CheapOair Reviews Summary

The company has established a strong reputation for its user-friendly platform and competitive pricing, with many customers praising the efficiency of the booking process and the helpfulness of customer service representatives. However, some concerns have been raised regarding communication issues, particularly related to flight changes and refunds, leading to frustration among users. Will NEVER EVER use this site again! They are Rip off Artists! I booked a trip to Las Vegas for my Husband and I on their site. I requested the days of Feb 6th-11th as those were the days that we were meeting up with Family. I confirmed the dates before purchasing, and got an email back saying that our flight was to leave on the 5th and come back on the 8th. I called them to get it sorted out and was FURIOUS to find out that I, yes I had to pay an extra $150.00+ to change their mistake! I was on the phone for at least 2 hours screaming and yelling for them to fix it, but they wouldn't until I paid! So it was either I pay, or lose my whole vacation! Will NEVER book with them again!

This web site is a scam
February 10, 2014

This web site is a scam.
They show you a good price $341 per ticket and message "only 2 tickets left for this price" and also discount $10 per ticket. They also guarantee the loves price.

When we gave all info and credit card info, the price become $377 per ticket.
The price on us airways for the same tickets was $359
And Chipoair website still was giving a price $341 with message only 2 tickets left for this price".
We called and have big argument, and the returned us $18 per ticket to match price with us airways, and refuse to mach price with their own website, which still advertised $341 tickets.

Since I have a coupon for cheapoair, I thought i would use it. It turns out that the fares quoted on cheapoair are hgher than any other site. Even after throwing the $20 discount, they are still higher priced than any other site. Don't waste your time searching for a bargain on cheapoair, you won't find one.

This site is a joke
February 5, 2014

This site is a joke. Every flight I tried to book was conveniently sold out. They kept tacking on several hundred dollars, after going through the whole booking process and asking if I wanted to accept it or keep checking. I kept checking alright, right to another site. Will never try to book through CheapOAir again. Got my new ticket even cheaper than their advertised rate.

NOTE: I usually don't give reviews but this time I have to so that buyers will beware!

I have booked a RT international flight by phone after I checked prices on http://cheapoair.com. I got someone who gave his name as Lance. Before I paid for the tickets, I asked Lance to please give me my seat assignments... he told me my seats would be 7A, 21A, 21A and 9A. I then booked and agreed to pay for the RT tickets. Alas, I was so disappointed when I received my electronic confirmation because the seat numbers were entirely different from those that he told me... they were 36A and 28A. When I called cheapoair to talk to Lance and ask why he would misrepresent the seat numbers, I was given the run around by 3 different people... Francisco, Wayne and someone else whose name I didn't get. Actually, Francisco told me if I want to cancell, I should "go ahead"... so I did and I actually booked the same flights directly with the airline and even got a better deal.

I just wasted my time with cheapoair as confirmed by the overwhelmingly bad reviews I saw online... unfortunately I only saw the reviews after I got very disappointed by Cheapo's poor performance.

No problems whatsoever
February 1, 2014

No problems whatsoever. Very long international flight and saved about $100 using this site. The only issue is that one my flights was canceled and the airline (LAN) wanted me to call cheapoair and let them deal it. After insisting, the airline handled everything and made all the necessary changes.

Cheapoair was great online and on the phone! Easy way to search flights. I did find the Frontier Airlines treats passengers that purchased their tickets from a second party vendor (yahoo travel etc.) worse those who booked directly from Frontier.

At this point, I might as well pay the highest possible amount for my tickets.
I decided to go to this site to find budget tickets for my trip to AZ for an interview. I needed two tickets for my mother and I and as we went through the payment form, I was surprised to see that I needed to pay to reserve my seats.
I just let it be and paid the site for those seats and confirmed my tickets. Tomorrow is my flight so I decided to check in to US Airways and print my boarding passes. To my surprise, US Airways did not reflect the seating arrangements I made for my mother and I even though I PAID FOR this.
I am utterly surprised at this so I decided to contact them. Of course, I get no one on chat or phone.
This is the first and LAST time I'm using this crap of a site. STAY AWAY.

