I am a costumer of this bank for more than 18 years, I went today to the Commerce St branch and the lady who was working in customer service was very rude and disrespectful, I just had one question but she refuse to answer me and told me I had to have made an appointment, when I asked her how I could make one she just ignored me.
I have been with CapitalOne for over a decade, and can tell with confidence that they support fraudulent transactions of merchants over customers concerns. Recently, I was charged several times by Logo genies for a service that was not completed prior to filing the dispute. Logo genies was a "click and bait" company who changed their terms and conditions after receiving payment, and never sent me a sales invoice or cancellation policy prior and after payment. I contacted Capital One to dispute the charges and sent them all the evidence of Logo genies scam (email trail with time stamps, snapshot of logogenies service information displayed on their website), CapitalOne took over 60 days to look into it and then said that the case was closed because I could not provide sales invoice and cancellation policy which the merchant did not provide me throughout service period until date. So, I did not get the refund I deserved for an unfulfilled service. I have had similar encounters with CapitalOne more than five times already with different merchants, and CapitalOne has always favored the merchants in spite of all evidence that service/product has not been delivered, and today I say no more! They always support scam activities of merchants and do not act in my best interest as a customer to protect my credit. So, I will be closing my CapitalOne credit account for good soon.
Note: I tried uploading images of multiple charges to my capitalone account but pixels of images exceed 300 by300, so I could not upload my only proof of payments.

Credit One is the worst credit card I have ever had. They do not have automatic monthly payment, the only card I own that does not have this feature. Despite have a zero balance for over a year, I just got charged a yearly fee. Again, the only card I own that charges a fee. When I spoke to customer service, explaining that I have a very high credit score and have been a great customer, paying off balances faithfully, I was told that under no circumstances will they waive the fee. Despite the fact that it is not good to cancel a credit card, I am doing that today. I never want to hear from Credit One again. After paying the annual fee, of course, so they don't ding my great credit. What a ripoff! Stay away from this card!
Customer Service told me if I upgraded to a venture one card, there would be no annual fees. Than refused to remove annual fees. They were almost flip about it - their reasoning was the fees were on the account (10 days) before I switched to a venture one card. I WAS a long time customer. Always timely, usually full paid. I cancelled the card. After they did that they told me a late payment might still show up, if the fee was not removed before the due date - this company is FRAUDULENT - if you have any other options, DO NOT USE THEM.
This is the most terrible company to have an auto loan with and absolute terrible credit card company! They scam you with extra interest charges for cash advantages when you pay it back you will still be charged monthly if you have a balance from purchases that you are also being charged interest on as well they have terrible customer service and do not care a bit about loosing there customers I will be canceling all accounts with capital one and making sure to make everyone aware to never ever do business with this scamming company
They'll charge you for everything, I paid on time and yet I'm charged extra. After I'm done with this card payment I am absolutely threw with them. Discover/ Credit One has helped me in more ways than none meanwhile capital one can't even correct the mistake they made. My blood absolutely boils with their customer service. I won't be going back!
It's always I can't help you, and never let me try this or let me call this person.

For some reason when I deposited a check they are holding it an extra day then usual. When I called customer service, they tried telling me that it has never been released a day earlier when I have my bills set for my my check should be released and now going to pay late fees because they won't release my check to me. My job doesn't have direct deposit so hence the checks. Awful customer service.
Capital one puts false information on credit reports then makes it impossible to change their mistakes. 75 years old with a FICO SCORE OF 840 Capital one allowed someone to change address, ss# Other info. That lowered my FOCO score to 600. I am 75 years old heart condition hypertension, don't have time to correct their mistakes. No one to help. Capital one has killed me, they act like it's a big joke.
They have the worst Customer service I would not recommend anyone to bank with them they will close your account and then say we just decided to end our banking relationship with you like that's normal!
So after opening an account with Capital one, the requirement was the open the account with some money in there. I tried depositing money in there before I received my bank card and my bank denied the transaction. I then call Capital one to see as to why this happened and they said that there decision to move forward with me having a regular Capital one bank account has been denied and now I can't bank with them. For a non brick and mortar place that doesn't have real customer service and the department that made the decision is unreachable, the bank side of Capital needs more time and research to see what a real bank actually is.

An interest charge as well due to how the merchant processed my credit card and made it look like I did a "cash advance" some how. I called and spoke to 2 different people 1st one kept saying oh I understand but had no idea what he was doing. No help at all- I had to keep telling him again and again that there was some sort of error. I got to the point where I just wanted to pay the card enough to avoid the interest charges going forward so I asked what I needed to pay to avoid more interest charges and he said I had to pay the full balance of the card when the "cash advance charge" was only 55 dollars so I finally asked for a manager and got the manager to listen and calculate the amount I actually needed to pay to get out of the mess Capital One and the merchant made. I will never again use Capital one. Dont use Capital One credit cards online because who know what can be called a "cash advance".
Customer service is terrible. I applied for a credit card, I have good credit & income & I got approved for a card. A day later Capital One closed my account with no explanation.
I've been a customer for 11 years, because of personal problems and the pandemic I feel behind, but was able to pay in full. They decided they were not able to help. Highly do NOT recommend, they are not loyal to their customers.
Why have an over limit fee? A credit card is supposed to be credit lent to you. Once that credit runs out they are supposed to decline the transaction. I'm pretty sure I've paid more than my credit limit in overage charges alone. Does that help my credit score a all?. No it does not! So thanks capital one for marketing to people with poor credit only to set them up to fail.
On numerous occasions I have tried to deposit checks that they would not honor because my account name is not exactly the same as what is on the check ie: no middle initial, no jr. Or Sr. This is ridiculous, why would I access my account then try and deposit a fraud check. Please... especially when they hold the check for several days. I am done with Capital one don't want my money sorry for you. I'm switching. Do not recommend them.
No matter my credit score, I can't get approved for any Capital One Credit Card. They use the same excuses that are over 9 months old (Too many recent inquiries, etc). I can't even get approved for a secured credit card from Capital One. Customer service agents are all foreigners who speak very poor english, so its hard to find a resolution. So, I gave them a 1 star.
Beware. Capital One raised my interest rate by 12% when I was late with one payment. I was in the hospital.
After having a Capital One Platinum card for 5 years and using the same payment method the entire time, never missing a payment, never carrying over a large balance for more than 2 billing cycles and never bouncing a payment, they decided to take my most recent payment and place a 26 day hold in it and refused to give me a reason why, nor would they return the money. So they just take my $250.00 and put it in their bank account to collect interest on it while I sit and wait? I dont think so. Ive used the same 2 debit payment methods for the past 5 years to make my payments and they put a hold on one of them 3 weeks ago stating we needed to verify them with our bank. So we did, the very next morning and all is good again, right? Well until a week ago when i make the $250.00 payment and they hold it, first stating it would take 7 days and when I call asking where the money is, they then state its a 26 day hold and that I was mis-informed. So, cancel my card, and I will have the bank reverse the payment and keep my money elsewhere.
I have been disputing a charge for over 6 weeks. They do absolutely nothing! Lost a letter that was certified!
Answer: No really I can't I mean from the very beginning they said they mailed it and then a week later when I called and they had not mailed it yet when I checked my bank they take the money out of my bank and then tell me they're going to hold the money for 7 days to make sure the money is there I think they take the customers for granted in a big bad way
Answer: From my experience, they appear to be nothing but a shady scam bank.
Answer: They offered nice rewards back It sounded more impressive than it is. Big mistake.
Answer: This is the same issue I'm having with Capital One. They make mistakes and then drag their feet and act like nothing is wrong.
