My cat requires Royal Canin Veterinary Diet Hydrolyzed Protein HP Dry Cat Food, and that food requires a prescription from a veterinarian. For about 6 months or so I ordered this food from Chewy, sending them a copy of the prescription. The last time I tried to order, starting in December 2019, they told me that the prescription had expired, they would call the vet and renew it. No contact for two weeks. I call back, they say the vet does not respond to their requests. I call the vet, they say they have sent the prescription renewal back to Chewy, ON THE FORM THAT CHEWY FAXED TO THEM. Still no shipment. I get a copy of the form with the vet signature and call Chewy, telling them that the form is so faded out its hard to read. No problem Chewy says, send it to us. I fax and email them 3 copies of the form. I get an email response that the order is filled. Then and email response that the order is canceled due to no prescription. Then another email that the order is filled, then another email that the order is canceled, because they cannot read the form THAT THEY ORIGINALLY SENT TO THE VET. I was also told by supervisor Morgan that it would take another 3 hours to check any further emails and faxes because they had received "100,000" email and faxes on the morning of Thursday, January 2.
I canceled my order and made sure that my email, credit card info, phone number, etc, was deleted from Chewy's customer list. Upshot: Don't do business with Chewy unless you like to play games.
They are awesome, I accidentally had calming pills ship in my autoship. I emailed them to ask if they could remove the pills from my order but they work so fast that it had already shipped. They emailed me back telling me they credited me the WHOLE order, even the dog food I NEEDED. They said to just donate the things we don't need to our local shelter. So amazing!
When a large outfit like Chewy is continually out of stock of a very common item like Neo Poly Dex, in BOTH ointment and suspension form, you gotta wonder what's going on. I had a similar experience with methamizole. So, IMO, it's more than chance factors.
When you call the staff and they don't even know what the heck is up, then something must be up.
Perhaps this may have been caused by the recent acquisition by Petsmart? I don't know, but the bottom line is:
Come and get your food and litter, but don't depend on Chewy for your pharmacy needs.
Well I am impressed. First time ordering and couldn't find the delivery and discovered they have 24 hour customer service: phone, chat and email. I used chat. Was connected instantly. My question was answered within seconds. Turns out it was my mistake and I'm a moron. Good to know! Thanks Chewy. Nice to have a frustration free experience with a competent company focused on customer service. So impressed.
Beware! Placing orders with Chewy can cause pending holds on your funds in excess of your purchase. I called and it was explained to me that Chewy puts a hold on the original amount and other holds are placed by vendors of some products prior to shipping. This is unacceptable! I authorized $111.45 and now have pending holds on my funds in excess of $200! This is causing a hardship for me until the multiple holds are removed and funds are replaced. I've purchased multiple items from Chewy for years and have never had this happen. I am refusing this order and will NEVER do business with Chewy again!
I got some cat food from chewy.com, but my cat could not tolerate the food so I called Chewy and asked if I could return them, they told me they would give me a refund and didn't need to return the food. 48 cans of expensive cat food and they said I could donate them!
Not only they have the best prices, their customer service is great too.

I love this place. Fast, free shipping and always had my brands in stock. The auto reorder & delivery was so handy, I didn't have to think about it. And no carrying those heavy bags!
But most telling, my beautiful dog died right after I received an $80 order. I went online to cancel the auto order/delivery, and they expressed grief, and refunded my entire bill! Told me to donate the food to local animal rescue.

