Chewy's reputation is marked by a strong dedication to customer service, with many customers praising the company's compassionate response during difficult times, such as pet loss. Positive sentiments frequently highlight the quality of products and the ease of the auto-ship option. However, several reviews express frustration over order cancellations, misleading promotions, and delivery delays, indicating inconsistencies in service reliability. While many customers remain loyal due to positive experiences, the recurring issues with customer support and transparency suggest areas for improvement to enhance overall satisfaction and trust.

Chewy.comOh my goodness, I can't say enough! Been an auto customer now for several months without the first problem or issue, even received a no questions ask refund for a toy! Along with an apology in email and coupon for another purchase! The customer service is top notch! If you have a pet they deserve free auto ship food and toys, meds or anything from Chewy. Com! Delivered to my door, free shipping! I love Chewy. Com and so do my puppies!
I had ordered food for my dog and did not realize that a pre-order was set to deliver a couple of weeks later. Totally my fault. I had no problem using the food but I do not use the Freeze dried Pure Formance pre-mix all the time. I called to ask if I could send it back and get a refund. Instead the Chewy representative said that she would refund the money and I could donate the food to a shelter in need. I was blown away! Chewy proved to me that it's not just about making a profit. They want to give back to the animals that hope to be pets one day too. Instead of having customers mail back food, they rather us donate it to any shelter we would like.
I am proud to say that I am a Chewy customer and will always be a Chewy customer as long as I have a pet in my home to love.
My mother-in-law ordered a new car seat from Chewy.com. Unfortunately, just a day or two later, her yorkie, Cooper, was diagnosed with acute renal failure. The new car seat arrived one day prior to his death. A few days after he passed, my mother-in-law called Chewy to see how she could return it. They asked her name and address and then asked what the reason was for her return. When she told them her beloved dog had passed, they immediately told her it would be refunded and not to worry about returning the car seat, but to give it to a friend or donate it to a dog shelter in Cooper's name. As if that wasn't amazing enough, a few days later the most beautiful bouquet of roses showed up at my mother-in-laws house from Chewy! This sort of consideration is just not found anymore. My wife and I are so impressed that, although we have ordered a few things from Chewy now and again, we are now exclusive, lifelong Chewy customers. Thank you, Chewy!
I've ordered from Chewy now a couple of times. Website is easy to navigate. Ordering was easy. Everything arrived on time with free shipping! Then, the icing on the cake... customer service sends me an email to see if everything is ok! I call that GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE! I will continue to order from Chewy! Thank you Chewy!
A couple of my items were damaged in route to my house. I contacted Chewy via email and they sent me out the replacements the next day. Thank you Chewy! I won't shop anywhere else for my pets needs.
Had service with Chewy for quite a while now, and things were good until recently. Prompt delivery, good customer service, replaced damaged products. But all of a sudden, shipments are late. I live in Montana and my stuff has always shipped from Texas within a week. Now they claim the Texas warehouse is out and they are shipping from Ohio. Last shipment was just a day late, not a big deal. But this one is taking a full extra week. Now I get that it's Christmas season and things are crazy and congested, but they shipped from Ohio to Kentucky to Minnesota to Montana. Now what kind of sense does that make? I cancelled my autoships and they don't even care that they lost another customer.
This company has amazing customer service. Far superior to any other company I have ever dealt with. They are prompt at correcting problems with shipped products. The prices are very competitive. Shipping is quick. But what I want to say today is about what happens when your pet dies. Chewy is supportive and caring. You are part of their family. When my dog passed away I asked about returning unopened items I had left. They gave me prompt credit on every inventoried item and then said "don't return - just donate the items". They asked me to send pictures and I sent one of my cat and the dog who passed. They later sent me beautiful flowers as condolence. Then today I opened my mail and they have sent me another hand written card and enclosed two original paintings on canvas ready to display. One picture of each of my pets. I cried and was so touched by their sympathy and connection to me and my pet family. Amazing group of people.