Our tickets have been confirmed on the airline as booked through CheapOair BUT over $5000 was overcharged to our credit card and a stop had to be placed on it by the bank.
Of course there is no one available from CheapOair to rectify the problem.
This seems to be a front for a scam - stay away!

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY
January 28, 2014

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. The customer service really sucks and they keep on transferring customers because no one knows what they're doing. I called to book a seat for my 17 month old son, and got charged $1379. 00. When I did not receive the confirmation email from them I called and after the 5th call, a customer service rep informed me that the $1359. 00 charge was for making changes! When I inquired about the nature of the change He could not even answer my question. I just wanted to confirm that my son had a seat and that question was not answered either. I am disputing these charges with my bank and WOULD NOT RECOMMEND this agency to anyone.

Do not use Cheapoair or their main supplier United Airlines

This trip was a nightmare. My first flight was cancelled because it did not exist as I was the only passenger on that flight and that they did not have enough staff and had to wait 12hrs to get another one that would make me go around the world to finally get to my destination (They were making me go from Ottawa to London, U. K then from London U. K back to New York, U. S then to San Francisco, U. S then to Manila Philippines) CRAZY! But this was the only option they gave me and had to get to my resort for my planned activities. This new option did not work as plan also, the new flight they gave me was late and they did not give me much time for my connection flight(45min) so I miss it had to wait again. Finally 2 days later when I got to Manila I could not go to my vacation spot because with all this mess up in flight booking they could not find my bag anymore. It was only 5 days later still stuck in in the city waiting that I finally got my bag. I wasted lots of my time and money into this vacation that ended up being a nightmare. They refuse to give me some money back and to provide me with any help along the way. I decided to book an early flight back since I had only few days left in my vacation and had paid everything twice already KEEP AWAY FROM CHEAPOAIR!

I chose flight dates from Fort Myers to New Orleans for work purposes from Jan 28th through the 31st. Dates were not flexible and I indicated so in the checkbox. They offered me a cheaper flight which I took and did not see until afterwards that they were alternate dates. So I called immediately to change the dates back to what I needed (which they did) and I had to pay the 85 dollar difference in price that matched the flights which were not alternate... no problem. Tomorrow is said flight and I have discovered severe weather will prohibit my working in New Orleans this week. Called to reschedule flight only to find out, they never changed the take-off date of my alternate flight. So to them, I missed as it left this morning and I was tagged as a no-show. But they were able to let me use the almost 500 dollars it cost for this flight towards a new one provided I pay an additional 175 dollar upcharge for rescheduling a no--show flight. But I wasn't a no-show. They were supposed to change the flights back to my inflexible dates. I have never spent so much money on a flight two states away, and that incudes round trip flights to Europe and back. CheapO? CheapNO!

Booked international retrun flight in April of 2013 on Cheapoair.com for a flight 8 months later (December 2013). When I checked the flight status about 60 hours before my flight on the airline's website, I saw that the airline had changed the flight route out of LAX and also changed departure time so early in the day for my international flight and that it would have been impossible to get to LAX on time with my hometown-LAX flight. I was never contacted by Cheapoair about these changes or by the airline. After calling cheapoair, American Airlines, and Airberlin back and forth from 5PM to 7AM the next morning trying to fix this, waiting on hold with cheapoair for at least 30 minutes every call (one time I waited an hour on hold and was cut off), Cheapoair only offered a (full) refund for my ticket. They would not rebook my flight. I had to buy a brand new airplane ticket less than 48 hours before my flight date and pay $1200 more for the new ticket (for this ticket I used Expedia.com) since I bought the ticket so close to the departure date. The airline told me that they gave Cheapoair permission to rebook me but Cheapoair would only offer a refund. When you buy an airplane ticket on cheapoair, they own your ticket the airline will not rebook you eventhough the airline was the one that changed their flight route and departure time.

