Many men on this site have pictures dating so far back that you can see the film is old. I have come to the conclusion that they think because a woman is a churchgoer then she will be Ok with a socially awkward unattractive man. They are sorely mistaken. Many of the seemingly good looking successful men are fake profiles. I can not fathom that the owners of this site think the females are dumb enough not to spot a fake profile. The active men are just trying to get a gullible woman because they aren't having success on the other sites like Match.com. They are not the least bit interested in their faith. Also, the owners should delete the ones who have been inactive for a long period because many are in the dead zone. Lastly, many men on this site want to be pursued rather than be the pursuer. This is the same anti-Christian, wuss egoism that exists on the other sites like Match.com. This has been a total waste of my time.

CM has good people and bad people. For a Catholic site, there are way too many people who don't attend Mass on a regular basis which, right there, means they don't live by the catechism. That's just the tip of the iceberg. They don't even believe basic tenets of catholicism(nor do they care to learn it because they're not focused on religion). Then to top it off, some of these people try shaming tactics and troll the internet calling people who do live by those tenets "judgemental"(they always have the same rhetoric as well when they don't get what they want). When joining a Catholic site I expect better than that.

There are people who live by the catechism but you have to search for them most of the time. Also, pray a rosary for success.

I've been a member for 3 months of a 6-month subscription and have two issues:

(1) The free videos tell us to send messages to people, but the message interface is really quirky and a pain to use. Since this is the primary means for members to connect, I expect it to work well.

(2) I rarely communicate with anyone on Catholic Match! I'm a friendly, average looking female, and hardly anyone looks at my profile, much less, sends a message. I currently have 10 messages I've sent that are still "Unread." This just seems unlikely that men my age aren't reaching out OR responding.

I've never been on a dating site, so I don't have a point of reference, but I've been unimpressed. I really like that you can match based on your beliefs, so it's disappointing.

I have met some good and some bad people from CatholicMatch. The bad: there were people who didn't know what they wanted in life or wanted too much from a mate to a point of silliness and hypocritical. The good: some were very down to earth, not snobby, and did walked the talk regarding their Catholic faith. Like many things in life, there are good and bad, some honest and some not. My take about CatholicMatch is to try it, not have any high expectations, and most importantly, listen to your gut! I have been fortunate to meet a very, very, good Catholic. I'm giving them a 4 star rating because the site is not perfect. Best wishes.

My friends, escape from this site. Sad to see a "catholic" site so dishonest.
My experience with the site was very bad, in my Catholic view this site has nothing.
I signed this site for 6 months worth USD 74.94 which would amount to USD 12.49 per month.
My experience was as follows. I entered the site after I paid, and I got to know him better, his functions etc... But I did not really like the site, and I went to see his policies regarding the refund, to see if a refund was possible. And as I saw in the following link The site issued the refund, if in case the subscriber had not used the own resources of a subscriber, which was my case. Because I did not use any subscriber function. Two hours after I signed up for the site, I contacted support asking for a refund. The answer I got was the following.

She said that refund was not offered, answer is contrary to the site's own policy, as you can see in the link left on top.
Then I contacted contact explaining the situation again, said that they were contradicting themselves, and sent a print of the policy refund of the site itself.
I received an answer, not the question I asked, but my request was being closed.
How do I pay for something I will not use? This is dishonesty, lack of character., Are countering themselves. Flee from this site do not want to have problems.

First, there are many fake profiles. Famous instagram models etc. They steal the photos and make fake profiles. I watched new members every day for a month. Insane how many fake profiles were being created. They are preying on your emotions. That person you like probably does not exist.

Second, if your subscription has just run out, then you will start receiving messages from fake profiles. This is their way to get you to pay more money. You think "Wow! My luck just changed!" They are preying on your emotions.

The person who runs this website needs to go to confession.

I reviewed the profiles on here on night and placed my own without a photo. I decided if someone actually took the time to read and respond I would join. Out of the blue, a year or more later, someone did, we corresponded and met one evening for dinner. I couldn't place were I had recognized him, but there was something that really overwhelmed me about his face and a few antics. He later accused me of having a crush on a mutual acquaintance whom, I accidently discovered had a double life. This man was the same man I saw in a miliatary bar near my home 20 years previous when he was a Marine. He wanted nothing to do with me, so not sure if he recognized me first. This experience made me regret my whole life, loose faith in my own faith, and put that rosary away. I can't recommend any online dating to anyone, tried others and it is just opening a gateway to people who will hurt you. In this case, my own faith brought this man back into my life and sent me down this dark road, that I am tired of living. If it's true one can expire of a broken heart, I hope it is sooner than later for me, because I'm having one hell of a come to Jesus meeting with St. Micheal.

