Cheating and hacking
February 25, 2016

chess.com cheats and evan hacks and supports cheaters and hackers. chess.com will withdraws funds from your accounts with out your authority and knowing about it. I was blocking persons when i know cheating was involved but chess.con has removed the blocker so i couldnt block them, when i quite last night 8-5-21 my score was 2142 this morning when i got up my score was 2138 this means that chess.com took 4 points off my score this proves that chess.com does support cheaters and hackers chess.com has done this meany of times the hacker is still getting into my computers trying too get card info so he came stell money out of my account. I think this guy has a mental problem and is obsessed with me he just cant let go its like a itch he cant scratch. chess.com has been in court about these things im sure they have fun with that there are other reviews that talk about all of these things. There is at least one were a guy was kicked out for cheating he claims he didnt do it. My guess is that a cheater was cought red handed but chess.com didnt want to get ride of him so they blamed it on this guy and kick him out and kept the real cheater. This would not surprise me at all. The guy they blame it on was probably some they wated too get rid of anyway chess.com is all about money and dont really care about the players these people are just pawns that chess.com takes advantage of
If you give chess.com your card info watch your account like a hawk

this is my review rod kalman

Don't waste money on premium membership. Customer service is non-existant. I suspect cheating is going on, but cannot prove it.

The main drawback of this site is the complete lack of ability to handle lag. The result is that games are regularly lost simply because of a slow connection. Individuals on the site will continue clearly drawn or lost games in the hope that lag will affect their opponent. The fact that the site has not managed to program a time stamp on moves is a testament to the fact that they simply do not care about chess.

I had a premium membership for nearly two years. It was closed with no notice and no explanation. I received no response after emailing the company per their instructions. So I went the BBB site which showed similar unresolved issues. BBB grades chess.com with an F. http://ow.ly/TUtUh I concur with the grade.

I am a grandmaster and used an anonymous account. Several of my chess associates have complained about unfair treatment by chess.com by abruptly closing their accounts with the accusation of unfair play. Their protests were met with undocumented accusations, and sometimes with immature character attacks. These associates have claimed that chess.com long tolerates much unfair play by many participants but overreacts to complaints of some preferred players when they lose on the site. Chess.com has been sued in US district court over such a pattern. Rather than disclose any documentation of chess.com's allegations of unfair play it chose to settle out of court.

I have witnessed chess.com arbitrarily changing elo ratings of many, many players to give the appearance that preferred titled players have the highest ratings.

The timing of the live server is flawed and not conducive for competitive bullet/blitz games. Repeated complaints have not adequately alleviated this problem.

In my opinion chess.com is engaging in a degree of fraud. Whether it rises to levels sufficient for conviction of civil or even criminal violations, I do not know.

However I can say that serious chess players should avoid the site and take their money elsewhere.

Awful costumer service, and the interface is riddled bugs and dead ends. But who just wants to kick back and have a few fun games of Chess... yeah well, then there are better alternatives for that as well.
Overall a very questionable site.

They took my money for a one year premium membership and then closed my account after two months with no refund. They provided no reason for closing the account. They have not responded to multiple attempts to contact them about the matter.

I would not buy memberships ever again from chess.com in view of these unfair business practices.

The live interface is very poor. Connection issues are regular, which are completely unrelated to internet. There is no means to abort or pause games due to poor connection either causing unwarranted losses to accumulate.

Chess.com has an agreement with several of their "top"-members to support them by any means. Chess.com gives away your personal and of course payment details... yes... to those people who are "committed" to expose cheats. They do not even stop their support when a "top" member illegally downloads copyright photos, then distributes them in chess.com and his own blogs. THEN he accuses his victims of distributing fake photos which he actually placed there. A court case against this "top" member and chess.com has been filed.

User experience:
April 29, 2014

User experience:
- Many times, the lag is the cause of you are losing games, specially in rapid games.
- Live support is very bad, the do not know how to respond to your questions. Additionally, if you are a free member, you can make only one question every 60 seconds.
- Transmission of tournaments is poorly made by people that do anything except relay the games.
- Very abusive admins that will kick and ban people for something as small as disagreeing with them. The reviewer called James H. was right.

Ads on the site:
- If you buy a membership other than diamond, you get ads anyway.
- The ads they show are about malware. Do not click on them.
- The ads may crash your browser.
- I blocked the ads and the site showed me static ads telling me to unblock the original ads!

Used to be a great site. Then they allowed the MAC Keeper ad. This slows your MAC computer to a crawl and prevents any enjoyment of the online fast games. So you just abort or resign when this ad comes on. Disturbs your enjoyment and your games and certainly prevents your true ranking to be shown.

The things some people will do for money.

There are so many flaws with this site, for one, miss clicks, I know all online chess is like this, but they should at least give you a warning saying "Are you sure you want to move there", I have lost so many games thanks to it, another thing, is I play 3 minute chess, and even if your connection is superb, when there is 20 seconds left and I'm one move away from checkmate, it says my connection has been lost, and I lose the game. Not only that, if you play enough games, you will find that you play black about 75% of the time. And if that wasn't enough, they try to make you pay a stupid amount of £66 a year for some extra perks, without these you can only play the games, which is a huge scam as the tutors probably cheat aswell.

The site is crooked and they, the administrators, are the cheats. They harass you to try an get you to buy their product; they build you up with wins then whack you with losses so you might think you would improve from purchasing their advanced memberships: Bait and switch. What you do not understand chess.com is that THERE IS NO HELP FOR ME!