I've had to call customer service several times on this company. At first I was just okay with them and rated them 3 out of 5, and continued using them as there is to me, a lack of good pet supply ordering sites. Now I will have to go to other options. I had talked to customer service 2 other times about making sure my autoship comes out on the 15th or after when my check is, but they put it through on the 14th. Luckily my check hit that day and I didn't get overdraft charges, but I can't keep doing this. It is too big a risk. Add that to the basics - broken candles, unshipped orders and other minor complaints and be aware this service goes from so-so to mediocre. They cannot guarantee their autoship dates and that can be a big problem for your budget. They could get a lot better and I feel if they want to keep a big share of the pet owner market, they should work on reliability, customer service, and their IT department.
Amazing so good love it. Very very good. Really enjoy.the only and only best one in the world.the great and the only great one.
Used to be a fan of this business but not anymore. Ever since they sold the business to petsmart their customer service went down straight to crapper, many of the products are constantly go out of stock. And chewy also no longer have high quality dog food brands like orijen and acana. A lot of high quality dog treats/food has been disappeared from their website. Why order fro m chewy when you can just walk to walmart and buy low grade commercial dog foods?
I have always order from Chewy and have gotten great service, but this time it was really bad. I always got information viva email this time not. I called they said it would be there the next day by 8pm, never show, I called again they apologize but I would have to wait till Tuesday Laser shipping does not deliver on Sunday nor Monday. So I had to go to Petco to buy what I needed. This will never happen to me again I will go to the regular Pet Store.
I just love this company and especially their customer service. From the top right on down the culture, they have instilled has been to treat the customer like gold. They just don't say it they eat, sleep and drink it in.
From prices to stock to ease of use it is a pleasure to purchase from them. The only complaint I have is their deal with FedEx as their only delivery service. When FedEx gets it right amazing, but FedEx never get's it right. Unfortunately, I would have done more business with Chewy if they would offer an alternative.
FedEx lost my last shipment and never even bothered to call me back or lift a finger to help. I am still waiting for them to contact me and it has been over a month. When Chewy found out, they immediately re-sent out my entire order gratis even though I had not asked them to. Although they continue to use FedEx and should take one star off this review, I just can't do it as their track record has been phenomenal.
WE LOVE CHEWY AND YOU SHOULD TOO!
I called Chewy yesterday to see if i could possibly return prescription food I had ordered for my dog. I had received my latest shipment on Thursday afternoon, and Thursday evening my dog passed away. Ariel answered my call, expressed her sympathy for my loss, was extremely kind and helpful, credited my account for the purchase and gave the suggestion of donating the food to a shelter. I was already so touched at the thoughtfulness of your customer service, when a beautiful bouquet of flowers was just delivered to my home. Thank you to Chewy, and to Ariel especially for the kind words and the much needed smile during this emotional time for our family. While we are not yet ready o get a new pet, when we do we will certainly use Chewy for all of our pet needs.
Well, Chewy used to be good, but Petsmart bought Chewy in 2017; quality has gone down, with shipping costs up. This is NOT the business it was. Too bad Petsmart continues making the same mistakes that took the company from #1 to the untold mess Petsmart (Huh! And now, likely Chewy!) is today. Check your packages, shipping costs, and merchandise-quality. I don't think anyone wants bugs in their shipment!
I ordered my little girl her usual order of 6 bags of diapers, and unfortunately, she passed away really early the morning of the day they were supposed to be delivered. I reached out to Chewy.com to see if I could send the unopened package back and get a refund because of what happened. Not only did they refund me right away but they told me to donate the items to a shelter/rescue of my choice. Not only did that but they sent me multiple cards and two bouquets of beautiful flowers. I know it doesn't replace my baby girl but their thoughtfulness and kindness have really helped during this difficult time. I will forever buy things from them and would hand down recommend them to anyone!
I have to mention other things besides that though too. I have always had fast and quick service. I usually got my items a day or two after purchasing them and never had a problem with that either.
