Honestly if there was an option for a zero star rating that's what I would give! I have been with them for 12+ years and have had nothing but issues I have had fraud on my account more then once and they won't even help get my money back. They can't keep your information safe an do nothing to help you or make it right. No wonder why they are called "Chase me around". They do nothing but screw yu over and take from you. So much for "we value our customers" haha yea right yu "value" benefiting from your customers and sell their Information to other corporations. I have done some research an man oh mighty RED FLAGS! I do NOT recommend them at all don't walk RUN from this corporation
This is one of the worst banks on the face of the earth. When I first opened my account here in 2012, the customer service was great. You could get thru to a rep w/in 5 minutes and your issue resolved quickly. Now, in 2022, it is HORRIFIC service with someone in India on the other side of the world answering customer service lines. There have been so many screwups on my account w/in the last 2 years. First, they let an overdraft of over $6,000 go thru on my account which is insane that I did not authorize. They are supposed to monitor accounts to make sure things like this don't happen. I had to wait over a month for them to credit the money back into my account and resolve this. Second, they went and cancelled free checking accounts behind my back w/no notification at all. They started charging monthly service fees and I caught them doing it. I had to get all those service fees reversed. I then chose what type of account I wanted w/the new accounts since they were no longer free. I was told that my account number would stay the same and I could use the same debit card as before w/no problem. It was a total lie. They went and cancelled my old card behind my back when I was on vacation out of state and my card started declining transactions. I again had to order another card to replace the one they cancelled, and it was another nightmare. They told me I would get a tracking number for a rush delivery order, and I called back three times over a 24-hour period, and they still did not have the tracking number to give me. I am done with this bank for good. I have been a customer for over 10 years, and this is the final straw. I am fed up w/the long hold times, mismanaged screwups and inept customer service.
Are. You kidding with these password rules. Took me 30 minutes to make one. Once I was in I tried to try for an IRA it literary asked for my social security then said it work unless I use my tax ID number is my social. This app will have frustrated.
I have been using the Chase Sapphire Preferred and IHG Reward cards for a few years now and I'm cancelling both today despite taking a hit in the credit score. I had to make a total of 8 phone calls over the course of 3.5 months to get two airplane tickets canceled and refunded. The refund for the second ticket is still not done. These people WON'T do anything until you call and remind them of their job. Every time I called, someone always "forgot" to do something the last time. Also if you need to switch flights (happened to me TWICE), their prices are ALWAYS $100-$200 higher than the prices you see on Google Flights. Complete rip-off and sub-standard customer service.
Invested a lot of money with Chase. Two brokerage accounts, one managed and one not managed. After years, the unmanaged one never lost past the principal. But he managed account, the one that you pay someone a fee to "manage" lost thousands. One time I got a penalty fee for my accounts dropped below the minimum. Online I showed I was 65K above the minimum. It was confirmed with 5 different bankers that they were correct. They claimed I was 75K short! Turns out they were wrong, and never explained the mistake after I asked 4 times with my private adviser. I have printed messages to prove this.
I submitted my legal name change form and sent my legal document (a copy of my SS card) to Chase. I received a letter back stating they didn't have complete information? I was told I didn't write my SS# on the form, but I had included a copy of my SS# card. I sent all this information certified mail and now have to resend bc I didn't actually write my SS# on the form. I sent a copy of my SS card as the legal document required. They would not accept it! I spent over an hour waiting & talking on the phone with to 2 representatives. The "escalating rep" I spoke with was awful. I would NEVER recommend Chase! They have been THE WORST company to deal with regarding a legal name change and Ive dealt with A LOT! My SS# didn't change. It's the same number but NOT accepted! Their forms are NOT clear and need to be revised for clarification on what is needed! I wouldn't waste my time again with this company!
THEY PLACE YOUR DEPOSITS ON HOLD FOR OVER A WEEK! I deposited a check over a week ago and the money still has not been deposited into my account. The check was written by a family member who is in great financial condition and banks at Bank of America. They would not give me the reason why only that they have the right to hold checks due to the small print that I agreed to when I opened the account. SCAM to earn interest on your money held hostage for made up reasons?
Wouldn't let me link account to cashapp or paypal. New ATM's are clunky and crash frequently. Savings rate is almost nothing for average consumers like me.
Really bad experience. Chase charged and withdraw my daughter $800 from her account for a transaction fee with out letting her know about a payment fee.
