for listing 2 different studio locations for a class), they never even apologized and told me it was essentially my fault. And that if I did it again, they would charge me. Seriously?
It's really unfortunate because I like being able to go to different studios, but I can't justify giving them this kind of money for horrible service. It just seems greedy. Very disappointing. I gave them this feedback and they just said, "we'll note it. I'm happy to help if you have any specific questions." Still no apology for messing up and causing me to go to the wrong location and not be able to even take the class.
I'm really hoping that there is some serious competition out there for them soon. Please? Someone else build a similar app?
Overall the Classpass can be a great deal if you enjoy doing fitness classes. In the Bay Area you can get unlimited classes for a month for $120. Some of the classes on class pass cost over $30 per class, so great deal. There is a big BUT though. You can only take up to 3 classes per month at each site. Also there sites can limit the classes that are offered on Classpass and the number of Classpass members can attend each class.
I joined to try do classes with a friend, but as soon as one of us would sign up, the class would disappear for the other person. The irony is that the cover photo is three friends working out together, however that would NEVER happen as most classes cap as two Classpass people.
I'm coming from the merchant end of things- they change rules don't tell u, don't respond to calls, have unprofessional non trained managers with no management experience. I won't be using them any further as I don't do business that way. Someone else will come along soon doing the same business --but better - and I anxiously await your arrival :)
Not only can you never call in and get a response... You are left
With either emailing or chatting. Not a huge deal EXCEPT when they tell you, your membership will cost one price AND THEN they charge you completely different and then REFUSE to make the adjustment. Not only that, typically all classes (with the later times) are filled. And now they have their system where you can only book 4 classes at a time but that doesn't leave room to book classes 1 week ahead (if you take 5-6 classes per week).
Lastly, customer service is terrible. You can never get a hold of a manager to work out their mistakes and because hey hide behind a computer screen it makes it easy for them to ignore the important questions. I had to call 5 times, write 5 emails, and send a chat before someone addressed my questions.
Before I signed up, I mentioned I had more then one home address, they gave me permission to use my address in another state (even my billing showed for that state). They then ended up charging me (without my permission) for a higher price.
I understand you can't please everyone and I was happy with them until they became unavailable and charged me for an amount I never consented for. Now I have to fight my bank and make sure this issue doesn't happen again. All and all I'd say save your money unless you have an open schedule and don't mind being ripped off.
I'm happy to update this review. Thankfully, Classpass has turned out to be just what the fitness omnivore was hoping for when Fitmob first came on the scene. The site runs as a website should, navigation is fine and the number of participating studios has expanded so that few classes are filled. Gym time, yes that would be time at a gym to use their equipment, is severely reduced, but the gains in classes outweighs it for those who want group class access to a variety of strength, yoga, Pilates, martial arts and barre studios. Enjoy!
Answer: I was having a good experience until I tried to change billing date and things got complicated. I was still billed on date I was trying to change was advised I will need to cancel then reactivate account. Even though I was charged it is showing I don't have any credits. I tried chatting and getting this figured out but I am being told I don't have credits even thought I just paid. I tried cancelling several times and its always a chat nightmare,
Answer: Great concept... terrible execution and company. Someone please hurry and make a better company using this concept because the idea was actually quite good but I refuse to give them anymore of my money.
Answer: Oh, it's easy to get a hold of Customer Service but THEY WILL NOT HELP You if you need a refund for an erroneous charge or a mistake ClassPass has made. They'll simply tell you over and over they can't issue any refunds no matter what even if you haven't used a single credit and no physical property has been exchanged.
The best fitness studios, classes, and experiences are on ClassPass. Work out where you want, when you want, and how you want, all with one membership.
