Just like all the rest of the complaints, I too was charged $ 18.95 when I was told up front that the charge was $ 1.00. When I went to check out, the charges shown were $ 2.47. I should not have gone through with the transaction but being the trust worthy person that I am, I went through with it anyway. I am reporting this BOGUS co. To the Better Business Bureau, the Consumer Fraud Commission, the Federal Trade Commission. People and companies like this have to be put out of business and should be made to give back all the monies people like me have been " STOLEN " from!
I am also contacting my bank and requesting my money be refunded an for them to do an investigation.

I wanted to buy a used car I liked. CARFAX scared me away w/their $37 buck report. So I googled & stumbled on carhistory.us.org... advertising a car report for $1. It sounded too good to be true. My guts instinct told me not to go there, foolishly I did... the rest is history. My experience was exactly like the one mentioned above by Bob P. I knew something was a not right. So I checked my CR card activity and lo & behold! $18.95 charge for what? Who knows but I did not authorize. Dispute has been submitted thru my Cr card company. I am not bothering calling carhistory.us.org. I do not trust them. That whole processing report seemed very deceptive. FREE ADVICE for YOU: STAY AWAY FROM THESE PEOPLE!

I can't even call it a company. When i called and complained about them ripping me off they told me they hated black people and jewish people. I was like wtf. What does race have to do with this. Never got a refund and it has been a month now. I have never been treated worse by anyone. There are 1000 of people that have been scammed. Don't believe the good reviews. They are lying through there teeth.

Poor report advertised as free. Then they charge $18.95 per month. Keep changing names - for credit card charges (www.carrecordusa.com, www.autohistorychecks.com) all the same people.

I like many of you fell for this, thinking I could get a report for FREE, then magically it turned into $1 (Just a little 'ol Database Fee). Then Next thing you know, I got the Shody Report, for one it did not show me as even an owner and I had the car fro over a year! And also did not show a recall, that has been on for over a year, So I called for a refund, it said no problem, to get one right?, then I found out they said you agreed to the $18.95 charge. I said no way! I did so. Well I even went to do this again to see where this $18.95 was and still cannot find it, not in terms of service and conditions or nothing, says will give you the OPTION, well they must have bypassed the (Will Give You) part. Personally imho, it's a site used to MINE your Credit card numbers and sell them to Thief's. So cancel your car immediately afterwards. To BE SAFE!

I fell for their $1 report and subsequently was charged $19. When I called them they said I signed up for the monthly fee. They cancelled my service but I am still out the $19 since they didn't reverse the charge. Beware of this if you deal with them. Their report was not at all as comprehensive as Carfax report.

This is not true that they would overcharge your credit card. True is that during payment there is a typical ruse to enter "premium" service that is charged additional (monthly?) fee. So far I was charged $1 as promised.
