Joined this site after being scammed on Facebook. Thought this was a safe site since it was advertised in my church bulletin. Posted my profile and after a week met a Jonathan Smith from Nevada. We spoke every day for 9 months 3-4x a day. We chatted on Yahoo Messenger too. Our relationship grew and I fell for him.To make a long story short... my brother searched the Internet and found that this guy had 7 different aliases and a different profile for each one. I got myself involved in a scam where he would order clothing, computers, watches and have them shipped to me. In turn I would ship to him paying for international shipping to Ghana where he was so called working with his brother. He was a real estate developer from Switzerland working in Ghana, building an estate. I found out none of this was true, he wasn't the guy in the photo and all items shipped to me were bought with stolen credit cards. I was so upset since I am so honest and would never do anything illegal. For two weeks I couldn't eat or sleep. Had to take tranquilizers to calm down. I then became paranoid that I was going to get arrested. I filed a report with the police to cover myself.
I told Jonathan all of this so probably has a new alias now. He was supposed to come to meet me but had this job in Ghana then go into a car accident and almost died. I didn't wait around for the next excuse to come to see me. I am going to contact catholicmatch to see if they will refund my membership fee. If not then I will sue for the stress and emotional pain I was caused. Stay off all dating web sites... most of them are scams. Unless you can meet the person locally. That is the only way to survive. Would u believe Jonathan called to apologize to me. He saw what a nice person I was and hated what he was doing to me. This was after I caught him.
They ripped me off! They took my money for over 2 years of being on the site, and then, unexpectedly, they kicked me off the website and did not refund me for the money.
Answer: It's not a good idea to join! After a messy sign up process and providing too much information for a simple dating service you are being introduced to 95% fake accounts. The reply rate is very low regardless of how well thought-out your letters are. I had better luck on http://J4Love.net where I met the woman I'm going to marry. She is a true Christian with strong family values. Just what I was looking for on CatholicMatch!
Answer: You should just go to a bar. It will be much easier for you and there will be many willing men.
Answer: The women will continue speaking to you online and then meet you in person. It is common sense.
Answer: No. Match.com is secular and awful. The men & women are primarily looking for hookups. It is like Tinder.
Answer: They are not interested in your profile, They think your pictures are unattractive or do not like what you said. How is this hard to understand?
