Our 6 year old son practiced and practiced for Chess Nationals that was to be held online because of Covid. ChessKids had to stop the tournament after only 2 games because they couldn't handle the pairings. Major disappointment. As an "apology" they offered a free one day fast chess tournament later in the weekend. We went to log on and there was no "JOIN" button when it came time for him to play. Again, major disappointment. They sent ANOTHER apology and set up a tournament weeks later. Again, our son practices and practices. He sits in front of the computer. We log in. AGAIN NO JOIN BUTTON. We sent MULTIPLE emails and "chats" asking for help. No response. No one there. No interest. Shame on them. Shame on them.

Horrible

My nine-year old son plays on chesskids.com for the past few months. He seems very frustrated with the glitches of the website, so I facilitated him to voice this review. This is how he describes it: "I have been through errors multiple times during games which made me feel there are unfair corrections made by the site. There is not as much free educational content and events for nonmembers compared to other chess websites such as lichess.com and chess.com. I suggest chess.com over chesskids.com for my age group as it offers puzzle rushes, different style games such as Crazyhouse and 3 Check in addition to game saving and analysis features in the free mode. Moreover the bots in Chesskids.com play extremely weak if you are a nonmember whereas chess.com has excellent bots. Overall, I suggest Chess.com over chesskids.com to have less frustration and more chess."