I have purchased 4 pair of glasses because the prices were so reasonable. The service was middling'; sometimes efficient and on time, sometimes my order just seemed to get lost on delivery. Now the quality of merchandise; do not buy their wire frames or frameless. They are very poor quality, bend extremely easily and within a couple of weeks they just don't stay on without a strap. There are also many frames they cannot seem to fill a prescription with the filters and other requirements. I have called them twice and they just don't understand or give me all kinds of excuses which I know are bogus.
Absolute garbage bank. No ATM within 100 miles but they refuse to give me a break on THEIR end of ATM fees to get MY HARD EARNED CASH. The foreign rude customer service department said its "in the terms and conditions" and "they are in their right". F*ck these selfish POS. I'm transferring my accounts elsewhere. On August 5th 22 I did a wire to my nephew who is starting school in Montreal, today is 18th still didn't reach the destination, I called several times Chase by my surprised they don't have access to the wire department only by email. I requested phone number and street address, they don't have it, I went to the branch no help their, they told they will research it but after insisting they gave me a number for executive branch where they told me they will investigate so, I am in limbo the wire was for 10k Canadian which 7k us and the money no where to be located. An executive called me today she said it will take 4 to 5 days because they are back up, I ask to be recompensed for the lack access to my fund she told me no. Extremely disappointed with chase I have been banking with them for years, this is going to be a change since I am closing my account and going to bank of America. NO MORE CHASE
Attempting to make a deposit into my recently deceased mother's account so her auto pay bills would continue to be paid. They refused to allow me as I'm not on the account. Death certificate in hand and driver's license given to them and they inform me that they can't because they don't know who I am. Then they tell me that I could get a money order, from them for a fee, and deposit that. All of this coming from the branch manager who allowed me to make a deposit into that same account three weeks prior. Obviously they have no standard practices and will do anything to squeeze a few more bucks out of someone while stomping on your deceased relative.
Chase claims if you pay your bill on your payment date after 11:59 EST they would give you a late payment fee and then reverse it. I have had to call and ask them to remove the late fee once I saw they did not reverse it within the 1 to 2 days period they claim.
Recently I paid my bill on the payment date at 10 pm Pacific Time, and recieved the late fee that did not get removed again. When I reached out to customer service they refused to remove the late fee because to them the payment went through the following day and not my payment date.
They lied about the removal of my late fee that they clearly state would take off everytime I make a payment after their EST timeline
So now I have to pay my Chase bills days earlier so that it gets processed on their time I guess...
On 8/10/22 I submitted a transaction for $2,000 for deposit into my Chase Checking account. The deposit was an ACH from Navy Federal Credit union. The transaction was made to cover my son's tuition and is/has been held by Chase Bank with not explanation. I was told on several occasions that the issue would be resolved. Only to be transferred time after time. The funds were available and verified by Navy Federal, but Chase refused to make them available. When I asked to close my remaining accounts I was lied to and told it could only be done in a location. Only to later be told it could be by phone. My son is now ineligible to begin classes. This is the second transaction this month Chase has held. The first being an Escrow check from PNC Financial. I was given a similar experience. Chase seems to have a policy of harassment on minority accounts that they feel exceed their comfort. I want this financial harassment to STOP. It's essentially the electronic equivalent of calling the cops on the black man for depositing a check. I want this rectified and Chase to end this practice against my accounts and the accounts of others they deem too BLACK to have healthy Bank accounts.
It is very, very, very slow and super very, very, very difficult to transfer money from Chase to external accounts. I am going to close my accounts in CHASE soon.
We've been with Chase for 10 years. We needed a line of credit to continue growing. My partner and I agreed to personally guarantee the small line and chase denied us. 10 years of profitability and never missing a payment to anyone. We're in the process of leaving them now. If you are a small business owner look for a local bank willing to support you. Chase doesn't care about small businesses.
Banking 20 years and holds on checks for 10 days made me lose 3 customers.
Leave chase, I've had 0 issues with Huntington and forum credit union. Chase bank is a joke with can't understand phone help.
Chase bank law dept. is the absolute worst! My sibling and I are trying to collect our inheritance from our deceased parents. They had a will but because "trustie" wasn't in the wording we now had to get a lawyer and the courts involved. No one is contesting the will. I'm so done with Chase and don't have one good word to say about them! Stay clear of them….

Answer: Because they can and they don't care. The customer service outside of the branch is non-existent. They truly don't care about anything other than the amount of money they can collect from the interest they can collect from our money.