When OnTrac lost my shipment, Chewy sent me a free replacement order, plus gave me a discount for the trouble. I think that's pretty darn good.
We decided to order from Chewy because we had a coupon, but now I wish we had bought from a local store. They promise 1-2 day shipping, and while I figured with the holidays that wouldn't be possible, I didn't realize how bad their shipping really was. I ordered last Friday, before 9am, and on their wetbsite, Chewy said the packages had been shipped. The first one didn't leave Arizona for 3 days, and now, 7 days later, when it was supposed to arrive, I get an email saying it will be delayed AGAIN. So it went from 4 day shipping to 8. The other package wasn't received by Fed-Ex until the next day after it was supposedly shipped, after I sent an email to check on it. That one arrived after 5 days. I wouldn't be so upset, but we had ordered gifts for people, and we are seeing them tonight, so now we have to go spend more money. All customer service had to say was higher than normal shipping volume and weather, and sent me a return label, after informing me they would start the return process after it got back to the facility it left from. So another 8 days in transit and then a week for the refund. We are just keeping the treats, but I don't recommend anyone deal with them.
I'm giving it 2 stars because the csr was so nice and understanding. I decided on December 15 to place an order. I get a notice that the items shipped on the 15th arrival on the 17th. I find out that is an automatic notice not actual. The real ship date was on the 16th but here I am, out of dog food on the 19th and no order. Sorry Chewy. I'm going to go out and buy my dogs food and cancel your order today. My advise is to just go out and buy your pets food. Don't take a chance like I did. I also find it peculiar that they don't have an email to contact them. As you can see I the picture not enough food left. Thanks chewy for caring about my pets needs.
My experience has been very positive. Chewy usually has good, sometimes great deals with free shipping for orders over 49.00. I have read the other reviews complaining about slow shipping. My experience has been to the contrary. My experience has been that they have the fastest shipping I have ever seen. I have ordered many times from Chewy and shipping has been consistently very fast. I have also found customer service to be very good. NOTE prices can vary when you auto ship. In other words if you order an item on sale and you choose auto ship, the item may not be on sale the next time it ships. I just stock up when the item is on sale. NOTE if you do choose auto ship you can modify the timing at any time so if supplies are running low or lasting longer than anticipated you can get the shipment moved up or delayed. NOTE some deals can be used only once so make sure the discount etc. is reflected in your actual order even though it still appears in the item listing.
I have ordered twice. Both times well past their promised date. I am currently on day 5 without product for my second and LAST order. I will go back to buying from local stores.
I have been receiving auto shipments for months with no issue and this month I've been left with no food for my dogs. The auto shipment is two days late. I think the food is somewhere on a truck in the same area I live in and still have no guarantee I'll get the food tomorrow. I've placed two calls in two days and both times the rep was unconcerned and unwilling to assist me other than to tell me there's no way they can guarantee when I'll receive my shipment. I've already cancelled my auto shipment and removed my payment method and will be using Amazon from now on.
I have ordered from this company twice and both times they have failed to ensure the order was delivered by the date originally promised. Neither time was the delay caused by inclement weather or issues with the freight company, Chewy simply failed to do what they needed to do to get the order to me on time. I have carefully researched and their prices are NOT lower than PetSmart/PetCo, so the only reason to order is convenience but if they can't get orders shipped on time than they are truly offering nothing at all.
Permanent rescheduling of delivery dates without notice. For a long time they could not agree with the clinic permission to sell diet food for a cat. It turned out that they sent the request to the wrong clinic. If possible, avoid this store. I ordered the 1st, until today there is still no delivery, although my cat after the clinic needs specialized feed.
I have been waiting for days to have my cat's food delivered and every time I call they say it would be within the next couple of hours! According to the tracking it should have been here two days ago!

I placed a order on 11/30/2019 in which it showed all items were in stock and here it is 5 days later and it still hasn't shipped! Yet, they claim 1-2 Day Shipping. They're giving me a story saying it due to bad weather. Oh, I hadn't heard that Florida is having a Blizzard. Offering me a $15 discount on my next order placed by 3/31/2020. Well, I won't need to place another order by that date!. Screw Chewy and I'm cancelling my order and taking my business where it is appreciated.
I am so pissed at Chewy.com for lying about when our dog food will be delivered. The dog food was to be delivered days ago and we call everyday when it is not delivered as advised daily and they tell us it is 10 miles away in the next city, and has been for 3-4 days now, and it will be at least another 2-3 days but he is not sure exactly when. This is bs and is not the first time we have had to deal with delays in getting the dog food delivered. I will never purchased from this company again. Anyone have any other online companies they use that are honest?

Answer: No trouble at all. They have the best customer service/replacement/refund practices I've ever encountered. By all means, contact them again if you're having an issue.
Answer: If you are having trouble returning an item, call Customer Service and ask them to assist you. My understanding for returns is any item can be returned, even if it has been used you may return it within 1 year of original purchase. Their Custom Service is available 24 hours, 7 days a week. So, if you work odd hours you don't to wait until Customer Service is available.

Answer: Ever thought of reading the FAQ posted on EVERY SINGLE COMPANIES WEBSITE to answer your own questions? Companies post these FAQ's for a reason. Too bad people are too lazy to read them. Then you scream at the reps you speak to due to your own stupidity levels in NOT READING A COMPANIES POLICIES. FYI it is a CONSUMERS RESPONSIBILITY to read those policies as the company already knows their own policies. FYI shipping from the USA to Canada cost customs fees and taxes which are NOT refundable and if you chose to return an item you will will incur these fees again and YOU are responsible for paying for them not the company you do business with. International shipping also requires proper documentation to get packages through customs. Not every USA company has the man power to deal with this enormous amount of work nor do they wish to deal with the headaches involved with shipping outside of the USA. How so many of you Canadians do not know this information is mind boggling.