Bait & switch!
January 13, 2014

Bait & switch! It was only after we got to the end of the booking that we saw the fare had been increased by over $200 per ticket. Someone called from Cheapoaiir while we were debating what to do & we ended up booking it anyway as we wanted to get our vacation booked. I will never do business with them again. I only hope nothing goes wrong with our tickets! I wish I had looked up reviews before doing business with them. Since they already had all our credit card info, we deemed it best to continue with our reservations, even though we were not happy with their dishonest way of doing business. They should be reported to BBB by all of us!

Horrible customer service. None of the numbers they provided can be contacted from phones in Australia, even the phone numbers listed specifically for Australia.

I had to send them an email, and only then would they get back to me.

Also, I had to reschedule my departure date, and they had the audacity to charge me over 400 dollars! I checked the flight schedule on the cheap-o-air website, and saw there were still tickets available, in addition, I also called the carrier to inquire what the rescheduling would cost, they said 180 dollars! So what cheap-o-air charged was 120 dollars above what the airline carrier quoted. I paid 120 dollars for 5 minutes of crappy customer service.

Never, ever will I purchase airline tickets from them again.

Their custoner service SUCKS $#*! they made me pay 180 dollars extra after changing my plane ticket 3 times. They changed it right before we were supposed to travel and we were not notified and are being asked to pay an extra 2,500 dollars to board the next day. I w tried contacting cheap o air and was on hold for over an hour after being transferred 3 times, when they finally picked up the stupid lady promised me she would look into my files, she put me on hold and hung up. I called again and ones again its been 40 minutes and I am still on hold! F*** this Company. Cheap O'Air SUCKS! They steal your money by changing your flight! And will NOT confront you about it... they honestly DO NOT EVEN DESERVE 1 STAR!

Will never use again or recommend:
-They never sent us seat assignments for return flight inspite of repeated requests
-They screwed up the return flight booking with the airline by using an incorrect flight code
-The only way to reach them for assistance was to pretend I was the airline calling - no help for a mere family of 4 passengers stuck at an airport check-in counter!
-CheapoAir refused responsibility for the mistake and refused to make the change which the airline said Cheapo had to do to fix the problem.
-Bottom line was a family of 4 trying to return home from a holiday weekend missed 2 flights and was only accommodated on the third and last possible return flight by the goodness of the airline itself inspite of CheapoAir who had collected $2200 from us for this trip months in advance.

A major snow storm approaching and I needed to get my daughter off of Nantucket Island before it hit. Three hours on the phone and "chat" to move up the ACK BOS EWR itinerary one day. Seats were available on all flights. CheapOair representative first said that he could make the changes for $170 re-booking fee plus $75 difference in airfare. I knew those fees were ridiculous but I told him to go ahead and make the changes because my daughter had to get home. After several "did you get the change information email? S" He came back and said that he could not make any changes on a return leg flight because of "airline policy". Of course this is an incorrect and ridiculous claim. Jet Blue made the change for $50 which may be refunded because of weather and the fact that the original flights will probably be cancelled due to the approaching blizzard.

CheapOair is not a reputable business. You might luck out and have no difficulties but the odds are against you. You have been warned!

We were booking on CheapO air and got a decent round trip airfare to San Francisco. However we immediately noticed that the return date was not the one we intended to book. Whether this was user error or a system error on their end we do not know. There were two of us and we were both checking our process as we went along. We tried contacting CheapO immediately and waited for almost an hour before we spoke to anybody. We were told we could not change the return date without paying an additional $600+ in fees. The total cost of our booking was $800. We tried to cancel through the airline and at first they said they could change the return date, no problem but first they would have to check with an advisor. Once again we were on hold for nearly an hour. The agent returned and quoted us the exact exorbitant fees that CheapO had demanded. We ended up booking a return flight on another airline. As a last resort we tried once more to contact CheapO and see if we could get any kind of a credit at all for our return flight cancellation. Even though the flight departure was more than a month away we were told that we would receive 0. Never again.