Can't say a bad word about the service. Since I've started buying food for my furson online exclusively about two years ago I've never had a bad experience. Fast and easy delivery, no problems with the products whatsoever.
I love getting my very heavy dog food delivered right to my door. The delivery is super fast and timely! I save on gas to my car too!
I have actually used Chewy.com for several years, and in all that time They have constantly worked with the customer like no company I have ever worked with. Example: My Standard Poodle had problems with a freeze-dried food I bought through them. No questions asked, they refunded my money. Then I got a note from the person I spoke with asking how my dog was doing.
Recently, my 14 yr old standard poodle got sprayed by a skunk. The flea and tick collar, I just bought, is saturated with the skunk oils. Nothing I did neutralized the smell. 1 call to Chewy and the young lady put a new one in the mail for me, without a charge. Not only do they have good prices but they have exceptional customer care. Thanks Chewy
I have been a customer of chewy's for about 7 months. In that time frame they have gone above and beyond to keep us happy customers with happy fur babies. When part of order was shipped separately and arrived later they credited our account back on a number of occasions. Great products, great prices, great customer service and great HEART! By that I mean when I was online with customer service last week and happened to mention that I was sorry if I was coming across as short but it had been a long week. With the death of my honey's dad. Really it had been a long 11 months with the death of three of our parents in that time. The customer service rep name was Kaile and expressed sympathy and stated that chewy's is always there for us thru life's good and bad. It touched my heart and meant a lot. Often people say the right words in life but yesterday I got a delivery of a beautiful arrangement of flowers, and a sympathy card. Chewy's is not only a company of words but of constant action to back them up. I am still just AMAZED and beyond lifting my spirit during a rough period of life. Love Chewy's and recommend highly on ALL levels!
So, I feel like I'm typically only a person who writes reviews on companies for bad service - wanting to warn others and whatnot. BUT I recently had some great service from Chewy and I really wanted to praise them somewhere. Outside of the site itself really offering to deliver everything I need for my pets (I exclusively order my dog food, cat food, and kitty litter from them), they recently offered me some amazing customer service. My fiance ordered a pet carrier from them for our puppy and ended up buying one for the size of a great dane. After making fun of him for like an hour I called to see if we could do a return/exchange and explained theres nothing wrong with the product besides, just we didn't need a dog carrier that could alternate as a guest bedroom. Not only were they completely happy to send us a (much) smaller size, but they told us to keep the one they had already sent us and told us to donate it to an animal shelter. We didn't have to pay for the smaller one they sent, for shipping, or anything else AND we got to help out the shelter we rescued our dog from. That was truly awesome, thanks so much Chewy!
Answer: No trouble at all. They have the best customer service/replacement/refund practices I've ever encountered. By all means, contact them again if you're having an issue.
Answer: If you are having trouble returning an item, call Customer Service and ask them to assist you. My understanding for returns is any item can be returned, even if it has been used you may return it within 1 year of original purchase. Their Custom Service is available 24 hours, 7 days a week. So, if you work odd hours you don't to wait until Customer Service is available.
Answer: Because they make it a point to lie and deceive their customers... I will NEVER use them again!
Answer: Ever thought of reading the FAQ posted on EVERY SINGLE COMPANIES WEBSITE to answer your own questions? Companies post these FAQ's for a reason. Too bad people are too lazy to read them. Then you scream at the reps you speak to due to your own stupidity levels in NOT READING A COMPANIES POLICIES. FYI it is a CONSUMERS RESPONSIBILITY to read those policies as the company already knows their own policies. FYI shipping from the USA to Canada cost customs fees and taxes which are NOT refundable and if you chose to return an item you will will incur these fees again and YOU are responsible for paying for them not the company you do business with. International shipping also requires proper documentation to get packages through customs. Not every USA company has the man power to deal with this enormous amount of work nor do they wish to deal with the headaches involved with shipping outside of the USA. How so many of you Canadians do not know this information is mind boggling.
Answer: Because they have free shipping over $49. It is FREE OVER $49.
