I DONT RECCOMEND! I recieve many random emails and text messages from weird posted "jobs". Very minimal info and links to click. Claiming: "you applied for____ on careerbuilder, please kindly click our link below to sign up..." Ever since I signed up here. Over a year and still coming in. Clearly scammers are ABUNDANT here! Disturbing and has made me TOTALLY rethink WHERE i even post my resume or any information on that resume. Ridiculous!
I've been receiving a lot of text messages from companies I never applied to. They claim to have gotten my resume and information from CareerBuilder even when I never submitted any documents on their website.
I wish I had read these reviews before using CareerBuilder for a job posting, but (expensive) lesson learned. First and foremost, they really do have absolutely terrible customer service. I called them for assistance with my posting, and was met by rudeness and complete inability or willingness to assist in any way. I did not get one response to three jobs that I posted for 30 days. I purchased the one time posting option for $299. There was nothing mentioned about this being a monthly fee, and there was no option to cancel provided at any time. So, Career Builder kept my credit card on file and proceeded to charge my credit card for another month with no advance notice. Unethical business practice to say the least. Will never use them again.
This website attracts scammers. I posted my resume on career builder and with in 3 days I received 7 text messages/emails from scammers that would only do interviews through chat messages. I have yet to receive contact from an actual person that is looking to hire me. The messages/emails claimed to be from legitimate companies but were unable to provide a phone number to contact the company at. I completed one interview and they said they were going to send me a check in the mail for office supplies. There was no verification of age, new hire paperwork or any way to talk to an actual person.
We paid over $3000 for what as promised us "large number of qualified automotive technicians".
The truth is that your so-called automotive technicians are a true joke; what we find is "technicians" such as "IT technicians" or facility maintenance technicians... or even worse, many of your so-called qualified applicants are from a different countries. When asked for help from your sales people the answer was very simple - we can't find it either, but you signed a contract so pay or your credit score is going to be effected.
Lots of SPAM! SCAM sites! DO to give full detail info if looking, search else ware, find listing ant try to apply else ware, use an alternate email to not get spam!
Your resume and all that information will be stolen. I made a huge mistake, never ever consider to visit this careerbuilder site!
When I was searching for a website that would allow to apply multiple companies at once I came to this website. Also, on their page they have the link in the footer saying "do not want to sell your data" something like that and then it will give you a quote price to remove your information. I think they will never do it once they've got you.
If you're looking for a place to source candidates for your company, I would advise you not to use CareerBuilder. I've never been so dissatisfied with a vendor in my life. They refused to refund us despite knowing we were absolutely not happy a couple of days into our 3-month contract. It became really clear to me quickly that most of their clients were completely dissatisfied and they potentially didn't have a customer that could share a positive experience. The sales guy was nice but I do hope he finds a position elsewhere because it's a terrible company.
I finally deleted my account. Not only are the salary's listed almost 100% false ($140K for an admin assistant?), I started getting numerous "job leads" via email that turned out to be completely ridiculous. If they had even glanced at my resume, they would have known that the jobs they were sending me made no sense at all! I then started getting texts. They would not say who they were, and were very vague about who they represented (and never who they worked for). After I asked some questions, they started to get nasty! I told them to remove me from their list and I blocked their numbers. This has never happened on LinkedIn. It's bad enough looking for a job in this climate. I certainly don't need to be hassled by these so-called "recruiters". CareerBuilder needs to screen these people. Good riddance.
I've gotten nothing since applying on this site but text messages (!) from fake companies just phishing for my info. I've received emails with the same going on. A few years back there was a legitimate posting but it actually was more of an ad that appeared as a banner on the page for a government job. But now I've gotten nothing but feeling like my personal info has been accessed by people from other countries and it is very unsettling. I literally could've not used the site and saved myself the grief.
I applied for "jobs" I qualified for, and have since been inundated with phishing emails, scam calls and unsolicited offers for "scholarships" and amazing "work at home" offers earning 55k or more to simply verify products. This site needs to be taken down, and I would like to see a class action suit brought against them. Customer service is a joke. Total waste of time and total scam. Don't give them any information or post your resumes.
I signed up for this site thinking it was a legitimate job site and have received a plethora of spam/scam calls and fake job posting emails ever since! Stay far away. I wish I had never made the mistake of giving my info to this site.
Completely unrealistic quotas
Complete Lack of qualified leadership
Terrible Terrible company culture
Way way way below average pay
Its stupid and annoying that careerbuilder shares your resume with other recruiting companies that fill your inbox with completely irrelevant jobs. Huge waste of time. I stopped using their sustem2 for a while and eventually these emails and calla stopped. However a day after just logging into their site again the emails, txts and calls from shady and irrelevant companies and recruiters syarted again. I am a Network Engineer getting tons of emails and calls to be a entrepreneur, leader, car insurance agent, etc and they all say they found my resume at Career builder. However since i already notice this is a pattern after i log in, i know its not coincidence. I am contacting Careerbuilder and will ask them ro remove my resume and close my account. Enough of this bs.
I keep getting e-mails saying they pulled my resume from careerbuilder, and EVERY SINGLE JOB E-MAIL I HAVE RECEIVED THAT MENTIONS THIS is pretty much a scam. They don't mention what the companies are or a number to call, just what the pay is (usually too good to be true), some general info, what they want from you, and sketchy e-mail profiles to reply to. STEER CLEAR FROM THIS SITE.
Do not put your email address or phone number anywhere on the site, or you'll get phone calls and emails from 'recruiters' about unrelated random jobs, IE, spam.
Wait, how can you avoid putting contact info on a career site? Aha... yeah don't use CareerBuilder it's trash.
Recommended jobs are also rubbish
CB has a good database of candidates. Having said that, their internal people are 90% incompetent. They have screwed up my account so many times, they call all the time, they don't listen.
Ads don't work, you will get all kind of people that aren't even close.
So I saw a button saying fast apply and thought it was to apply to the job I entered for. Next thing you know, I'm applied for 43 different random jobs!? Alot of which I wouldn't apply for.
I seen a job I wanted to apply to so I clicked it. When applying it ask you which website you would want to use. Careerbuilder said it was one clique apply. So I chose them. Wrong! Even filling in my info I'm like no way this is legit they don't even ask you the basics, and sure enough when I called the job they could not find me, or even had heard of them for that matters.
Okay so, CareerBuilder has a glitchy site but has some pretty decent jobs. It seems now, most companies are not using job sites to get new employees. They are using LinkedIn.
