I watched Gayle King and Oprah the other morning as they discussed "Caste" - the next book in Oprah's book club. At the end, Oprah seemed quite interested in sending books to two of the anchors but I'm wondering if Jeff Glor ever received her book? CBS News is becoming very hard to watch... they don't just report the news - they give their opinion which most people don't want to hear. We can get opinions from people around us all day... just present the news without being so negative. This is no different than all the people they discuss doing things "they" don't like! Just present the news!

I am turning off almost all of the programs I have watched previously - especially CBS Sunday Morning Show with Jane Pauley - this show in the past year is anti Trump!, pro feminist, etc etc - you know like ALL THE OTHER PROGRAMS people watch! There is no escape from the same old same old! Really? ISNT THERE OTHER SUBJECTS you can report about? I prefer the older programming where you weren't getting irritated - but educated on something no other programming was talking about these days! Please try to keep your viewers! I could tell the KAREN segment must have ruffled a FEW FEATHERS! Please stop!

I used to watch this program but now can hardly stand it. Gayle has to comment on everything. Tony and Anthony always concur and seem to have to smile at so many asinine comments or clips or uncomfortable setups. Worst of all is Vlad. I used to think he was excellent as a reporter, but now cannot take him seriously; since his new role is to turn everything into a laugh fest. All 4 of them fake gales of laughter. TV is always turned off during this ridiculous phony display.
I previously tuned into CBS because I found ABC and NBC morning news intolerable, but now CBS is far worse. As a result, I usually watch none. I'll read my news. It's less annoying.

CBS isn't the only news agency guilty of this: so are FOX, NPR, etc., but it is driving me CRAZY that "journalists" are reporting misleading poll numbers. For example: "57% of Americans approve/disapprove of... " Really? You polled every American in the country? I was never polled. I learned way back in college that the correct way to report poll numbers was: "57% of Americans POLLED approve/disapprove of (fill in the blank)" Why are journalists being allowed to do this? Why are editors allowing this? I tried to contact CBS, but they aren't easy to contact.

This morning's coverage of what racism means to white people was interesting. There are many who think of people of color as "them" who are less intelligent. This is not only a racist thought but unfair. I worked with and for many black men in a major corporation who I admired for their intelligence and fairness. Given the same opportunities for education and corporate advancement, I believe all people can achieve success.
Having written these words, I would like to see a segment that represents how people of color describe racism and their feelings toward Caucasians. Generally, when someone mentions racism, it is assumed it is only "white" people showing prejudice, discrimination, or antagonism against people of other races.

1st I want to say I used to be a Democrat but because of media like CBS and CNN who continuously lie and spin the truth to fit the bad democrats way of business Who own these companies and back pedophiles, if they're not pedophiles themselves, Also if Gayle king is so much for black lives matters why is she consistently trying to start a race war instead of helping her people stop burning down their own cities, I know why, she's trying to save her friend Oprah and whoever else is getting ready to go down at CbS For your little cult club of the rich and twisted, the game is up, watch as people disappear from the spotlight lol

U.S. news has shifted to opinion-based content that appeals to emotion; newspapers have shifted less than TV has.

American journalism is losing its objectivity.

That's according to a new analysis on news discourse. In the study, released this month, researchers found a major shift occurred between 1989 and 2017 as journalism expanded beyond traditional media, such as newspapers and broadcast networks, to newer media, including 24-hour cable news channels and digital outlets. "Notably, these measurable changes vary in extent and nature for different news platforms," it found. RAND is a nonprofit nonpartisan think tank based in Santa Monica, Calif.

"Our research provides quantitative evidence for what we all can see in the media landscape," said Jennifer Kavanagh, a RAND senior political scientist and lead author of the report, the second in a series on the phenomenon of "Truth Decay," the declining role of facts and analysis in civil discourse and its effect on American life. "Journalism in the U.S. has become more subjective and consists less of the detailed event- or context-based reporting that used to characterize news coverage."

I am extremely disappointed in CBS morning news. It seems to have become the Gayle King show. I have watched this show for years, but now it turns my stomach. Everyone and I mean everyone agrees that the officer that killed George Floyd was in the wrong. The officers have been charged, but she continues to say police are not being held accountable. Also, we all know that there are some protests that are peaceful, but there are also riots going on. The CBS morning news only wants to talk about the peaceful protests and how the police are doing bad things at those, they never talk about the riots where the "protesters" are killing people and burning down the businesses. CBS morning news also continues to drag out every incident between African Americans and the police, but they only mention what they think the policeman did wrong but they downplay things like the suspect physically fighting the police or taking their taser. The news should tell the good and bad on both sides. It should not be one woman's personal and obviously biased opinion. If Gayle King wants to be a reporter she needs to report the whole story without personal commentary, or she needs to go back to her talk show and allow someone who can report the news have her job at CBS.