This site is very inactive. There are also scammers. There is a 7/7 views of the Catholic Church. Most people agree online with all 7, but in actuality these men are also not waiting for marriage. I ran into some phishing for information about my finances. He said he would call back in an hour. I really think he was screening me for potential to get money out of him. I asked the site for a refund, but they said no since I had already used the features. In June I went to Starbucks with a male quite older than me hoping for a friend and told him so. He critiqued our date from June->September on just small talk over the sites forum which is a public place to post stuff on the site. The site has a no gossip policy which they do not enforce. This guy who has a high level of education should know how to not mix fact and fiction for a better story. I reported all of these incidences yet the posts criticized me for being too young and yet he was the one who messaged me. He just needs to ask out women his own age and save the stories for his diary. The site left these posts up. I filed a complaint with the BBB and I promptly received a full refund. My account was automatically deactivated by them as well. Then no more scammers. Online dating has really dropped low even so called religious sites like Catholic match. If one cannot even talk about music and be criticized. This is 63 yo who behaved like this. Get an almanac and a calculator if you don't wish to go out with younger women. The age is clearly stated on the profile. Anyway important part if you need a refund contact the BBB and file a complaint. Then don't use the site at all.

The have a written policy at the top of the forums. It's about gossiping about other members. A member went out once with me to Starbucks in june. September he is mixing gossip/with fiction about our onetime meeting. He said I was too young yet was the one who contacted me. It states that a person cannot gossip about another or they will be removed for access to the forums. I've reported this. Then reported in the format they required and they said it was resolved and asked how They did I put that it was not. This is not the first time I've had a problem with their customer service. The offending posts remain yet they have it resolved? Sandy at Catholic match customer service said they can't say how it was resolved. Yet the posts remain.

I would not recommend this dating website to anyone. We have had no results. Several years back my mother tried, the first guy was a total catfish said he was from Italy but lived in Texas but after a month of talking with him found out what a total fake he was. He was trying to get us to send him money and clothing.
This year we decided to try again after moving to Florida. My mother signed up and she sent messages, and she would get little winks but no replies. People would look at the profile but never message. So she decided it was total fake and wanted her money back. But the company would only refund a little bit so my mom transferred it over to me to see if I would have any luck. Two to three months have gone by and absolutely nothing. This site is fake and you can't convince me otherwise.

I was on this website for six weeks. Then I met my boyfriend on the website. I was the first and only girl he messaged. So things worked out pretty quickly. I am 23 and my boyfriend is also 23. There are a lot of young people on there. Luckily I live in a heavily populated part of the country so it may have been easier for me.

I did get some messages from older men. I did not respond to them. I know there are a lot of negative reviews, maybe you guys were reaching out to women to young and they were not going to waste their time responding.

Yes they did tell me I could not use a picture with sunglasses for my profile picture, but it was not the end of the world.

Maybe you are not finding matches because your not updating your profile. After 4 weeks on the site I updated my profile picture and got several new messages. It takes work to find someone.

I just wish it was an app rather than a website.

Went on this site looking to meet women with Catholic values. Problem is, there are not that many active users on the site that live within an hour and a half drive. So...

1) Extremely overpriced for the scarcity of local women you can correspond with that are active members. Even the discounts are overpriced relative to other dating site that offer many more members.

2) CM uses the same money-making tactics that other dating sites use to prey on your insecurities. Examples -- they don't let you know who is a fully subscribed member and who isn't. Therefore, you could send a message to someone that can't read it and respond b/c they are not a paying member. CM should be upfront with everyone about this but they aren't because they want to make money and use these profiles to lure people in.

3) For what you pay, you'd think there would be an easier way of getting support. There isn't. Only customer service is by email and takes a long time to respond. In addition, they tend to give boilerplate responses to very specific questions.

4) There are definitely fake profiles on here. Disappointing.

5) Several times I have updated my profile with this -- "I am no longer a paying member so I cannot respond to your messages". I put this in All Caps at the top of my profile introduction. Every time I've done this it has been deleted by CM. Despicable practices.

For a Catholic site, I'm disappointed that they prioritize making money over setting people up. It's hard to meet other Catholics and as a result I may give up on finding another Catholic woman. This is a major crisis in the Church that needs to be addressed or there will be no more Catholic families.
