I selected the ultimate shield for its 10yr warranty. <1 year later, it was falling apart. Their fix=me spend 1/3 of my original cost for a replacement. At this rate, I will double my cost in 3 yrs for a 10 year cover. This does not seem to represent value to the customer as their deceptive website would have you think. My situation is very similar to posting by Lidya R on 8/17. Their customer service rep told me that it was likely that it was because I subjected the cover to harsh conditions. I live in the mid-Atlantic region. After 15 minutes on the phone with the customer service rep, they offered me a 5% discount on my replacement cost. She though it was funny when I pointed out that this would to reduce my replacement cost by $1.50. Stay away from Carcovers.com. Buyer beware!

I was so excited to get my car cover. I bought the Ultimate Shield Car Cover with a 10 year warranty. It is advertised as provides complete protection against all the elements including rain, snow, wind, UV / Sun rays, and more. It was beautiful and it fit my car beautifully! For the first 8 months it was great! My car is parked outside so it gets rain and sun. After 8 months it began to crack. After 10 months the top layer began to disintegrate and the inner fleece liner began to shed it's fibers all over my car. The cover was literally disintegrating! I claimed warranty and had to pay a prorated fee of $15.99 for the year I used it (even though it was not a full year) and I had to pay $17.53 shipping for the new cover they sent me (I had free shipping for the original cover). If I claim warranty every year it disintegrates I'll have paid double the original cost in the 10 years it is supposed to have lasted me. Also after the 3rd claim, they make you ship the cover to them for inspection according to the warranty rules.

I doubt the new cover will last more than 8 months as well and after 3 claims, they make you ship the cover to them to inspect it. Frankly it is not worth the price of the cover so essentially you are getting less than 1 year of good use out of it when you should be getting 10 as per their warranty.
I won't be buying or recommending this company to anyone I know...
