Shady business practices

This is not a bad company in terms of finding care for my daughter. Finding someone can be difficult not matter what method you use. I have found some great people on here and there have been other times when I wasn't able to find anyone at all. I don't think the site can be faulted for that. What I can fault them for is the shady subscription renewals they have. They don't send out any notification that they are about to renew so you can opt out if you don't need it at the time and they won't refund your money either. I have a full time job, I'm a single mother of 3 girls, one of my daughters is disabled. In other words I don't need another thing on my to-do list to keep track of their subscription and make sure it doesn't renew if I don't currently need it. Reputable companies notify a person before a subscription renews so you can opt out if you don't want or need it. This company does not do that. It's a shady business practice in my opinion.

We tell members that the charge is recurring - both on the screen where you choose your subscription term, and again when you check out and pay
We send a confirmation email to the email address you've provided with details on how much and when you will be charged
We also provide instructions on how to cancel your recurring subscription at check out, in the email confirmation, and in our Terms Of Use
We provide the phone number for our Member Care team on your monthly credit card statement with each charge to make it easy to contact us with questions about your bill or to cancel.

I paid for Premium account and immediately find out there are all sorts of "add-ons". It was not clear to me that Premium didn't include all your services. If I had realized that I would not have gotten the premium account. I will cancel my subscription immediately so that it does not renew next year. This is a joke.

Border line fraud

I'm not a big fan of trial memberships where they give you an introductory offer and then start sticking it to you every month, but it is even more despicable when trying find a resource to assist with an ageing parent. I'm not saying they should not be compensated for their service, but to continue to bilk people on a monthly basis when their accounts are clearly inactive and not using the service is wrong. Judging from the massive number of 1-star ratings complaining about their shady practices, it looks like we are far from alone with our complaint.

Too early to tell

Too early to tell. I like I can see who is looking, but don't like that you have to pay to contact potential caregivers... in this job market, we have had a hard time finding workers that are dependable and reliable. It would be nice to pay on incentive base for both. Contractor and contractee.

Trying to upgrade with my credit card, it kept saying my name is invalid! I had to use my PayPal. Also, why allow us to advertise free, when we have to pay to read and connect with our respondents? Can't you limit the number of respondents to 1 or 2with free access, then charge to access more? That seems more fair.
