Literally was ripped off for $528. Then he tried to scam me by wanting me to "confirm" an email and it was for someone else flying to London. This company is $#*!. DO NOT USE THEM!
Booked a ticket and it showed 2 luggages at the bottom compared to the others that showed none... based on this, i purchased it... then called right away to double check but had to wait like half hour to talk to someone. Since it shows 24 hours free cancellation, I didnt worry much. Cancelled and was hit with $150 fee for 3 tickets that were even booked. Never told me they were going to charge me if not would had kept it. Life its too hard already to lose $150 just like that. Will NEVER EVER use them and WOULD NOT recommend them. Called back and was told I was lucky I was not hit with a higher fee. Have all copies to fight it with credit card.
Refusal to cancel and refund, even though I paid for premium travel assist. I paid extra for Premium Travel assist I tried to tell the person who took my call, but he hung up.
Happened 1/25/25. Booked at 12:30 p.m., but no e-ticket or itinerary received. The "step 3, check back for process completion" would not open for the rest of the afternoon. My VISA showed the total charge ($519.37)was made at 1:30 p.m. 4:00 p.m. I phone called United Air Line and they had no record of my flight booking, but offered to directly sell me a ticket for $890. I declined their offer.
So I immediately booked a very similar itinerary thru CheapoAir website. Went quickly, smoothly, and cheaper than...Guru. Cheapo completion was at 4:55 p.m. And then a miracle - Guru e-mailed me a totally completed process - at (you guessed it) 4:55 p.m. It must be that the Guru Bot can tap-in to other booking service Bots even though I was frozen out of the process.
Lesson learned: Never again for Cheap Fare Guru, and a subset: VISA did not back me up on my Dispute Resolution.
I booked a flight with this firm and purchased the "Platinum Travel Assist" to have an option to rebook if needed. After booking, I came cross a different travel time than original which would reduce my layover in Newark airport by 4 hours. I called the agent, and he wanted about $200 more for the same ticket oven though I was looking at the route on their web site for the same price as my original. So, he refused to honor the price and asked me to cancel and rebook. I did so and then I found out that they charged me again for booking fee of $55.00 and Platinum Travel Assist fee of $39.99. When I contacted them, they promised to reimburse and of course it never happened. So I had to contact my Credit Card company to dispute and finally they reimbursed the $39.99 and never reimbursed the $55.00.
I addition, my return flight was cancelled, and I was not informed about it at all. By chance, I checked my itinerary on Lufthansa's airline website and discovered the cancellation and when I contacted Cheap Guru about it, they accepted no responsibility to rebook my return flight and asked me to purchase a return flight at almost 2 time the cost of the my original returned flight. After much argument about their lack of accepting responsibility, the agent hanged up and couple hours later I revived a new itinerary for a flight for 2 days earlier schedule than my original which I was not able to reschedule my trip. Thus I went to Lufthansa's ticket office and booked a flight for the day after my original flight and returned home.
This company represents truly a fraud operation by which they sell you a ticket and Platinum Travel Assist but refuse to honor their commitment and by asking you to rebook, they are making more money on fees.

I booked a flight to Newark New Jersey from Canada. Was told the fare quoted was in Canadian dollars.
My bank declined the transaction after I discovered they had actually charged me in US dollars and then added the exchange rate and transaction fee, bringing the total from $308US to over $500 canadian. Not impressed.
They make it impossible to change a flight, they keep making changes without my knowledge. Very unprofessional and rude as can be! I couldn't even ask a question without being interrupted or told that I was wrong. I have taken many flights with several different flight companies and this one was by far the worse! I called to ask about the $150 that they charged without my consent and they're pretty much told me to get over it. Their customer service is out of this world disrespectful! I will never ever be using their service again! If you want to have an easy flight, I would do the same if I were you
I booked a ticket, and after 5 days I have email that the flight number changed and charged me 35. Called airline and they told me its scam and I can report it, they change flight free of charge, but GURU steal our money. Be aware don't book with them, will pay much higher ticket and stressful too.
I've received numerous emails regarding changes to my intinery. I have not responded to any of them. Instead, I called the airlines directly and confirmed that my tickets are still good. The only changes were times that aren't a big dea. Don't call them. CALL THE AIRLINES DIRECTLY.
I booked our flights in february, shortly after we were notified that our flight had changed. We are then again charged to have to change the flights that they say the airline bumped us from. I did that was charged almost exact same price as the first flight. Then I was notified again when I did not accept to pay the extra money and said I would keep the flight they had issued me without our knowledge they canceled our flight. Got ready to fly out and three days before decide to check on my tickets only to find out my tickets who no longer available. They have been canceled by agent from cheap guru. Now these are non-refundable tickets as they say on their ad so not only do they keep my original $798. They kept the $702 they charged me at the first rebooking. Now they are refusing to charge or refund me anything because they made the decision at their end to cancel my flights. I was out $1,500 and had to repurchase tickets at the cost of $1,800. This has been absolutely the worst ordeal I have ever went through. Beware stay away from cheap Fair gurus at all cost.
Horrible, horrible, and horrible. Shop elsewhere. I purchased the insurance but Cheap Fare Guru didn't want to honor it! They had me calling different places that took nearly 50 minutes to get someone on the phone. The insurance told me they shouldn't have told me to call them because I am covered under the insurance I purchased. When I called Cheap Fare Guru back, which took another half hour more than the one hour initial wait to have someone answer, they said the will charge me ridiculous fees per person. Then they wanted me to call the airlines, just so they can get me off their back. This is the worst I've seen in the airline industry. Suppose I wanted to cancel my tickets since I had horrible service. Per my insurance coverage, I'm covered 100%. Cheap Fare Guru wants to charge me about $600 per person! That's the same price for changing the return date as well. Total cheaters.
This is a one-man operation business (from India). There is no 24-hour free cancellation-be careful when you buy from the website.
Why don't buy from priceline and any other official business sites!
For the last time in my life I used a CheapFareGuru agent. I also will not buy any tickets from any travel agency. In order to ensure that my time is not wasted and my property is not stolen by CheapFareGuru. My mental is not tortured. I sincerely remind everyone to always read reviews of this company before purchasing any ticket. Because they are all knives that kill without blood. I will definitely report CheapFareGuru for deceiving consumers, publishing false ticket information, bad service, and being a pyramid scheme company.
This booking was cancelled by the airline when part of the itinerary was cancelled by them. I called the call center on December 19 to cancel the flight. I spent close to three hours on the phone – the call dropped three times, and during the majority of the time during the calls, I was on hold waiting to talk to someone or often put on hold while the agent was busy supposedly trying to help me. While the rep originally told me about the "service fee" during the call, (I do not recall anything about a service fee when I booked the flight), after I explained about the flight cancellations, I was then told that the fee would be waived. I was grateful and all time I spent waiting or calling seemed worth it. Imagine how surprised I was to get an email charging me this fee! And after all the frustration of the call!
I wrote them but received a bland reply, and not even an acknowledgment of the frustration and time spent on this. And, of course, no refund.
I have booked with Cheap Fare Guru in the past, but I doubt I would them again.
Somehow my wife ended up getting several flight reservation charges going through on her credit card when she was trying pay for the flight through CheapFareGuru. Her bank cancelled her card and rejected all the charges. CheapFareGuru then kept trying and threatening to continue charging her a cancellation fee. It took 3 calls for her to get someone at CheapFareGuru to cancel the flight reservation. Still do not think this drama with CheapFareGuru is over.
My sister called me at the airport and told me that her confirmed air ticket is no longer available. We purchased air ticket through cheapfareguru.com. When I call customer service, I was told that cheapfareguru.com is no longer in control of the ticket and that I should call the airline myself! They refused to help or at least trying to help.
United Airlines changed the times of my round trip flight a number of times. Yesterday I got texts and emails about another time change, Then a phone call from someone insisting that I look at either the email or text that just arrived and that I need to immediately confirm that they're OK. The changes were very minor so I sent an OK back. Today I read the email in more detail and saw a $50 charge for this service. I never changed anything. The fellow who called never mentioned the fee. The urgency to send the OK was their go-ahead to charge me. If I had bought the ticket directly from United there would be no charge. I think these people are at least semi-crooks. BTW the wait to talk to someone was very long. Obviously I will never use them again.
STAY AWAY- THEY WILL NOT REFUND YOUR MONEY 925.00 gone. They said two pay periods sound like money laundering. NEVER USE THEM. I TRAVEL EVERY MONEy and NEVER dealt with scammers like this. I will dispute the charge and get it back that way
This scam company hopes to one day be shut down and be in the news. They told me that $75 would be deducted for refunding the check and $350 would be paid for the difference. But when my daughter canceled they were all talking about trains and the prices kept changing. Originally, my daughter bought insurance, the change fee should only be up to US$300. In the end, he charged my daughter a service fee of $100. After they ordered it for me, they steal it from my credit card the next day. Originally, the one-way price of the new order was US$1091 for my child. He ordered me US$1128.7. They scoundrelly don't answer the phone. I'm going to file a complaint against them.
Answer: Yes they will charge you immediately. That's how they get you. They are very fishy
Answer: No don't use them. If any problems with your flight you can not get ahold of anyone. They don't answer their phone or emails
Answer: Even if they answer they won't help you. They'll try to rip you off
Answer: They wont. They will always say it is the airline that is making the changes, and then they will charge you an additional fee for any changes they make
